FAMILY ABOVE ALL: BATTLING AGAINST GODS
CHAPTER 218: STELLAR TRANSFORMATION

CHAPTER 218: STELLAR TRANSFORMATION

A great battle ensued for several hours.

Countless corpses could be seen floating on the sea of blood that covered the earth for several miles.

Bloody waves rose from the sea every time a shockwave spread to the surroundings.

Within the encirclement of a dome of earth tens of kilometers in diameter, and thousands of meters high, Brian and the elders of the Enigma Ancient family fought a heated battle with the forces of Corruption.

About three hours ago, the mercenaries and the mage corps the family had formed had tried to evacuate all the denizens of the city. Alas, even with the support of the Family elders, less than half of the population escaped successfully.

The others floated above the bloody sea, the warmth of life forever lost from their bodies; an expression of fear, anger, remorse, and grievance forever etched on their pale faces.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

The constant sound of explosions echoed in the surroundings.

Brian and his elders clashed against several demons.

They had thought the army of undead, despite being innumerable, wouldn't have taken a great deal of energy and time to handle, but to their horror, every time the skeletons were cut apart, smashed into pieces or even burnt into ashes, they would rise again as if they never suffered any damage in the first place. They truly lived up to the names of the undead.

Thankfully, after seeing the situation devolving, one of the elders quickly sealed the undead into a massive ball of fire. He reduced the size of the ball into a fist and then temporarily redrew from the battle, his attention focused on keeping the undead away from the ensuing clash.

With the undead handled, Brian and the others had a more breathing space and could place all their attention on dealing with the thousands of demons and the earthen dome that had immediately covered the city when the corrupted giant disappeared.

The lesser demons who formed almost ninety percent of the remaining forces of evil were not much to handle, as they seemed to have lost control of their minds; their only thoughts to bring death to all uncorrupted things around them.

The main problem was the hundreds of greater demons at the red core stage and the ten at the peak of that realm.

The few mercenaries and what remained of the mage corps, having lost any person to protect, attacked the lesser demons, while the family elders took care of the greater demons.

The family finally revealed their powers to the world, although whether such information would spread would depend on if anyone present would live to tell the tale.

The family elders freely transformed into mythical beasts, as bodies of titanic sizes filled the skies. The magic they cast shook the earth, and caused massive explosions in the surroundings.

They were simply living calamities, yet the greater demons were able to make a stand against them, revealing why they were feared across countless worlds.

However, the most noteworthy fight would be the clash between Brian and eight of the peak Red-core stage greater demons.

Despite being at a disadvantage in numbers, Brian was able to singlehandedly reduce the number of his enemies by half. However, he had to pay the price for such a feat. His body was covered in varying wounds that could no longer be healed by his depleted bloodline energy. His mana had fallen to an all-time low, and Brian knew that he wouldn't be able to last an hour longer in this state. Despite that, his face remained calm, his gaze clear, without showing any sign of fatigue or worry.

He momentarily shifted his eyes to the two greater demons on the other side of the battlefield. These two had not participated in the battle so far, but Brian knew one of them was responsible for the earthen dome that caged them. From how the shockwaves generated from their battle seemed to not affect the earthen cage in the slightest, Brian knew that none of them would be able to break out of it unless they attacked one spot for countless hours without being interrupted. He could feel the dome was deeply connected to the earth and could suck its energy to repair and increase its strength.

As for the other greater demon who had not participated, he was the one who had summoned a spatial wall to stop his charge at the giant in the beginning. He could tell that he was a mage connected with space laws, and he appeared to be the strongest of this bunch.

Brian took a deep breath as he shifted his gaze back to the four greater demons flying above him. Since his mana was at the bottom, he decided not to fly and save up as much energy as he could.

Right now, he was facing three men and one woman.

Not only do these four wield evil energy, but they even retained their previous powers.

Suddenly one of the three men moved.

With a raise of his hands, tens of thousands of fire swords appeared, their sheer numbers blotting the skies-well the ceiling of the dome.

With a wave of his raised hands, these swords fell like rain, congregating at one spot- Brian.

But that wasn't the end.

Countless branches rose from the ground as they rapidly moved to restrain Brian. Some of them flung like a whip, desiring to slash his body into countless pieces.

Seeing the attacks closing in on him from every direction, Brian quickly acted. He roused up his remaining bloodline energy and invoked one of the fifty bloodlines he had acquired.

The numerous branches with spikes at their sides that desired to restrain him were the first to arrive, as they swallowed him whole.

However, not even a second later...

BANG!

A body forcefully broke out from their embrace.

A seven-meter-high and thirty-meter-long cheetah with golden and black stripes around its body easily broke the sound barrier as it wove around the branches, whipping towards it from every direction with ghostly speed and deft movements.

In but a second, the cheetah left the branches behind it and arrived below the rain of fiery swords.

As the heat from the approaching swords blew into its face, the cheetah roused a bloodline within it as it jumped into the air to confront the swords without an ounce of hesitation.

Once the distance between was almost bridged, the Cheetah suddenly disappeared, and what took its place was a firebird that burned like the sun.

SCREEEEEEEEEEE!

The bird opened its beak and released a resounding cry.

Without any suspense, all the fiery swords were sucked into its beak, and before the four Corrupted could react, it flapped its two fiery wings and turned into a ray of light that pierced the Corrupted who summoned the fire swords.

Just when it appeared again, the pierced Corrupted had already disintegrated into ashes.

With a peck of its beak, the Corrupted who had summoned the branches was turned into a bloody mist.

However, the remaining male and the only female greater demons quickly reacted.

With them being just a short meter from Brian, they opted to explode with their evil energy rather than use their abilities.

A cloud of evil energy instantly covered a kilometer region and didn't show any sign of stopping.

Alas, before it could continue to spread, a bright golden sun exploded from within it, and a clear, powerful bird cry shook the area and even seemed to pass the earthen cage to pierce into the sky.

BOOOOOOOOOM!

SCREE!

The cloud of evil energy immediately gave way to a domain of fire that raised the temperature of the battlefield to the point that the sea of blood on the ground instantly evaporated and the earth quickly turned into magma.

A golden flash flew out from the fire domain, and with a speed that was easily five times faster than the speed of sound, it instantly appeared before the remaining two greater demons who had not participated in the fight so far.

The greater demon with control over space raised his hand calmly, as he formed a spatial wall before him.

The fiery beam that flew out of the sea of fire once again was stopped by the spatial wall, but this time, it didn't bounce back; instead it created a small crack in the spatial wall formed.

The greater demon was a bit surprised but that was all. With his strength, he still didn't care about the level of power his opponent displayed.

But that was until he saw a finger-sized insect fly out from the small crack before him.

As his pupils contracted, the insect, which looked more like a housefly, instantly increased in size, and a white ape about 20m high appeared before him.

The instant change created a stunning visual effect that sent the mind of even the Corrupted into chaos.

Before he could react, the white ape clenched its right fist, the air around it exploding from the force generated.

With a swing, a fist covered in white fur instantly shattered the space before him as Sonic booms shook his eardrums. With his vision covered entirely by that massive fist, the corrupted greater demon was only able to form a few dozen spatial walls before him out of his natural battle instincts, before the attack arrived.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

A massive shockwave shook the area, as the earth from the epicenter exploded into rubbles that filled the air.

The other battlefields immediately came to a stop as the shockwaves sent allies and foe flying in every direction.

Many lives were reaped as mages were known for their weak bodies.

Those who couldn't summon their defense were instantly eradicated.

With that, the battlefield appeared more deserted.

The spatial cracks that had formed at the center of the explosion rapidly healed.

Despite the attack that had deformed the entire tens of kilometers, the earthen dome remained standing. The countless cracks that had formed on it were instantly healed by the dirty brown essence that was sucked from the earth.

Haa! Haa! Haa! Haa!

Brian gasped on the ground heavily. His mana was completely depleted and his bloodline energy was used up. His face was pale from the energy depletion, but he still forced his heavy eyes open to watch the result of his final attack.

When Brian's vision came to, a deep feeling of despair almost overwhelmed him.

The earthen wall before him slowly parted and two figures walked towards him.

One of the figures was covered in blood but remained whole. As for the other, he was completely unaffected.

Brian realized that the greater demon that summoned the earthen wall simply took his partner and retreated from the battlefield at the last moment.

After his attack ended, they returned once again.
