There's a recurring glitch in the story here, that I just noticed and am surprised that no one else has noticed before:

Sera's mother's name is "Fanny"; it's a name that's dropped in popularity over time since the 19th century due to the slang associated to it.  For whatever reason, it seems about half the time the spell checker wants to mangle this name horribly...  Sometimes it becomes Fannie, sometimes Franny, and sometimes Frannie -- and no one caught the glitch until I noticed it this morning.

Chapter 10, she's introduced as "Fanny".

As soon as Chapter 11, she's "Franny".

And from there on, her name seems to alternate back and forth between the two, with an occasional "ie" instead of "y" tossed in for good measure.

Since this is such a common glitch, I'm *NOT* going to worry about editing and correcting everything written so far.  When the book/arc is finished, this can be easily corrected in my  manuscript with a "Search & Replace All" type command, since it's all a single document.  On the forums however, it's  a task of opening each chapter, searching and replacing those instances -- and there's a ton of them!

More work than it's worth, in my opinion, so I ask that readers either make that simple mental adjustment themselves and remember that Franny, Fanny, Fannie, and Frannie are all the same person -- FANNY.   If it helps, think of the alternative spellings as a "nickname" for her, since the actual name has fallen out of style  for many modern names.

As to WHY she has such a name, that's because I like to choose names whose meaning matches the character's personality.  The name derives from the orphic god "Fannes", the creator of the world in the ancient Greek mythology. The word means "bright and energetic" in Greek -- can anyone think of anything more fitting for her personality?  ;)

EDIT: Thanks to my obsessive need to try and keep things correct for the readers, I went back and corrected about 30 glitches with the names from several past chapters. I won't promise that there aren't more out there, or that there won't be any more in future. If you guys seem any, point them out to me and I'll try and make the corrections ASAP.

Evil persistent typos be gone! Do I need to sacrifice a 4-colored pen again to try and get the spell checker to work like it should once more? :P
