Kristine returned to class after saying goodbye to her brother. In the classroom, she could feel that something was different. Her classmates were looking at her with pity and concern. She didn't understand what was going on until she saw a group of girls huddled together whispering and gossiping.
Kristine approached the girls, and they looked at her with a mix of pity and curiosity. "Kristine, we heard about what happened to Christopher," one of the girls said, her voice sympathetic. "Are you okay?”
Kristine was taken aback. Most of the girls in class would treat her poorly, but now they were showing concern and compassion for her. Of course, some of them were Christopher's fangirls and had never been outright hostile to her.
"Wow," Kristine thought to herself as she observed all the girls in class showing her concern and compassion. "I didn't expect this from them."
She decided to play along, and nodded her head solemnly. This was the perfect opportunity. She took a deep breath and let out a fake sob, tears streaming down her cheeks. She had practiced this many times before, and she knew that she could pull it off.
Kristine looked at her classmates, her eyes all watery. "I don’t know what to do about Christopher," she said, her voice trembling. "I feel like I failed as a sister."
"Aww, don't say that, Kris," said one of the girls, her voice filled with pity. "You're such a nice girl and an amazing sister..”
Kristine let out a small sob. "I know, it's just that I feel so guilty. Like I should have been able to do something to stop this."
"It's not your fault, Kristine," another girl said, trying to comfort her. "It's not like you could have known that Christopher was going to get punched. He was just defending himself."
The boys and girls looked at Kristine, their eyes filled with sympathy and pity. They saw her beautiful, tear-stained face and they felt sorry for her. They thought that she was the perfect sister, the one who was always there for her brother.
"999 Love Points from..."
"637 Love Points from..."
"520 Love Points ..."
After her classmates took their time to comfort her, Kristine excused herself and went to the restroom to clean up. She locked herself in a stall and looked at herself in the mirror, her eyes cold and calculating.
Kristine let out a small smile as she looked at herself in the mirror, her eyes cold and calculating. "I'll do whatever it takes to get more Love Points," she thought to herself, as she got lost in her vanity.
She opened the system window to check the love and hatred points she and Christopher had accumulated during the basketball playoffs.
Love Points: 29656
Hatred Points: 18120
"I should start enhancing my beauty right away," Kristine thought, as she examined her looks in the mirror. "I can earn so many more points while everyone is feeling sorry for me.
She opened the Angel lottery and used her love points to purchase 148 beauty trait books, focusing on enhancing her facial features. She watched in amazement as her golden irises became even more mesmerizing, with depths like a galaxy.
Suddenly, a new notification from the system appeared. It was one that she had never seen before.
"New feature has been unlocked. Congratulations, you have maxed out the Beauty (Facial) trait. Granting reward."
Mesmerizing Stare: Stop the motion of everyone who looks into your eyes for 3 seconds. Cooldown: 1 hour. "
"What is this? I've never seen this before," Kristine thought, confused. "System, what is this new feature?"
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
"You two never asked," the system replied. "But the traits from the system have a limit and you will be rewarded when you reach it. I can only remodel your body so much."
"So is it the same amount of points to unlock the skills?" Kristine asked, still trying to understand the new information.
"No, the system can only improve your traits until they can't be improved anymore," the system explained. "The only reason you were able to max out this beauty skill so quickly was because you were naturally beautiful and started at a better baseline. It's easier to max out a trait if you already possess some of it naturally.
Kristine pondered for a moment. "Can you tell us when we are able to max out a trait?" she asked. "And does maxing out a skill give anything?"
The system replied instantaneously. "No, I cannot. This is to prevent you from tunnel visioning and neglecting your skills. Maxing out a skill does not give you anything but the knowledge is its own reward."
"Well, that's disappointing," Kristine said, a hint of frustration in her voice. "I was hoping for some kind of reward for all the skills I purchased.”
Kristine decided to test her new 'Mesmerizing Stare" ability in the mirror. Her eyes seemed to gain stars as they spiraled like a real galaxy. "Wow, why do they look so beautiful," Kristine said, admiring her eyes and the effects of this new skill.
Just then, a girl walked out of one of the stalls and saw Kristine and her reflection. She stared at her in shock, her mouth hanging open in awe. The girl stumbled and dropped her phone that she was holding, her hands and body froze as she stared at Kristine. Her phone fell to the floor but her eyes were still glued to Kristine's face. Kristine giggled before helping the student pick up her phone. The phone glass in this era was a lot stronger and there wasn't even a scratch.
"Wow, Kris, you're so pretty," the girl, her voice filled with admiration as she received her phone from Kristine. Kristine and her brother's looks were renowned throughout the school and there wasn't a single student who didn't know about it. It still didn't prepare the girl for seeing it up close and in person.
Kristine smiled at her, knowing that she had stunned her with her ability. "Thanks," she said, feeling a sense of satisfaction. She felt amazed at her new ability. "Thanks," Kristine said, her voice cool and collected. She knew that her mesmerizing gaze had left the girl frozen in awe, and she couldn't help but feel powerful.
"This will come in handy," Kristine thought to herself, feeling safer and in control. She could use it to get away from creeps and even in combat. Three seconds was a long time in a fight. By now, she was wondering how her brother Christopher was reacting to this newly discovered system feature.

Mr. Daniels pulled up to the mansion with Christopher in tow, and the servants were waiting at the gate. They had been shocked to find out that Master Christopher was suspended. They had known him since he was a child, and they couldn't believe that he had gotten into a fight and hurt someone.
"Master Christopher, what happened?" Ms. Smith, the head maid asked with concern. "Why did the principal suspend you?"
Christopher walked past her, not bothering to answer her question. He knew the servants were worried, but he couldn't look them in the eye. He knew his changing behavior had begun to upset those who had cared for him since childhood. He didn't like it, but he knew he needed the hatred points. The guilt gnawed at him.
Ms. Smith watched him go, her eyes watered with tears. She had known Christopher since he was a child, and she couldn't believe how much he was changed. He was a bookworm who would never hurt a fly. He used to spend hours reading and studying, and he was one of the smartest and kindest children she had ever known. But now, he was cruel and malicious, and she didn't know what had caused this transformation.
She shook her head and muttered to herself, "What happened to you, Master Christopher? What happened to the boy we all know and love?" She couldn't help but feel guilty, thinking there was something she could have done something to prevent this. She could only hope that Christopher would snap out of it one day and return to his old kind self.

In his room, Christopher stared at his reflection in the mirror as he examined his broken nose. He couldn't help but notice his eyes had become deeper and more mesmerizing and the pain of his broken nose subsiding. He realized that Kristine must have been using the love points to enhance their beauty and he felt a surge of annoyance and frustration.
"Kristine, what are you doing?" He muttered to himself, annoyed that Kristine was wasting the love points on something as superficial as beauty. "What good is beauty when aging and injuries can take it away," he thought as he rubbed his sore nose. He knew that the enhancements from the love and hatred points applied to both of them, and he thought that they should be used on learning new skills.
But then he saw the same message that had shocked Kristine. Kristine had maxed out the amount of Beauty (Face) trait books and unlocked a new feature as a result.
"Well, damn," Christopher said, as he examined his swirling eyes in the mirror. "Looks like I have a lot of work to do."
He began to realize that he had been wrong. Maxing out the beauty trait had given them an amazing combat skill. He knew that he needed to start using the love and hatred points more strategically than ever. This was just the beginning and he was excited to discover more hidden features of the system.
