Chapter 87: Sea Flies Don't Bother Me

The cobalt black sea horses galloped across the shining waters as the bandits made their move on the Lyre. They grabbed their spears and aimed them high in order to puncture members of the crew and ensure a safe robbery. Everyone looked panicked, even the normally wily captain and witch.

"Man, the cannons!" Archibell shouted.

"Err.... Ah..." Tony said moving his stubby fins. "The Lyre she doesn't have cannons, pal!"

Cut through the air and landed at the captain's feet. "Then the next best plan of action....RUN LIKE YELLOW BELLIED COWARDS!"

Tony patted the captain on his shoulder. "Dat is what you do best!"

The captain glared at him, his remaining fish comrade having struck a nerve.

"Please don't feed me to da fishes!" Troutface whimpered.

"Too late for that," the captain answered. "Considering you are one! Now let's just high tail it out of here!"

Elise whimpered and tugged at his cost. "But we are so close to saving my daddy. Can't we just steal their sea horsies and ride off into the sunset?"

The captain spun the wheel as hard as he could. "We may be in the wild West Sea, kid, but this ain't a western C-movie! I don't exactly follow your logic!"

Tito ran up beside them. "I think I do. We just need to get the riders off their bucking broncos and we can make a smooth getaway."

As the horses gave chase, Elise and her friends puzzled their minds over how they could dehorse the horse riders.

Sincirce smirked, magic dancing at her finger tips. "I know just the plan," the Witch giggled. "Let them get up close and let me work my....magic!"

Archibell continued to weave between giant sea cacti as the mysterious masked bandits gave chase. Indeed, their horses skirted perfectly along the surface, propelling them closer and closer. "I hope you know what you're doing, you wily witch!" Archibell shouted. "Else we're gonna end up with more holes in us than a sea sponge!"

Sincirce wiggled her hips and smirked mischievously. "Well then," she smirked. "Get ready for a true spectacle!"

The witch raised her hands in the air and gave a loud spell casting chant. "Sea fly, don't bother me, Sea Flies, go bother them!"

Sincirce's normally demure head enlarged to the size of a giant sail and she opened her mouth wide. A massive plague of ocean gnats spewed out of her jaw and began zooming straight towards the bandits and their steeds

As Sincirce's head returned to normal, she laughed hard. "There's nothing a horse finds more annoying than something nibbling their tails!"

The flies, like a barrage of pepper, began to harass the sea horses. When they reached their tails, they flew in for a chomp. The black sea horses let out loud neighs and stopped dead in their tracks, causing the riders to launch into the air.

Sincirce wiped her hands clean and began to walk off. "My work here is done, boys...and Elise!"

"Don't get such a big head like you did before ya hag!" Tony barked.

"Why?" Sincirce asked, opening her smugly closed eyes.

"Turn out..." Tony muttered.

Sincirce did and she nearly fainted. Almost all of the riders had flown off their horses and onto the deck of the Lyre. Even worse, they pointed their spears right at everyone's head.
