AN: Sorry for the late update. Expect a new chapter in a couple of hours. Happy reading!
The building was highly luxurious, with a high-class and sophisticated exterior that immediately conveyed a sense of extravagance. One glance was enough to tell it was an upscale place.
Stefan took Arlo, Joe, and Arianne into the main academy building.
He took them directly to an office located at the top of the building.
Before he could knock on the door, a calm voice came from within, already expecting their arrival.
"Come inside!"
Stefan opened the door and entered before Arlo, and the rest followed.
The office was quite grand.
Behind a desk at the end of the room sat a middle-aged man with a piercing gaze.
"Greetings, Principal." Stefan greeted.
This man was the principal of the first year.
A look of contempt flashed within the principal's eyes before he ignored Stefan altogether.
A trace of disgust soon appeared on his face when his eyes fell on Joe, and he didn't bother to mask it.
With a humph, he shifted his gaze to Arlo. A positive light finally flashed within his eyes.
He looked at Arlo with interest.
After a short while, he looked at the last person in the room, Arianne.
Arianne was glaring at him with a fiery look on her face, but he didn't seem to mind.
Nodding respectfully, he greeted, "Princess."
Arianne harrumphed before shifting her gaze away.
Arlo chuckled inwardly at her childish antics, while Stefan smiled wryly before shaking his head ever so slightly.
Before a feeling of anger could sprout within him, the principal suppressed it forcefully.
Unlike Stefan, Arianne could suppress him with her bloodline, even with the vast difference in their cultivation.
Of course, she wouldn't dare to.
No matter what, he was a person of high status, so she had to give him face.
That, of course, was if he didn't cross the line.
He threw three keys in the air.
Arlo, Joe, and Arianne each caught a key that flew at them.
"Where you will be staying has been arranged. I advise you to settle in quickly, for I will call a short gathering this evening to introduce you to the other students."
"The living quarter of the boys is a few distance southeast from here. As for Her Highness, I have already arranged for someone to lead you to your dorm."
With that, he lowered his head and focused his attention on the documents on his table.
Stefan took that as a queue to leave.
Bowing slightly, he turned around and motioned for the others to follow.
Immediately when they left the office, Arianne grumbled:
"Why are you even being respectful toward him? You are higher in status."
Stefan smiled lightly, "It is to train my mind."
A perplexed look appeared on Arianne's face causing Stefan to chuckle.
If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.
Arlo trembled slightly behind. His gaze toward Stefan became more respectful and his evaluation of him rose.
'He doesn't depend on his status.'
Leaving the main building, they saw a girl of about Arianne's age waiting outside.
"It must be the girl he spoke about." the quiet Joe spoke.
"I guess this is it. We will meet again soon." Stefan smiled.
"Thank you." Arlo and Joe thanked him. They felt grateful. As a prince, he went out of his way to guide them into the Academy. That was truly humble of him.
Stefan waved them off before patting Arianne on the head, "Take care, little sis."
"Hmm." Arianne nodded.
With that, he left.
"I will be heading off too," Arianne said before approaching the girl who had been waiting for her.
Arlo and Joe saw the girl bowing to her, and after a few exchanges of words, they left.
"Guess we are on our own," Joe said.
Looking up at the sky, Arlo could tell it was late afternoon. It would soon be evening.
"Let's go!"
.....
It didn't take Arlo and Joe long to find their dorm.
The main academy building was surrounded by several smaller buildings.
After walking southeast and asking for directions, they stopped in front of a building.
The building was four stories high, and at its opposite ends were long winding stairs that led upstairs.
The building was quite wide, with several doors lining the first floor.
Looking above the first door, they both saw a massive 1A.
A few meters away, was another door, with the writing 1B above it.
Coincidentally, Arlo had the key 1A while Joe had the key 1M.
Arlo guessed the rooms on the first floor should reach 1Z.
This goes to show how wide each floor was, and how massive their dormitory is.
He brought out his key, before opening the door.
The room was brightly lit.
There was a large comfy bed at one side, large enough for two.
There was a door which led to a bathroom.
"Whoa!" An exclamation resounded from the previous room.
Returning back, Arlo saw Joe donning one of the uniforms that had been arranged on a rack in the room.
He had seen those uniforms before and he could tell they were bigger than him.
Now somehow it seemed to fit Joe perfectly, which shouldn't have been possible considering Joe wasn't much bigger than him in size.
"I just decided to try them. Once I did, the uniform suddenly shrunk to accommodate my size. It was quite astonishing.
Oh!" Arlo approached him to have a closer look.
The uniform was a tight tight-fitting light-black shirt and a black trouser.
There were streaks of snow-white vertical lines running down the shirt.
Arlo honestly felt the uniform made Joe appear more good-looking.
"It seems like I can send my mana into the uniform."
"I see." Arlo nodded calmly. "It's just as I thought. This is no ordinary uniform. It was made by a fashion designer." A look of admiration appeared on his face.
While fashion designers are less popular than apothecaries, Blacksmiths, and formation masters, the former was still highly respected.
They could create clothes of various qualities; ones with durability to increase defense, ones with resistance to a specific element among many others.
The fat woman back in his home village was one such fashion designer.
And she was a high-level one at that.
Seeing the uniform glow with a black color, Arlo could tell its unique property.
"Seems the uniform can be automatically washed by sending mana into it."
"How ingenious." Joe praised.
Soon after a look of hesitation appeared on his face.
"You can stay with me." Arlo smiled.
Joe was stunned upon having his thoughts exposed.
"Thank you." His body visibly relaxed.
The truth was, he was scared.
This was an academy for vampires and if it wasn't for wanting to be with Arlo, he wouldn't have dared to come.
But still, he was scared of being alone.
Seeing that Arlo had his well-being in mind, a warm smile lit his face before he gave the latter a bear hug.
Arlo didn't reject him and was about to reciprocate when his expression suddenly changed.
"F*ck!"
Joe's hands were grabbing his rear.
.....
Three hours soon passed.
A crescent moon hung high in the sky illuminating the night with its beautiful light.
A bell rang twice in the first year region.
In the boy's dormitory.
The door of room A1 suddenly swung open before a young dark-haired boy suddenly walked out.
With his unique whitish eyes, he was nothing short of a homme fatale for the young girls.
Following behind him was another boy who seemed younger than the former.
The boy had shoulder-length golden hair and silver eyes.
While his looks certainly didn't pale to the former, what drew people's attention was the aura of confidence around him.
Fitted in a black shirt and uniform, Arlo's natural charm seemed to have been magnified.
They had both gone to Joe's room to take his own set of uniforms. While the uniform could be kept clean at all times with mana, it wouldn't hurt to have more in hand.
There were other boys leaving the dorm, and the majority of them couldn't help but give the duo several glances.
"Let's go!"
Arlo overtook Joe and led the way.
While they didn't know where the gathering would be held, it didn't take a genius to understand that all they had to do was follow the crowd.
Joe raised his head high and puffed out his nonexistent chest when he noticed the gazes on himself.
Arlo on the other hand remained ever so calm.
He didn't seem to care about such things.
What Arlo realized and Joe didn't was that the attention they were garnering was mainly due to them not being vampires.
The vampires had an extraordinarily sharp nose, so their scent stood out like an eyesore among the group of young vampires.
Not to say that as vampires the other kids were naturally handsome.
In fact, there were some that could evenly match them in looks, while a select few looked arguably better.
Soon after, a dome-shaped building appeared before the duo.
Entering the building were not only boys but also girls.
Without hesitation, they stepped into the building.
The duo seemed to have entered a massive hall.
In the hall were several tens of students.
They all couldn't help but simultaneously look at the duo almost in planned unison.
