"What...you guys broke up...seriously?"
"I'm not really in the mood to talk about it right now. Let's just go."
I glance at Tia, noticing the sadness in her eyes. However, Tevin grabs my hand and pleads for us to leave, so I decide to go with him. We walk towards his car and he takes the driver's seat. I quickly call my mother to let her know we have a guest and then settle into the passenger seat. Tevin starts driving the car.
As we arrive at my house, he parks the car and we make our way to the front door. Normally, Tevin is quite talkative when he's driving, but today he remains silent. I can't shake the feeling that something is off, but I don't want to bring it up just yet. I ring the doorbell and my mother opens the door.
"You're here," she says, taking Tevin's hand as they entered "It's great to see you, Tevin"
Tevin smiles. My father was in the hall, reading the newspaper while sitting on a chair.
"Pa, I'm here," I announce.
"Oh, we were waiting for you boys," he responds, looking at us.
"Oh really," I reply, sitting down on the chair with Rehaan.
"Hello, Tevin. How are you?" my father asks.

"I'm fine, uncle."
"Rehaan, how was the exam?" my father turns to me and inquires.
"Well, it wasn't easy, but it wasn't too tough either."
"Did you write down the answers you knew?"
"Yeah, I only knew the answers to a few questions. As for the rest, I'm not really sure. I just hope I don't end up failing".
"Don't be pessimistic. Relax, forget about it. Even if you don't succeed, you can always try again. So, don't stress".
"Yeah, sure."
"How did your exam go, Tevin?"
"It went okay."
"Oh, you don't have to worry, Tevin will definitely pass." I said confidently.
"Keep it up, Tevin. Rehaan speaks highly of you." He mentions with a smile.
"Enough talking, let's go eat." She adds, motioning for Tevin to join us.We all gathered around the dining table.
"Tevin, come here," she says as she serves him fish curry. "It's your favorite salmon curry."
"How did you know, aunty?"
"Rehaan mentioned that it's the fish you like the most," Mom replied kindly.
"Thank you, aunty." He then looks at me, Rehaan. "When did you tell her?"
"When I called her and mentioned that we were coming. She asked me about your favorite dish."
"You didn't have to do that," he says.
"Tevin, it's not a problem. My mother always wants to cook for you. Today is the day."
"Yes, son, don't worry. I am happy," she says. "Now eat the food and give me some credit."
"Okay, aunty," he says and starts eating.
"It's really delicious, aunty."
"Ha, that's a relief then."
Then consume a large amount, my boy," she mentions.
It was a typical family lunch. Following the meal, we both settled in my room. Tevin was seated in silence.
"Tevin, what's wrong?" I inquire.
"What?"
"I'm not sure, but something seems off." I observe him and comment. He gazes at me, closes his eyes, and inhales deeply.
"How did you figure out that something's bothering me?"
"I know. Now, tell me what's going on."
"Rehaan, I'm facing an issue and it's really bothering me."
"What's the matter?"
