Chapter 13: Zelut's Power: A Battle of Magic and Fire

With Zelut's formidable magical prowess and the reinforcement of additional troops, we managed to turn the tide of the battle. Zelut, being a Level 3 wizard, proved to be an invaluable asset in decimating the goblin forces. Hope had not entirely abandoned us.

As the goblins began to retreat, a surge of them rushed toward us, drawn by our position deep within the battlefield. Exhausted and battered, I realized that a full-scale retreat was necessary. The sheer numbers of retreating goblins made our location increasingly perilous.

Reluctantly, we decided to retreat as well, fighting our way back from the heart of the goblin horde.

As we attempted to make our escape, a colossal and exceptionally formidable goblin emerged from the chaos. It towered above even the giant goblins, its grotesque appearance hinting at its immense strength. With a roar, it charged toward us, blocking our path to safety.

Zelut, our Level 3 wizard, took a determined stance, ready to confront this menacing foe. With a focused gaze, he summoned his strongest magic, creating a swirling vortex of flames. The intense heat radiated from the magical tempest as it bore down on the colossal goblin.

The goblin fought back with tremendous ferocity, swatting aside fireballs and attempting to resist the magical onslaught. But Zelut's mastery over his powers was evident as he pushed the limits of his magic to its peak.

Despite Zelut's valiant efforts, exhaustion eventually overtook him, his magical reserves depleted. The colossal goblin, though wounded, pressed on, delivering a devastating blow that sent Zelut sprawling.

As the dust settled, it was clear that Zelut had given his all, but the colossal goblin still stood, wounded but triumphant. Our retreat had been halted, and it seemed that the situation had taken a dire turn.

With my energy drained and exhaustion weighing heavily on me, I still try to fight . I quickly assessed the surroundings, spotting a pile of dead goblins rubble nearby. I decided to lure the colossal goblin toward it.

As the goblin lunged at me, I dodged its attack, leading it toward the dead goblin rubble. With a swift maneuver, I triggered a collapse then I use a fireball with all my energy, causing a very strong burn to rain down upon the colossal goblin.

The impact greatly burned the goblin, but it continued to advance, shrugging off the burn it feel. Despite my efforts, I could not muster the strength for a decisive blow, and the colossal goblin pushed through my defenses, leaving me battered and defeated.

As my consciousness waned, I witnessed an unexpected turn of events. The colossal goblin, instead of finishing us off, hoisted me onto its back. I glanced over and saw Zelut being similarly carried. My fading strength prevented me from resisting, and as I tried desperately to stay awake, a combination of injuries, exhaustion, and overwhelming fatigue overcame me. I slipped into unconsciousness, my fate uncertain as the colossal goblin carried us away from the battlefield.

The soldiers of the city fought valiantly. The goblin forces were in retreat, unable to withstand the might of the heavy knights' armor and strength, the wizard's fiery onslaught, and the vikings' ferocious charges. The goblins were being swiftly routed, and victory seemed within grasp.

The troops celebrated the impending triumph, their spirits high as they drove the goblins back. Laron, the assistant, approached the heavy knight and asked if they had seen the chief.

"Did you see the chief?" Laron inquired anxiously. The heavy knight shook his head and replied, "We didn't. Zelut was the one who aided him."

Suddenly, a viking came rushing toward them, breathless and alarmed. "The chief and Zelut—they've been taken!" he exclaimed, instantly transforming the atmosphere from one of celebration to grave concern.
