CHAPTER 25: ATTACK

[PRESENT]

Hearing the sound of battle and feeling the ground greatly tremble, Arlo quickly left the house.

What greeted him was complete and utter chaos.

People were running about, children were crying while the adults were shouting.

Arlo ignored the surrounding situation, as he fixed his gaze on the barrier that surrounded the village.

The barriers seemed to flicker in and out of existence as if they would seemingly disappear very soon.

'What is going on?'

Arlo immediately made haste to the edge of the village.

Meanwhile.

Rita just came out of the barrier that surrounded the village.

"What the hell are you guys doing?"

Rita was shocked and speechless on the spot.

There were varying battles currently going on.

However, the most impactful of them was the battle at the forefront.

She looked at how her husband was single-handedly fighting against three people and yet both sides seem to be equal in strength.

Looking at the other battles, Rita could not help but ask in her mind once more.

'What the hell is going on?'

She ran towards the fight closest to her.

"Martin" She called out as she stopped a short distance from the battle between the two people.

The bald man among the two turned to face Rita, yet he continued to clash equally against the other.

The other man was visibly shocked at this revelation.

"Martins, what the hell are you people doing? Even the weakest of us could defeat all these enemies combined with just the wave of a hand."

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

"Huh?" Martin, the principal of the training center was left speechless, as he didn't know what to say.

After a few moments, while still clashing with the other party, Martin finally responded:

"You should meet the master."

After saying that, Martin quickly shifted the battle further away from Rita.

Looking at the obvious reaction of Martin that seems to say 'Don't ask me, go ask him.', Rita stomped her feet in anger and made her way to the battle at the very front.

…..

Arlo made his way around the people that were causing chaos. Normally, it would take him less than 30 minutes to make his way from his house to outside the village, but because he was caught in various conflicts and disturbances along the way, even after spending an hour, he had yet to reach the barrier.

"ARLO!" A sweet voice resounded in the chaotic area.

Turning his eyes to his side, he could see a beautiful young girl quickly making her way toward him.

It was the girl he lost to yesterday.

"Where are you going?" she asked him when she arrived beside him.

Arlo's eyes looked conflicted for a few moments, but he still replied:

"Outside the village."

"Ou-outside?" Tina exclaimed.

While others were trying their all to escape the source of the tremors, Arlo on the other hand was trying to go head-on into the battle.

"However, you sh..."

"I don't have time to waste."

Knowing what she wanted to say, Arlo cut her words short before he continued to make his way outside the village.

Seeing him leave, she gritted her teeth and quickly chased after him.

About 30 minutes later, Arlo was a few tens of meters from the barrier.

He turned around a corner and was about to continue when a figure appeared before him and blocked his path.

"Teacher Ari!" Arlo called out in surprise.

"Where are you going?" Ari fixed her eyes on Arlo as she asked calmly, ignoring the other girl tagging along with him.

"I need to leave," Arlo said with a resolved face.

"You can't." Ari refused vehemently, her stance very clear.

Arlo was at a loss. If she refused to allow him passage, there was nothing he could do. It wasn't as if he could beat his teacher, right?

Not to mention he didn't have the ability in the first place.

"AAAAAH!" a scream resounded

Arlo was pulled out of his train of thought when he heard a very familiar voice.

"MUM!" Arlo screamed with a hoarse voice as tears welled up in his eyes.

His body subconsciously moved to make haste, but he was still stopped.

"LEAVE THE WAY!" Arlo shouted angrily, his eyes completely red as he failed to hold back his tears.

Looking at his anxious and broken-down visage, Ari could not help but feel her heart clench tightly.

She closed her eyes and turned aside to make way as she let out a defeated...

"Sigh!"

'I will miss you, young master.'

…..

A few minutes earlier

Rita made her way to the most impactful battle, which was the battle between her husband and three other enemies.

Even from afar, she could see her husband fighting on equal ground with his opponents whose auras were surprisingly the strongest among the invading enemies.

'What are you doing Arthur?'

'Why are you struggling with such weak people?'

A few moments later, she arrived near the heated battle. She was just about to call out to Arthur when...

"AH!" she screamed out in shock.

A fourth person suddenly appeared behind Arthur, his sword raised and ready to thrust into his back.

*Whoosh.*

Rita immediately disappeared from the spot and arrived behind Arthur in an instant to shield him from the attack.
