Chapter 27 - The Wound Inside Rehaan

Chapter 27 - The Wound Inside Rehaan

Amusement Park

Rehaan arrives at the location, sporting a pink t-shirt. His disheveled hair suggests that he was in a hurry to get here. Upon entering the park, he quickly grabs his phone and dials Maahi's number. She picks up the call.

"Maahi, where are you? I'm here," he informs her.

Can you come to seat number 5, brother? Maahi asks.

"Seat number 5, got it," he replies and makes his way towards the designated spot.

Seat 5 happens to be near a small aquarium. Rehaan takes a seat on the bench and starts observing the fish swimming around.

Lost in his thoughts, he suddenly hears someone calling out, "Excuse me?"

Turning around, Rehaan is surprised to see Tevin standing behind him. His eyes widen in disbelief. He never expected to run into Tevin here. Tevin is dressed in a purple hoodie, blue skinny jeans, a black mask, and a black cap.

Tevin takes off his mask and grins. "You caught me quickly," he remarks as he sits down. "No one has ever recognized me in this disguise as fast as you did."

Rehaan stays quiet, creating some distance between them. Tevin gazes at him. "How have you been, Rehaan?" he inquires.

"Fine," Rehaan replies without meeting his eyes.

Meanwhile, Maahi and Sam are hiding behind a tree, observing the scene. An uncomfortable silence hangs in the air, the tension palpable. Tevin wants to break the ice but doesn't want to upset Rehaan. He looks up at the sky and lets out a sigh. Rehaan notices and decides to speak up.

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

"Why did you come here?" Rehaan questions.

Tevin locks eyes with him. "I... I came for Sam," he admits.

Rehaan nods.

"Then why are you here?" asked Rehaan

"I came for Maahi," Rehaan responds, trying to call her. However, Maahi doesn't pick up. He tries again, growing more anxious. Tevin sees this and takes the phone, dialing Sam's number. But Sam doesn't answer either.

Rehaan stands up and starts to walk away. Tevin grabs him from behind.

"Where are you going Rehaan" Tevin inquires

"I can't reach Maahi. I'm getting anxious," Rehaan replies.

Tevin grins. "Relax, don't worry. Take a seat. I have something to tell you," he reassures.

"Tevin, I know you may not care, but I do. My sister's safety is my priority right now. I need to find her, so please give me some space," Rehaan insists, pulling away.

Tevin tightens his grip on Rehaan's hands. "I understand your concern, but what if they planned this to bring us together?"

"What?" Rehaan questions. "What are you trying to say?"

"I mean, Sam called me here, claiming he needed help and was sitting in seat 5. But it was you," Tevin explains. "Didn't Maahi mention something similar to you?"

"No, she specifically instructed me to come over here and wait for her in this very spot."

"Absolutely, I believe their intention was to foster a friendship between us. It seems like they had it all planned out."

"No chance, I never mentioned to Maahi that I was acquainted with you."

"I understand, but on the day we initially crossed paths at the cafe, your behavior was quite impolite, and I'm certain Maahi picked up on it. Isn't that glaringly obvious, Rehaan?"

"Why is it that whenever I'm in your company, I always end up getting hurt?" Rehaan expresses.

Tevin was taken aback by Rehaan's words, unsure of how to respond. "I understand, but you've never made an effort to understand me either, Rehaan," he finally says, trying to defend himself.

Rehaan's anger only intensifies. "Hold on...now you're accusing me, Tevin. Have you forgotten all the things you've done to me?" he retorts, his voice filled with frustration.

"Rehaan, please listen to me," Tevin pleads, moving closer in an attempt to calm him down.

In a fit of rage, Rehaan grabs Tevin's shoulder. "What is there to listen to, Tevin? Just get the hell out of my life. I don't want to see you anymore. I hate you, you scumbag!" he shouts, his anger boiling over.

Tevin remains silent, not interrupting or saying anything. He simply stands there, absorbing the rage emanating from Rehaan.

To be continued...
