But although Diana was feeling some goosebumps on her hand after listening to the response of the lady in front of her, the captain of the Storm Pirates couldn't help but slightly touch her chin.
"Although the Storm Pirates currently lack a ship doctor, you should understand that joining a pirate crew is not a simple process after all I can't allow everyone to join at will, so don't be disappointed," said Diana as she looked at the woman in front of her.
"The fact that you've considered allowing me to join the crew could already be seen as quite the major victory for me," said Morgana as she stared straight at Diana with a smile on her face, causing the former vampire, who had become something much more human like as she spent more and more time in this new world.
"That's quite a liberal and optimistic idea, hopefully you can pass my standards and become a member of of my crew," said Diana as she took another look at Morgana, her eyes continuing to look through the eyes of the so-called doctor, as if trying to find any sort of things that the princess had hidden.
Sadly though, Morgana's hid her thoughts quite well, making it so that not even Diana could see through her, at very easily that is.
"So what kind of standards do you have?" asked Morgana as she suddenly took a step forward, towards the pirate who was standing on another roof.
A moment later, Morgana suddenly moved her head to the side, dodging the punch that would've otherwise hit her right in the head, causing Diana to faintly smile before disappearing from the sight of the Princess.
"You can be considered to have passed, now let's see where your limit lays," mumbled Beatrice as she suddenly let out a sweeping kick, this time much faster than before.
Thankfully though, Diana's voice managed to alert Morgana of her location and intention, allowing her to react in time and move backwards, dodging the kick.
A fraction of a moment later, Morgana suddenly felt a something tap her shoulder, but in an instant, before she could react in the slightest, a fist suddenly slammed into her face without any resistance, sending her flying from the roof, as well as Diana to appear faintly surprised.
"She's still conscious? She's quite resistant to beatings..." mumbled Diana as she suddenly moved, arriving below the falling Morgana in just an instant, before catching her.
A fraction of a moment later, Morgana's elbow suddenly smashed itself against Diana's face, causing the Princess to suddenly freeze.
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
"Even your attack power is quite good, I could probably allow you to join my crew even if you aren't a doctor," said Diana as she allowed Morgana to jump out of her hands, whilst holding her still hurting elbow of course.
"I wanted to become your ship doctor, was all of this really necessary?" asked Morgana as she touched her face, checking it for damage, internal or external.
"Not really, but that was rather fun, wasn't it?" asked Diana, causing Morgana to clench her fists.
Sadly though, as she remembered the pain she felt as she smashed her elbow against the face of the pirate in front of her, Morgana stopped her actions, not being a masochist.
In fact, Morgana was a normal human being, at least that was what the Princess hoped.
"Yea, it was rather 'fun'..." said Morgana, emphasizing the word 'fun', as she gritted her teeth.|
"See? I knew that you'd like it, now what's your name?"
"Morgana"
"Now let's go Morgana, we need to be somewhere soon, we can test your medical skills over there, overwise I feel as though something may happen to my vice-captain," said Diana, causing a look of doubt to appear on the face of the Princess.
...
As she stared at the scene in front of her, which was filled by countless corpses, which included dead pirates, soldiers and even normal people that were infected by the drug, as well as at the single person standing in the middle of it all, Morgana couldn't help but feel a sense of doubt.
"Did I underestimate the potency of the drug that much, It shouldn't be able to alter the senses of someone powerful enough to do something like this?" mumbled Morgana with a look of doubt on her face.
"No you didn't, your drug had nearly no effect on her, she's just someone who likes fighting a bit much and was is a bit fired up recently, now go patch her up, I'll be watching, she probably won't attack you, but in her current state she's probably not too dangerous," said Diana with a smile on her face
Almost instantly upon meeting Morgana, Diana had realized that the person in front of her was the course of all the weird things happening in the port recently.
Nor too long after, Morgana had also realized that Diana had learned this, as such, she didn't bother maintaining any pretences in front of her future captain, at least hopefully her future captain.
...
As soon as she regained consciousness, Emily was instantly reminded of her situation by her body, which was constantly aching, causing her eyes to instantly pop open, allowing her to see a purple haired woman, who was currently watching over her.
The moment Emily saw this woman, her eyes instantly lit up.
"Are you the doctor Diana recruited?"
"???"
For just a brief moment, Morgana doubted whether the person in front of her was an Omniscient God, or just someone who spoke without thinking in the slightest.
Even so, after a moment of thought, Morgana regained her senses and silently lowered the level of expected intelligence for the rest of the Storm pirates.
"Yes, I'm technically not a part of the crew just yet, I still need to finish my test, healing you," said Morgana as she looked at the vice-captain in front of her.
Truthfully, after patching her up initially, Morgana didn't feel as though she needed to do much more to the pirate in front of her, as the latter's wounds were clearly healing much faster than those of normal humans, but even so, she still continued looking after the pirate.
"You've done a pretty good job, you can join the crew, you have my approval," said Emily as she gave Morgana a thumbs up.
"Thank you, I guess."
