Chapter 51: The 🍬Candy Crush Life🍭: The Grind Begins🕹

After finishing level 1, I tried to learn all the game systems and the world system. There are shops, a roulette thingy, livestream, world message, level thingy, and many, many other things. It's truly complicated, but at least I understand the basics.

In the shops, there are a lot of things to buy, including food and objects like appliances. They range from 2 to 500 game points. I can buy things I can't easily buy in the original world by playing? Let's try it. 3 game points cost a chocolate, and it did show up. It's an expensive brand of chocolate, but I still bought it for just 3 points, and it tastes normal, like chocolate. This is truly awesome.

There are lots of food, gadgets, everything that's impossible to buy when I am on Earth, but I can buy it by playing. Is all of this true??? I tried to look at world communication systems, and it seems people around the world indeed experience what I experience, but they are playing different games... But suddenly the messages became dark...

People are asking for help... People are saying they're dying... Unknown messages... And there are disturbing messages, some telling everyone to watch popular livestreams, and it showed up... Death games, they are fighting to the death... I quickly turned off the system because the videos showed absolute realism, like the cutting of hands, killing each other, too much blood, just too much gore... Just what the hell happened.

Is the world we lived truly gone??? I tried to sleep it off, maybe I would wake up from this crazy dream, but the death games I saw still came to my mind... I can't sleep... If this is all true, what happened to my mama, my 10 siblings... Are they... they... I'm starting to lose hope with the absolute quietness I am faced with, only me alone in this confined space...

*Ding! Ding! Ding!* A bell... What's that? I tried to look around, but there's nothing there. I'm not hallucinating; I should have heard it... Where is it? I open the system, and there it is: a message icon. I tap it, and I see my mother's name... She is alive.

Thank God, all of my siblings are also safe. Thank God they only play this game, thank God we are poor that we cant afford to play those death games. It's great they only play Candy Crush almost all their life. Well, we only have one game on Mom's phone, so they only played this game...

Candy Crush is not too much of a death game... If you lose a life, you still have 4, and it will refill after 10 minutes. Apparently, Mom played the game and reached almost level 20. She also experienced losing a life; apparently, losing a life feels like a little ache in the heart. So she concludes that if we lose all 5 lives, maybe we will die... She made sure to tell us all this information.

Luckily, our youngest at least knows how to read, so she understands this. Mom also tells us to save our game points for food. If we need game points, she is willing to donate some to us, and it is possible... It's like how we are on Earth; she is still loving and caring for us, willing to sacrifice herself for us.

Our father's existence is still unknown. Well, he does not play Candy Crush a lot, and he has his own phone. My mom is trying to contact him, but it seems it is hard to contact a person in a different game. We are just lucky that each one of us is only playing one game. But I know my father will survive; he is strong and hardworking. He won't die just like that.

And so, that's how my new life of playing Candy Crush begins. As the oldest, I need to obtain game points too. If Mom can do it, I can do it too. Let the GRIND BEGIN.

Yes!!! Level 52 cleared. It's been 3 weeks since the world has changed. I've obtained a lot of game points and I already adjust on my new life.

I bought some important furniture and appliances for myself as I earned my own game points. Winning is hard, especially when you must make sure not to lose a life. And losing a life gives heartache, and the more you lose, the more painful it is, so I choose to wait first rather than to risk my lives.

*Ding ding ding!!*

"A person has reached level 100! In Candy Crush, they will obtain Candy City, the place for socializing and seeing your loved ones in the game. May you have more fun playing this game."

This... this is it... I can see them again. I can see my family again. Whoever reached Level 100, thanks to you.
