Chapter 64: Girl Troubles

Chapter 64: Girl Troubles

“And just where the hell have the two of you been?”  Heather demanded to know, the moment Kylie and Seran appeared in view.  “I thought we were going to conquer this place this weekend!  What kept the two of you?”

“Me took three bath,” Seran exclaimed boldly, while thumping his chest.

Heather blinked a few times in confusion.  “Three baths? What the heck did you need three baths for.”

“Bath one was to get warm from run in icy rain,” Seran exclaimed, as the corner of his mouth began to twitch up and down.  “Bath two was from Kyle in dream.  Him give me bath in man juice.”  Seran’s mouth was beginning to spasm.  “Need third bath to clean up from Kyle bath!”  Finally, he couldn’t contain himself anymore and fell over in a fit of wild girly giggles.

“What the hell is he talking about?”  Heather asked, turning to look at Kylie, who was a bright shade of crimson from top to bottom.

“I don’t know!”  Blushing furiously, Kylie rushed out of the little alcove that they’d been resting in and dashed on down the hallway.   Watching her reaction, Seran collapsed to the ground and giggled uncontrollably while holding his sides.  Tears ran down Seran’s cheek, and he laughed so hard he could barely breath, while Heather just stared dumbfounded and completely lost.

It took several minutes for Seran to compose himself and finally settle down enough for Heather to ask questions once again. “Sera – don’t give me none of this ‘I’m Seran and a man crap’.  Tell me what the hell is going on.  Did something happen with you and Kyle?  You’ve chased him off and he hasn’t come back yet, you know.”

“I know, I know,” Seran replied, apologetically.  “I just couldn’t help it.  He’s just so embarrassed over the whole thing, and it’s really not a big deal at all, and somehow it just makes it oh so funny!”

“What thing?”  Heather prodded, trying to understand.

“Well, let me start at the beginning,” Seran suggested.  “We logged out.  Ate lunch.  Went for a jog.  Nothing too unusual except for the fact that we got caught out in a sudden shower of freezing rain!  By the time we got back to Kyle’s house, I thought I was going to freeze to death or get frostbite!”

“Okaaay…” Heather nodded, showing that she was following so far.

“So, I climbed into his mom’s shower downstairs to get under the hot water,” Seran added.

“I probably would’ve as well,” Heather agreed.  “Heck, almost anyone would’ve.”

“Exactly.  It was cold, we were almost frostbitten, and no one felt like stumbling up the steps to the other shower,” Seran explained.  “It wasn’t long after I was in the shower, Kyle climbed in and joined me.”

“I would’ve neutered him,” Heather threatened, eyes narrowing slightly.

“Maybe you would’ve,” Seran laughed, “but I didn’t mind.  We used to bath together when we were younger anyway.  It’s not that big a deal.  If anyone made a mistake, I guess it was probably me.  I was cold; I knew he was cold; and the shower isn’t that large.  Without even thinking about it, I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him up close to share the water with me.”

“You didn’t!”  Heather gasped and look almost appalled at the very idea.

“I did,” Seran reconfirmed.  “And then one thing led to another.  I started to rub him to warm him up.  He started to rub me.  Next thing I know, this lead into that and well…”  Blushing slightly, she didn’t finish.

“You did the wild thing?!”  Heather half shouted, her voice echoing down the tunnels.  “I’m going to neuter him yet!”

Giggling again, and half blushing, Seran shook his head slowly from side to side.  “Not quite,” he explained.  “We would’ve did the ‘wild thing’, as you called it.  I don’t think it would’ve been bad, if we would’ve – you know?”

“No.  I don’t know.”  Heather snorted and shook her head several times.  “I don’t want to know either, I don’t think!”

“The thing is,” Seran giggled, “we never actually managed to do it.  I guess going from the freezing cold to the sudden warmth of the shower was too much for Kyle.  That and the fact that the shower was just too small and cramped and we couldn’t get a good position to actually do the ‘wild thing’.  There was a lot of rubbing, a good bit of kissing, lots of trying…”

“But,” Seran blushed brightly and giggled again, “let’s just say Kyle showered me with his affection before we could do the ‘wild thing’.”

“So he misfired early.” Heather declared, laughing lightly.

“It’s not really a big deal,” Seran explained, in Kyle’s defense.  “It happens from time to time.”

“Oh really,” Heather smirked, raising an eyebrow questioningly.  “So it’s happened to you before?  You’re used to it now, I guess?”

“No!  It hasn’t happened to me before,” Seran replied, matter-of-factly.  “But it still isn’t a big deal.  It’s not like we can’t try again sometime later and do better you know!”

“Woah!  Woah!”  Lifting up to hands to show she didn’t mean any offense, Heather half laughed herself.  “I’m certain you can,” she agreed.  “That is, assuming that Kyle’s pride isn’t too damaged to try again now.  Laughing like a crazy woman about it in front of him was something meaner than what even I’d do!”

“Well I didn’t mean anything bad about it,” Seran exclaimed.  “It’s just his face and reaction was so cute and embarrassed, it made me laugh.  He’d tease me if I’d did something embarrassing,” she added defensively.

“Not about something like that,” Heather warned.  “Most guys are insecure.  You’ve probably embarrassed and scarred him for life.  He might never have the courage to try something like that again with you…  Which is fine by me, if you ask,” Heather laughed.  “It just means I don’t have to share the goodies!”

“I’d told him it wasn’t a big deal!”  Seran snorted.

“And you expected him to believe that?”  Heather asked patiently.

“Well yeah…”

“Then you don’t know guys very well at all, do you?” Heather snorted.

“And you do?!  You don’t even like guys,” Seran sulked.

“I don’t,” Heather agreed, “but that doesn’t mean I don’t understand them.  I think in this case; I seem to understand much better than you do.  I just can’t believe I’m actually sticking up for the little twerp!”

“So I guess I need to find him and apologize?” Seran sighed deeply, hanging his head slightly.

“That’s probably your best bet, if you ever want to try again in the future with him,” Heather nodded, slowly reaching over and hugging Seran – even if the act did make her wrinkle her nose in disgust.

“Fine.  I’ll go apologize.”  Sighing deeply, Seran picked up his massive hammer and slowly walked out of the room.  Grumbling echoes of ‘stupid boys’, ‘no big deal’, ‘get over it’, followed softly in his wake.

Shaking her own head to clear it, Heather waited several moments before she started out of the room herself.  As odd as it was, she felt somewhat sorry for Kyle – and she couldn’t hardly believe it!  She’d never thought she’d ever care about how a guy felt ever again.  Slightly troubled herself, she slowly walked down the hall towards where they were fighting last, feeling no need to rush -- Seran and Kylie needed a few moments alone to sort things out between them, and she understood that.

What bothered her the most was her own troubled feelings.  Just why the hell did she even care the slightest about how Kyle was feeling?!
