Kristine leaned back on the Bavarian bull leather car seats, staring out of the window as the car headed towards the academy. She was 14 years old now and in her final year of middle school. Besides her, Christopher was playing with the latest smartphone, marveling at the technological advances of this alternate Earth. This world was about a decade ahead of the one Kristine and Christopher had reincarnated from. Their driver, Mr. Daniels was as alert as ever. His eyes darted side to side as he watched for potential threats to his young charges.
Kristine was wearing her favorite skirt and blouse combo with the emblem of Hudson Prep School, the private school that they attended. She also had the private school's navy blue sweater vest as required by the dress code. Her face showed no signs of acne or pimples despite being in the midst of puberty. She was simply too gorgeous for words.
The traits she and her brother obtained from the system had kept their appearance in perfect condition, making them quite popular among their peers.
As the car approached the school entrance, Kristine couldn't help but feel self-conscious about her changing body. She was growing breasts and hips, and she was developing curves in all the places that used to be flat. She didn't know how to deal with these changes and felt like a stranger in her own skin.
One of the most frustrating things for Kristine was the soreness in her breasts. She was only 14 and wasn't used to having such large and tender breasts. They were a constant reminder of her new and unfamiliar femininity and it made her feel awkward and uncomfortable. And she didn't even want to think about the discomfort and pain that she had experienced during her periods.
Kristine couldn't help feeling envious of her twin brother, who had already experienced male puberty in his past life. Nothing was unfamiliar to him.
The car eventually pulled up to the school and came to a gentle stop. Kristine stepped outside where she was greeted by her fan club, a group of adoring admirers waiting for her arrival. She smiled sweetly and waved at her fans, striking a cute pose. She blew kisses to the crowd, reveling in the attention.
"Kris, we love you!" the crowd yelled. They were initially confused about Kristine's insistence on being called Kris because it sounded the same as her brother's nickname. But they eventually got used to it, even though it still sounded like they were addressing both twins. The fact that Christopher's looks were just as amazing as her sister also helped.
“801 Love Points from ….”
“865 Love Points from ….”
“777 Love Points from ….”
Christopher rolled his eyes, already used to his sister's act but he couldn't help feeling a little envious of the amount of Love Points she was able to generate from her fan club.
He wished Hatred Points would come just as easily for them.
Once the commotion had died down, the twins continued on their way into the school. They were greeted by admiring glances from their classmates and peers as they made their way to their classroom.
**
Once the twins settled into their seats at the front of the class, they began to pay attention to the teacher's lesson.
"Good morning, class," the teacher said as she stood at the front of the classroom. "Today, we will be discussing a topic that may be a bit unsettling for some of you. I am sure you all heard about the military transport that was attacked by Psi Beast a few days ago.”
The students paled and nodded as they recalled the news. Psi Beasts were the bogeyman of this era. Although none of the students had ever seen one in person, they were often used by their parents as a way to scare them into behaving.
"As you all know, the asteroid Icarus struck the earth in 2030 and caused widespread destruction 44 years ago. But it also had a strange effect on some of the animals and humans that survived the impact. They developed strange powers and were dubbed Psions and Psi Beasts. And these Psi Beasts are everywhere out in the wilderness, and they can be dangerous if provoked. It's important that you always be aware of your surroundings and use caution when exploring outside the city limits."
Another student spoke up, "What can we do to protect ourselves from these Psi Beast?"
"Well, first things, you can try to negotiate. It's important to remember that these animals are not mindless beasts. They're not inherently aggressive. They have their own motivations and desires. If you can reason with them, it might be possible to avoid violence."
"But if that fails, arm yourselves. Grab a weapon if you can and make yourself look as threatening as possible. These intelligent animals know it's not worth the risk of getting injured. Incurring an injury can be potentially fatal, especially without access to human medicine."

"Ultimately, the best defense against Psi Beasts is to stay alert and avoid such an encounter in the first place.
The class sat in silence, taking in the teacher's words.
"But it's not the animals you have to worry about. There are also humans with Psionic powers, and some of them use their abilities for selfish or malicious purposes. They can be manipulative and dangerous, so it's important to always be on your guard.
The class nodded in understanding, grateful for the guidance of their teacher.
As the teacher ended his lecture, Kristine noticed a shy boy sitting in the back of the class. He kept stealing glances at her, blushing whenever their eyes met. She smiled back, enjoying the attention from her admirer. The boy seemed familiar but she wasn't able to recall his name until she glanced at the system notification that appeared.
999 Love Points from David Moreno
David Moreno. She recognized the name from one of the notifications earlier this morning. Through testing, the twins discovered that there was a 30-minute cooldown for obtaining points from someone after they generated the maximum value of 999.
As Kristine continued to receive the shy boy's adoration, she couldn't help but feel a little guilty.
She recalled that David Moreno was a poor boy who had only gotten into the private academy on a scholarship. They'd been in the same study session once since they were both amongst the top students in their grade. She could tell he had a crush on her even then. But she knew that she would never be interested in him, no matter how much he liked her.
If David ever confessed, she would let them down gently just like all the other boys who had confessed to her. After all, she had been a male in her past life and felt uncomfortable at the idea of being in a relationship with a boy.
**
As the lesson came to an end, David could no longer contain his feelings for Kristine. He waited until the other students had left the classroom, and then he approached her nervously.
Kristine saw the anticipation and excitement in his eyes, and she braced herself for what was to come.
After all, she and David were the only ones left in the empty classroom. It was easy to predict what was coming next.
"Kristi- I mean Kris," the boy began, his voice trembling with emotion. "Please go out with me. I loved you ever since I first saw you.”
Kristine sighed, having experienced this same situation countless times before. She knew that she could never return his feelings, no matter how much he cared for her.
"I'm sorry," Kristine said gently, trying to let the boy down gently.
David's face fell. He looked crushed by Kristine's rejection. He had clearly put his heart on the line, and he was devastated to have it rejected.
Kristine felt a twinge of guilt and regret as she continued.
"I'm sorry," Kristine repeated, trying to comfort the boy. "It's just that I'm not interested in dating anyone right now."
The boy nodded sadly, his eyes downcast. He looked like he was on the verge of tears, and Kristine felt a surge of compassion for him. She reached out and placed a her hand on his shoulder, trying to offer some small measure of comfort.
"I'm sorry," Kristine said again, feeling helpless and awkward. "I hope that you can forgive me and that we can still be friends.
David breathed deep and nodded, trying to compose himself. "It's okay," he said softly, looking up at Kristine with a sad smile. "Well, it was a long shot, but I had to try.”
With that, she gave him a sad smile and left the classroom. David was left standing alone inside, his heart shattered and broken.
Kristine sighed, feeling a sense of frustration and exhaustion wash over her. As she walked down the school corridor, she overheard the whispers and snickering of the other girls.
“Looks like the whore got another one,” said the first girl, with clear disdain in her voice.
"Yeah, she's such a tease," the second girl said with a sneer. "I bet she gets some kind of satisfaction out of leading them on like that."
Kristine knew that they were talking about her and her habit of leading boys on, never accepting their confessions. She couldn't help it, though. She simply wasn't interested in boys in that way. But the other girls didn't understand that. They saw Kristine's beauty and popularity, and they were jealous.
She could already see the Hatred points piling up as they glared at her with envious eyes.
"163 Hate Points ..."
"210 Hate Points ..."
Kristine tried to ignore them and focus on getting to her next class, but it was difficult. She couldn't help feeling self-conscious, knowing that the other girls were talking about her behind her back.
Kristine wished she could ignore it but she knew that was impossible. But she knew that the gossip and jealousy would follow her wherever she went.
As a someone with a past life, she thought she was above childish teenage drama but it was affecting her more than she thought.
"It's strange how the body can manipulate the mind," Kristine sighed, her brow furrowed in thought. "In my past life, I would’ve never care for petty gossip.”
