FAMILY ABOVE ALL: BATTLING AGAINST GODS
CHAPTER 197: CLASH OF THE MIGHTY II

CHAPTER 197: CLASH OF THE MIGHTY II

A world of darkness descended upon the area. A black sphere about ten kilometers in diameter formed on the battlefield, engulfing the world in pitch black.

From within the walls of the sphere formed countless bats with crimson fangs. The innumerable fangs flew towards the hundreds of millions of corrupted within their constraints.

However, the corrupted now free from Scarlett's spiritual attack didn't remain still.

Mana-formed attacks of different laws filled the skies. But what the different attacks shared in common was the sinister energy that permeated them and filled them with an aura of evilness.

The uncountable fist-sized bats were destroyed relentlessly by the attacks of millions yet it didn't make any difference. More bats were created and filled the gaps left by those who were killed.

Soon several sharp teeth digged into the flesh of corrupted and feasted on their wicked blood. No painful cries filled the air, as corrupted were creatures who had lost all their human emotions. Only those who were very high among them were able to regain a semblance of their feelings.

Corpses filled the ground as the mummified bodies piled up. It started with hundreds but the numbers soon turned into thousands, and that also quickly changed into millions.

SHWISHWIDHWI!

Within this vicious clash of two inhuman forces, a massive shadow streaked across the ground with the sounds of fluttering wings. The majority of Scarlett's monstrous body was covered by enormous black hair, which fluttered in the air like the sounds of the terrifying bat's wings simultaneously flapping their wings.

With swift movements and with her feet not touching the ground, she crossed a distance of hundreds of kilometers in an instant. However, even with her great speed, it seemed she wouldn't be able to close the distance to Pride easily, as she had been flung far into the distance by his thrown axe. Her body charged through the bats feasting on the corrupted and not before long, whirring sounds drifted towards her senses.

Even with no eyes and ears, Scarlett's now monstrous face turned towards the seven rotating halos that expanded instantly and easily cut through the bodies of the corrupted on its path like a knife through butter.

Unlike Doubt, it seemed Pride could use seven dark halos, showing that he was a level above its allies.

However, that didn't make any difference to Scarlett. With fast movements, her body seemed to turn into a streak of darkness that wove around the lunging halos crisscrossed around each other and had expanded to titanic sizes, while still emitting fluttering sounds in the surroundings.

Against Pride's expectations, Scarlett arrived before him in less than five breaths. He retained his calm and quickly commanded the expanded halos to return to their original size. Simultaneously, he threw his building-size hands in a punch towards the lunging Scarlett whose appearance could even send chills down his grotesque back.

Just like with his halos, Scarlett moved deftly around his fists like darkness, and before Pride could react, she arrived beside him, her claws appearing from the darkness and grabbing onto his massive head. Scarlett's massive body twisted gracefully as they instantly materialized, and together with the force from her jump, she grabbed Pride by the head and raised his massive body into the air before slamming him into the ground. Both of their bodies slid forward because of the remaining momentum.

Disoriented for a moment, Pride's eyes trembled when he saw Scarlett's monstrous visage cover his vision, her wide mouth opened fully to reveal the menacing jagged teeth that filled them.

ROAR!

She released a short roar, causing her saliva to splat all over his face, and as she could feel the retreating halos, she quickly threw her face into his neck, as her horrifying teeth opened to dig into his disgusting flesh.

At least that was what she planned to do before she got distracted.

Her moving head stopped for a moment before it turned toward Rebecca who was just about to bite off Doubt's head from his neck when Sorrow rammed into her and sent her sixty-meter-high enormous body flying. Both of their figures tumbled around the ground for several meters as Sorrow clung tightly onto her and refused to let go. It quickly regained itself first and climbed onto her body, gripping her two jaws with its huge hands before pulling apart with its full force.

A whimpering sound escaped Rebecca's mouth as lightning quickly accumulated around her body and burst outward. However, despite being blasted by several currents of electricity, Sorrow refused to let go and instead released a fierce war cry before bursting out with all his might.

Rebecca's two jaws moved further apart and just when it looked like it would snap apart, Sorrow's body suddenly went rigid when Scarlett's spiritual energy slammed into his mind unrestrainedly. Rebecca didn't fail to make use of this opportunity to throw his massive body off her back before clumsily rising onto her feet as she shook her head to regain her bearing.

If it wasn't for having to restrain the surrounding army who were launching attack after attack on her with her lightning field, she would have been able to focus all her attention on the two terrifying opponents before her and use all her might. Alas, that was the plan of the enemy. Despite the armies weren't able to deal any fatal attacks towards them, they were still able to whittle their energy and stamina little by little, and most importantly split their focus.

Thankfully, her sister was able to help her in time, if not it wouldn't have ended well for her.

Doubt, whose head had slowly been snapped off before seemed to have fully healed and was now also charging towards her.

Rebecca quickly turned her head in her sister's direction hoping that she was well after aiding her earlier.

Thankfully, no harm came to her, as Pride who had wanted to take advantage of her monetarily lack of attention was restrained not only by her claw still digging into his head but also by several dark tendrils which had risen from the darkness that had covered the ground below it.

Also, several long dark hands flew from around Scarlett's monstrous figure before lunging towards the shrinking Halos and stopping them in place.

Rebecca quickly turned her attention back to her two opponents.

She knew she was stronger than each of them, but she couldn't guarantee her victory while facing both of them at the same time. Not to mention that she also had to split her attention to stop the dark tide still charging into her lightning field from interfering with their fight.

Murky liquid flew from her opened jaws as she bared her fangs.

AWOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

A huge blood moon slowly rose behind as her fierce howl resounded across the distance.

'Enough with testing the waters. Now, the real fight begins!'

Both sides lunged at each other...

.....

At the same time that Rebecca and Scarlett were clashing with the armies of the Lord of corruption on a dead planet, the Lunar World was also experiencing a great ordeal.

Not only had chaos erupted in the capital city of the magical beasts, with millions of beasts losing their lives and many escaping into other cities, but turmoil filled the whole central continent, as several corrupted suddenly emerged from several other cities before attacking their friends and families viciously, and throwing the whole continent into disorder.

Not only that, the vampires who had felt their connection with their progenitor cut abruptly seemed to lose all semblance of their mind, as they charged into the central continent and started a massacre.

It seemed that despite not sharing a close connection like with Scarlett and her vampires; the werewolves had also been alerted of their Queen's disappearance. That was only normal, as members of her pack could tell her situations just like Ella had bonded with Arlo and the others.

In essence, the whole Lunar World had descended into chaos!

.....

Today could be said to be the longest day of Arlo's life...

Not only had he returned from the secret realm where he almost lost his life many times, but he had exposed one of the strongest beings in the Lunar World as a corrupted, setting into motion a catastrophe...

He had fulfilled his word of killing Jude but at the cost of what? He had taken many innocent lives just because of his revenge over something insignificant...

And now he found out that him, unexpectedly revealing Emperor Razor's secret identity might have endangered the life of the person who had helped him since the first day he entered the Lunar world...

The roars together with Arianne's cries died down from Arlo's ears, as he stood on the spot with a blank look on his face. He didn't know when the tears spilled from his eyes like water from a broken dam, but what Arlo did know was the suffocating feeling that gripped his two hearts so tightly.

'What have I done?'

While they still didn't know about Scarlett's status, the fact that the vampires had reacted so intensely showed that something bad must have happened. Something unusual, one that made them restless...

His mind was entirely clouded, Arlo didn't even notice when the three Lords and Evangeline turned into dark lights that charged into the distance.

Stefan seemed to want to follow them but was quickly shot down by Evangeline's cold voice:

"Stay and watch over them for me!"

Together with the four, several more dark rays exuding great aura and feelings of madness flew into the sky before streaking in the same direction.

The teleportation formation.

.....

Nighttime.

The moon hung in the sky illuminating the world with its gentle glow. While the academy had never been noisy, it had similarly never appeared so deserted.

Within the training center of the first year southern region were two young figures.

One was a dark-haired boy with white reptilian eyes. His eyes were closed as he rubbed the pitch-black snake wrapped around his neck which his friend had just summoned back for him.

The second boy was similarly a boy...a golden-haired boy who sat crossed leg on the ground, with a small cute fox with nine tails lying comfortably in his lap, and a little blue resting slime in his hands.

These two figures were exactly Joe, and Arlo.

The blue slime within Arlo's hand trembled ever so slightly, and he could tell for some reason that she was about to finally awaken.
