Gazing at the cold but honest look on Dean’s face, Dora couldn’t control her emotions.
The tears streaming down her face seemed to increase in frequency.
Even though she could see that Dean had done something to her mother, she didn’t care.
Since she had renounced her as her daughter, she didn’t have any obligations to keep treating her as her mother.
Not to say, she had already paid the debt she owed in full.
Dean’s words were by far the most heartwarming words she had heard in a while.
Dean didn’t wait for her, he quickly called out…
“Rock!”
*Whoosh*
“Bring her down!”
“Yes!”
Looking at the kneeling villagers, Dean ordered them to behave as normal before he quickly headed back to the house where he was staying.
For some reason, he felt uneasy.
Sure enough, immediately when he entered the house, the system didn’t even wait for him as a series of messages flashed before him.
<< You negated the system. >>
<< You shall be punished for the next four hours. >>
Without even waiting for Dean to think too deeply about the new messages that flashed before him, the evil energy in his body attacked his internal organs.
*Puff*
Dean coughed a mouthful of blood before he collapsed on the ground.
He kept coughing mouthfuls of blood as he tried to forcefully suppress his evil energy.
That wasn’t all though, as the evil energy churned greatly before moving toward his head.
“AAH!” A heart-wrenching scream escaped Dean’s mouth as he felt his soul being attacked.
It felt as if several million needles were continuously prickling into his soul.
Not before long, following his painful cries, blood leaked out from his eyes, nose, and ears.
As his painful shrieks continued to resound, he occasionally coughed blood due to the attacks on his internal organs.
Dean was experiencing an agonizing torture.
…..
Two days later.
On the other side of the dark universe.
“Big sister!”
“Big sister, help me!”
The playful scream of a little girl echoed in the house, followed by the threatening voice of a boy.
“Come here! If not I will eat you.”
“AH!” The girl shouted as she quickly entered the kitchen.
An elderly woman and a girl whose face was covered by a golden veil entered her vision.
Running toward the golden-haired girl, the little girl jumped into her embrace, before she pleaded…

“Big sis, please save me!”
Rita patted Mia on the head.
“It’s okay. Big sis is…”
“Huhahaha! I am here for you.”
Feeling the slight trembling of Mia in her embrace, the corner of Rita’s mouth twitched a couple of times.
“Hey! It is one thing if you don’t help cook, and it is another if you disturb us while cooking.”
“Hehe!” Arthur scratched the back of his head sheepishly.
“Haha, It’s okay. It's been a while since little Mia enjoyed herself like this.”
“Grandma!” Mia left Rita’s embrace and jumped into her grandmother’s.
Patting her granddaughter on the head, she spoke guiltily…
“Mia doesn’t have any friends to play with. It's because I decided to live outside the city.”
“Mia only wants to be with grandma.”
A warm smile lit Grandma’s face before she heard Mia continue.
“Besides, I now have a beautiful big sis and the evil Arthur.”
Mia flashed her tongue playfully at Arthur.
“You…” Arthur was stunned.
“Do you know how fortunate you are to have the great Arthur play with you?”
Waving his hair to the side with class, Arthur continued, “If we were outside, I wouldn’t even pay any attention to you.”
Rita rolled her eyes while Mia giggled at Arthur’s antics.
Grandma suddenly interjected, “We will need some vegetables for the soup.”
Rita’s eyes flashed mischievously as she quickly grabbed Arthur and ran out of the kitchen.
“We will get it.” Her voice drifted into the kitchen.
“This child!” Grandma smiled wryly. How could she not figure out that Rita didn’t want her to pay for the vegetables?
During these past three days, Grandma kept rejecting Rita’s attempts to help them financially.
Every time they tried to, Grandma would always reply gently, “There is no need, we have enough.”
“Ah! Wait for me, I want to follow you!”
Not even waiting for her Grandma to react, Mia escaped her embrace before she scurried out of the room hurriedly.
Instead of getting displeased, a warm smile graced Grandma’s face as she was genuinely happy for her granddaughter.
Mia hadn’t been this happy since her parent’s death.
Thinking of her son and daughter-in-law, Grandma looked above her before she whispered…
“Once Mia grows old enough, I will join you. Wait for me…”
…..
Arthur, Rita, and Mia arrived in the city a few kilometers away.
The streets were lined with several shops and stalls.
There were different merchandise put on display.
As they walked around the city, Mia would pull the duo to any shop that caught her interest.
Anything Mia wanted to have, Rita would buy without any hesitation. It almost seemed like a doting sister spoiling her junior.
While Arthur also wanted to try some of the delicacies, his pride wouldn’t allow him to ask Rita.
However, Rita didn’t care about such things, and whenever Mia wanted to taste a delicacy, she would get one for Arthur and her herself.
Being a princess, gold was the last thing she lacked.
As they continued along the streets, Mia held a candy stick in both hands while Rita only held one.
While the city was bustling with people, the streets didn’t feel cramped at all.
Arthur on the other hand was left with carrying bags as he followed behind the cheerful girls.
While he grumbled a bit inwardly, he couldn’t bring himself to complain after being treated to several delicacies he hadn’t even tasted before.
The trio had already gotten the vegetables they needed and were just sightseeing the city at Mia’s behest.
She rarely comes to the city, and when she did, she wouldn’t spend too long, so Rita and Arthur decided to indulge her this time.
As Mia jumped cutely forward, looking for something to interest her, Arthur gazed at an alley at his right before his eyes brightened.
“Stop!”
“What is it, big brother? Are the bags too heavy?”
“Tch, you can’t even carry these light loads?”
“I didn’t say that!” Arthur grumbled at Rita who was looking at him with contempt before looking down at Mia who had approached him with concern on her face.
“It is fine. This is nothing for Big Brother! Don’t forget that Big Brother has a lot of energy from eating people, especially little girls like you.”
“Hehe!” Mia giggled playfully.
“Why did you tell us to stop then?” Rita asked confused.
Looking across the alleyway, Arthur's eyes shined with excitement, “Follow me, I will show you how great I truly am.”
After passing through the alley, the trio walked for a while before entering into a neighborhood.
The streets were dirty and untidy, and there were occasionally people begging on the wayside.
This part appeared to be the slum of the city.
Arthur thought that the girls would feel uncomfortable passing through this side.
However, Rita didn’t hesitate to even dip her legs in the muddy ground, while her expression remained calm and uncaring.
Mia looked around curiously, and her excitement would only dampen when she saw the people begging miserably at the sides.
While she wanted to help them, she didn’t have the means to. And she didn’t want to burden Rita more than she had to.
As for Rita, while she did feel some pity for them, she didn’t make any attempt to help any of them.
Helping one person would mean she had to help the others, and while she didn’t lack the money, she couldn’t squander it carelessly.
After walking for ten minutes, Arthur finally stopped before a dilapidated warehouse.
The girls looked curiously at the building.
Why would Arthur bring them here?
The thought of Arthur harming them didn’t even cross Rita’s mind, as after interacting with Arthur for the past three days, she knew he was someone who was innately prideful and arrogant.
He would disdain to do something like that.
