Year 2020: Astronomers discover a large asteroid named "53 Icarus" has shifted directions and is now heading straight for Earth. This event marks the deviation from Christopher and Kristine's original world. The asteroid is estimated to collide with Earth around 2030.
Year 2025: Governments around the world begin constructing underground shelters to protect their citizens from the impending asteroid strike. Global cooperation increases in an attempt to find possible ways to prevent or minimize the catastrophic event. Unfortunately, people with criminal records or the mentally impaired are denied a spot in the shelters. Riots erupt worldwide, with tensions escalating over the selection, resulting in widespread violence and chaos. After a few months, the riots are put down but countless lives are lost.
Year 2030: The Icarus asteroid strikes Earth, initiating the Icarus Calamity. People find refuge in government shelters, while many others outside the shelters perish as the asteroid fragments impact multiple continents, causing major flooding and coastal city destruction. An impact winter follows, with the southern hemisphere maintaining enough warmth to survive.
Year 2036: The impact winter ends and those who survived in the shelters venture out to reclaim their homes. They encounter fierce animals and wastelanders with strange powers, known as Psi Beast and Psions, who have taken over the land. They discover that something from the asteroid has caused mutations in humans and animals. Many shelter inhabitants die from the conflicts until they too begin to develop Psionic powers. Individuals from military and scientific shelters use stockpiled weapons paired with their new Psionic powers to begin reclaiming the land.

Year 2050: Cities are established across reclaimed territories to train and nurture the new generation of Psions. A registration system is created, and it plays a crucial role in rebuilding society, with Psions emerging as the new ruling class.
Year 2060: An internet troll is reborn into this new world as twins, Christopher and Kristine, members of a prestigious Psion family. Most of the East Coast of the United States has been reclaimed, but regions to the west remain overrun with Psi Beasts and tribes formed by wastelanders. Reclamation efforts on other continents have been difficult, as they were more severely impacted by the Icarus Calamity.
Year 2074: Christopher and Kristine register as Psions, but the registration center is attacked, leaving their father hospitalized. Their grandfather decides to hold a party to celebrate the new Psions in their family.
