The third year came to an end and we were all busy with lab practicals because the final exam date had been announced. Our class was split into two groups, and as usual, Tevin and I were in the same group. We always helped each other out. Our professor came and provided a lot of assistance when we were together. I have to admit, she had her favorites in the class, and I happened to be one of them. I didn't really like the idea, but there wasn't much I could do about it. As the exam days approached, I had more tasks than anyone else in our class - the final exam, lab practical, project, and finally, confessing my feelings to Tevin.
On the day of the final chemistry practical exam, we had a viva in the morning. I was incredibly nervous but had prepared as best as I could. Unfortunately, I ended up messing it up and only answered one question. Tevin helped calm me down and assured me that we could make up for it in the practical portion. It was then Tevin's turn to go inside. I said a prayer for him and when he came out with a smile on his face, I could tell that everything had gone well for him. I was so happy for him. When I asked him about it, he happily confirmed that everything was okay.
When the viva ended, our practical began. We were all given the questions and returned to our seats. I realized I hadn't studied. I felt so nervous, having already messed up my viva, I didn't want to fail this one too. Tevin was jotting down his answers rapidly. I knew he would ace it. He finished in record time and glanced over at me.

"Rehaan, you're struggling with the answer, aren't you?"
"Yeah, I don't think I can do it."
"Don't worry, I'll assist you," he whispered.
"What about yours?"
"It's finished, as soon as I glanced at you, I could tell you were unsure of the answer. I hurried to write it down so I could assist you".
I glanced at him and remained silent.
"Rehaan, time is ticking fast."
"Ha," I replied and began writing.
Once I finished, we both handed our work to the teacher. Then we proceeded with our practical task. We both dove into our assignment. Tevin was deeply focused on his work, and I was too, but unfortunately, I failed on my first attempt. Normally, I excel in practical tasks, but today was different. As I glanced at Tevin, he looked back at me, silently asking if I was okay. I gave him a thumbs up and smiled. Despite feeling nervous, I didn't want to distract Tevin any further. I made another attempt, but this time i couldn't get the same value. At that moment, our professor entered the room and noticed my struggle. She approached me and inquired about the issue. I explained my problem to her. She kindly offered her assistance, which I gratefully accepted. After we finished, the professor instructed me to show my work to the external examiner. I walked over to the external and handed in my answer sheet. The professor went to help other students, and before leaving, I glanced at Tevin. He appeared tense and was clearly grappling with something...
