CHAPTER 223: IS THAT A C?

"You must be Silvia!"

A deep voice filled with power and prestige resounded in the area.

Seeing the arrival of their queen, Martin and Sophia finally couldn't bear it any longer and collapsed on the ground. Brian and his father were no different.

The sudden transition from being close to death to guaranteed survival almost overwhelmed these talented mages.

While Arthur and Rita didn't collapse like the others, their eyes showed visible signs of relief.

Arthur shifted his eyes to the figure who had arrived unnoticed.

"Master..."

Queen Silvia stood a short distance from the group, her slender figure highlighted by a tight golden battle suit. Her face was still covered by a veil, just like her daughter, but the two calm pools of golden hues shining behind the veil left no doubt that a world-destroying beauty was hidden behind it.

The giant gazed at the small figure a kilometer before him. Despite the unsurmountable difference in size between them, the giant's senses were screaming like never before that the woman posed a fatal threat to him, and he didn't doubt it.

'She is the only existence with a talent above the god tier in the entire dark galaxy, after all.'

Even with her cultivation being only at the peak of the Red-core stage, as she was limited by this world's mana, the giant knew that he might not be her match. And that was saying a lot. Even he was in a stage which, when compared to mana cultivation, could be translated to the Red-core stage. However, he had the strength to decimate all the existences, a great realm above him, and could defend himself from an existence that had recently broken into two stages above him. It wasn't for no reason that the giants ruled the entire galaxy until some millennia ago.

The giant narrowed his eyes at the still-quiet Silvia. He felt unnerved that his opponent didn't respond to him. It was almost as if she was ignoring his presence. But he knew that was not the case, as ever since she arrived, her light golden eyes had never left his massive frame for a split second. Her tight grip around her two swords had never lessened for a moment.

'Should I test her?'

The giant knew he had failed his mission ever since Queen Silvia arrived. However, he was unwilling to leave just like that. He had lost his army and had failed to retrieve the artifact his Lord required. Not to mention, that he had been humiliated by a group of snotty brats.

Despite now being a demon, the giant hadn't lost a bit of his pride. If he wasn't in a weakened state, his Lord would have never been able to convert him in the first place.

A deep silence ensued. Seconds trickled into minutes and in what seemed like the blink of an eye, a quarter of an hour passed. Yet, the giant and Silvia remained at the same point, not having made any movement, their eyes fixed on the other.

Arthur and the others also didn't dare to breathe too loudly or make any sudden movement.

They weren't sure if even their unrivaled Queen would be able to stop the existence before them. That was how deep an impression the giant had left on them.

Arthur didn't doubt for one second that he stood no chance against the giant. If it wasn't because the latter had underestimated him, he never would have been able to scratch him, even with the elusiveness of his space laws.

The giant suddenly clenched his huge hands into fists causing Silvia's body to tense slightly, her grip around her weapons tightening further.

Suddenly, the giant who seemed like he was about to attack shook greatly. His clenched fists loosened, and a look of reverence appeared on his face.

Then he looked at Silvia with his gigantic black-as-night eyes, and his mouth parted slightly, his deep voice reverberating:

"We shall meet again, human queen."

"Very soon..."

He didn't wait for Silvia to respond as with a slight shake of his body, the space around him shattered and he started fading out of existence.

Arthur could tell that he was teleporting to someplace outside of this world, which shocked him greatly. Even he, who had a deep mastery of space laws, couldn't achieve that, at least not yet.

'Huh?'

Suddenly, Arthur felt a deep chill running down his spine. Before the giant disappeared completely, his eyes rested on him for several seconds, and for some reason, Arthur felt his gaze wasn't the same as before. It was almost as if an entirely different being was looking at him, and he even felt that gaze to be a bit... familiar.

But before he could point at where he had felt it, the giant disappeared from his sight.

The only thing that proved that he was ever there was the two bottomless long ditches and the surroundings hundreds of kilometers that had been turned into flattened ground. The city had long disappeared, the mountains had been turned into dust, and the rivers had been erased from existence.

Queen Silvia breathed an imperceptible sigh of relief, before sending her weapons back into her space ring.

Then she turned her golden eyes to her daughter's, as her lips raised into a small smile. Alas, such a mesmerizing smile was hidden by the veil.

She shifted her eyes to Brian's father, before nodding her head slightly as a way of greeting.

Brian's father quickly bowed 90° degrees, as he silently thanked his benefactors. If it wasn't for their arrival, not only would his family have lost everything, rendering their millennium-old grudges useless, but they wouldn't have been able to stop the giant from taking the Scythe.

Of course, while he wanted to retrieve his family's heirloom back from Arthur, he had no intention of voicing it directly. And instead opted to see how things turned out.

Queen Silvia didn't react much to the ancient family leaders' bow. Instead, she shifted her eyes to her student, and a speechless look appeared on her face; of course, no one could see it.

"Why didn't you use your new technique?" She asked with a speechless tone, her soft beautiful voice making the bones of those who heard it feel mellow. She couldn't believe that even when her student was facing an enemy he could not defeat, he would still hold back his strength. And not by a small amount at that. While they couldn't use their full strength due to their fear of destroying their world, she was aware Arthur's technique had nothing to do with destruction. Yet if he had used it, while he still wouldn't have stood a chance against the giant, he would have been able to escape easily.

"Hehe..." Arthur scratched the back of his head in embarrassment.

"There was no use in revealing all my cards so soon, especially when I know I can't defeat my opponent."

The sides of Silvia's lips twitched slightly, while Martin and the others had perplexed looks on their faces.

Shaking her head slightly, Queen Silvia suddenly disappeared. Just as she arrived unnoticed, she left unnoticed, with no one having any idea how she did, despite their eyes never leaving her body.

Arthur knew she hadn't disappeared by bending space as he didn't feel any fluctuations from the surrounding space.

'Master is truly the strongest!' He sighed deeply, but soon his eyes shone with determination.

'I will still surpass her...'

.....

After Queen Silvia left, Arthur teleported the group to where he had sent the Goldsborn mages and the Enigma family elders. They were on a mountain thousands of kilometers away from the battlefield, but what surprised Martin and the others was that two unexpected figures were also present.

"Mother! Sister!"

Brian shouted as tears streamed down his young face. Despite his calm exterior, he was worried about his mother and sister's fate ever since they were sent flying away from his sight.

Thankfully, they appeared unscathed, and Brian knew it must be because of the Goldsborn wood-elemental mages.

Brian's father visibly relaxed as he embraced his wife and daughter, together with his son. As for the elders, they stood behind them and waited for them to finish their reunion.

On the other side were Martin, Sophia, and the Goldsborn mages.

"So, what do we do?" Martin asked his silent princess.

"I don't know. You are the one in charge of this mission, so you decide." Rita spoke for the first time, her voice sounding heavenly to the ears.

Martin scratched his long auburn hair. He had the habit of smoothening his hair when he was feeling pressured.

Just when he was about to ask Sophia about her thoughts on the issue, a figure suddenly approached them from the other side.

It was a young girl who seemed to be about their age.

"FIONA!..." Her father and brother shouted from behind, but the girl ignored them and drew closer to Arthur's group.

Martin wondered why Brian and the others had strange and uncomfortable looks on their faces. But he didn't need to think for long as the young girl with long emerald hair and matching eyes stopped before them before bowing slightly.

"I thank the benefactors for saving mine and my family's lives."

Martin was a bit mesmerized by the beauty before him. While she didn't reach Rita's level, he could swear she was the second, no, third most beautiful female he had ever seen. The first and second are Silvia and Rita, despite him never seeing their appearance. But he had never doubted their beauty for even a moment.

Martin wasn't the only one who was mesmerized. All the Goldsborn's family male mages shared the same reaction. Luckily they were quickly awoken by a loud harrumph from the red-haired Sophia.

Martin quickly waved his hand to show that they didn't do much, as he tried to hide his embarrassment.

Fiona didn't dally and quickly turned towards Arthur.

"I know you saved us, but please, can you return the artifact to us? It is our family's heirloom and we are willing to compensate you in any other way." Fiona spoke as she shook away the slightly uncomfortable feeling she was feeling from his silent stare.

Arthur's eyebrows furrowed on her face, yet he didn't reply and merely continued to watch her intently.

While the others thought he was pissed, no one knew that his attention wasn't the slightest on Fiona's face.

'Is that a C-cup? No, it must be a B...'

He gulped secretly but he made sure to fix his eyes on...face.

Only one person had an inkling of why he was so quiet.

Rita looked at him quietly from the side of the eye.
