The Day I Hated You
Chapter 30 - Double Date

Chapter 30 - Double Date

Tevin rode his bike, his jacket billowing in the wind. Thoughts of Rehaan consumed his mind.

'I became a singer for you, Rehaan. I wanted to show you that I can take control of my life. I hope you'll see me succeed, always watching over me. I know I may seem selfish, but my intentions are pure,' he muttered to himself as he sped along.

Arriving at the studio, he parked his bike and walked in. His bandmates - Dhruv, Daksh, and Aarav - were already there. Dhruv played the piano, Daksh was on drums, and Aarav played guitar alongside Tevin.

As soon as he walks in, they start practicing. Tevin's hand starts to ache after an hour.

Aarav notices and suggests, "Hey, why don't we take a 15-minute break?"

"I agree," Dhruv says.

"Sure, sounds good," Tevin replies and takes a seat. He's been coughing, and the others notice.

"Are you okay, Tevin?" Daksh asks.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Tevin responds with a warm smile.

Suddenly, Tevin's phone buzzes. He takes it out of his pocket, unlocks it, and opens the chat. It's a message from Sam. He reads it...

Hey Tevin, just a reminder that you have a date with Maahi and her brother tomorrow at 10 am. Don't let it slip your mind

Tevin grinned. His spirits were lifted after reading Sam's message "Ready to begin?". Tevin inquired,

"Hold on, you seemed exhausted just now, Tevin." Aarav remarked,

"I'm all good now. I've recharged my batteries."

Daksh questioned, "You seem suspicious. Any good news, buddy?"

Tevin glanced at his friends and replied, "You want to know? It's a secret." He smirked.

"Oh...now he's keeping secrets from us," Dhruv teased. T

evin suggested, "Shall we start practicing now?"

"Sure thing, boss," Aarav agreed.

"Guys, if anything good happens, I'll keep you all informed. But for now, I don't want to get my hopes up," Tevin shared.

His teammates nodded and returned to their rehearsal.

Next Day

Sam and Tevin arrive at the beach as planned. Sam dials Maahi's number on his phone.

"Maahi, we're here. Where are you guys?" Sam asks.

"Just come straight ahead. I can see you guys. Look over here. I'm waving my hand. I'm wearing a red dress," she replies.

"Red dress?" he says, scanning the area until he spots her. "Ha, I found you. I'm coming over." He ends the call.

They walk towards Maahi and her friends.

"Tevin," Sam calls out.

"Yeah?" Tevin responds.

"Look over there, you and Rehaan are wearing matching colors."

"Really?" Tevin says, glancing over. "We really do think alike."

"Hey, spill the beans. Did you guys plan this?" Sam teases.

"He doesn't care about me. All he wants is to make Maahi happy. He treats me with such indifference. I long to go back to my college days and become a better person".

"Hey past is past. Now you are a better person. Don't dwell on the past too much. Just move on from that".

I understand that the past is in the past," Tevin acknowledges, glancing at Sam. "But only the person who was hurt can truly comprehend the pain caused by that past event. I accept this sadness, knowing the extent of sorrow I caused. All I wish for is Rehaan to communicate with me like before. That's all. Despite wanting more, I realize I am not entitled to it."

To be continued...
