“You’re crazy!” Sera ran inside, slamming the door behind her.
“Yeouch! Watch it,” Kyle warned. “I’m just as co… col... cold as you are!”
Shivering, Sera tugged her soaked sweatshirt off and tossed in into the floor, uncaring that Kyle could see her in her lacy pale pink bra. Her long red hair stuck wet and damp to her back and she half hopped kicking off her shoes. “Let’s go for a jog. Le… let’s stay … stay in shape.” Her teeth were chattering and she was using blowing in her hands and trying to use them to rub some warmth into her arms.
“Who th… th... hell go… goes jogging in th… the mid.. middle of win… winter?!” Teeth chattering, Sera was starting to pull off her sweatpants. Letting them drop around her ankles, she half hopped towards the bathroom.
“How was I su… supposed to know it was going to come a freezing rain!” Kyle wasn’t shivering quite as hard, as he’d doubled up on his clothes before going running. He’d wanted to work up a good sweat, to help him stay in shape, and the extra sweatshirt and pair of pants had helped protect him a little better from the cold. His cheeks still felt icy and frozen, and his fingers and toes were cold and numb; but he seemed to be doing better than Sera.
“You... you… you check the… the… wet… wet… wetter… first!” Sera’s teeth were shivering too hard to even say the word ‘weather’, as she headed out of the living room.

“Sor… Sorry!” Kyle tried to apologize as he tugged off his own damp clothes. By the time he’d stripped down to his underwear, the sound of water running in the first floor shower was loud and clear. Half trembling, he followed the train of discarded feminine underclothes and headed into the downstairs’ bathroom. “Ma.. make room,” Kyle warned, “I’m co… coming in!”
Hot steam filled the air the moment he slid back the shower door, and Sera half jumped. “Ky.. Kyle!”
“Hu.. hush it!” Blushing slightly, Kyle finally yanked off his briefs and stepped up into the shower. “My legs and feet are too co.. col… cold to try and go up tho… those steps!”
“Id… Idiot!” Wrapping her arms around his neck, Sera pulled Kyle tightly up against her and under the water as much as possible. “You… you almost fro… froze us to death!”
Shivering from the cold, there was nothing Kyle could say in response.

For several long moments, Kyle and Sera enjoyed the feeling of each other’s warmth and the warmth of the hot water as it cascaded down and around them. Gradually, the hot water began to run out; but by that time, another source of steam had continued to fog up the mirrors.
When the hot water was completely used up and gone, neither Kyle nor Sera noticed. They’d already ignited a fire that wouldn’t be quenched by something as trivial as a cold shower.
