Chapter 28.2 : Change

Chapter 28.2 : Change

The moment Diana picked up the Red Stone of Aja, her pupils instantly dilated, as her eyes became bloodshot and her body began shaking.

Seeing this, the old doctor Mikhail, Anastasia who was watching from the shadows, as well as the man who had given the stone to Aja all also froze.

Of course, all of them were merely feeling shock, something completely insignificant compared to what Diana was feeling at the moment.

Looking at Lady Diana, who was clearly undergoing the transformation just as she had described it, Mikhail couldn't help but breathe a faint sigh of relief.

A moment later, the Red Stone suddenly pushed itself into Diana's hand, causing flesh and blood to fall to the ground as the stone created a path for itself.

But even though this was the case, it did not seem as though Diana was weakened by this injury, which was constantly increasing in size as the stone moving through her body, in fact all three people inside the room personally knew that Diana was becoming stronger, fast.

...

A few minutes ago, inside another location, Siberia.

Seven people could be seen standing in a circle, staring at the man in the middle, who was holding several pieces of flesh which he had taken straight from their necks in his hands.

Not long after removing these 'things' out of their bodies, the man also informed them of the current situation, and about the vampire that was currently controlling Russia from the shadows.

Suddenly, though, the man broke the seven men, who were busy thinking, out of their thoughts.

"Gentlemen, you must already understand that we must not let the vampire achieve any more of her goals, nor must we let her sink to the shadows after discovering your newfound autonomy, we must take swift and decisive action," said the man, causing a discussion to suddenly emerge within the group.

After just under a minute of talking, the group of seven men finally decided on what to do, as determination filled most of their faces.

"If we take action on this scale right now, wouldn't the guys in Moscow get an opportunity to further distance us from positions of power?" asked the man with a somewhat hesitant look on his face, being nowhere near as ruthless as the other six.

The moment this man spoke, another person from the group, one who held much more hatred for the vampire, suddenly spoke up.

This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.

"I'm sure that the moment those control-freaks in Moscow discover the fact they've been brainwashed, they will understand the actions that we have to take," said the man, not answering the actual question.

Although the man did not answer the question on whether the fact the Moscovites would use their actions to reduce their power, the first man knew that he could no longer say anything, lest his own life be placed at risk by the five, who seemed to be out for blood.

A few moments later, the group of seven then agreed on what actions to take under the careful eyes of the outsider.

...

As Mikhail and Anastasia stared at lady Diana, who was currently shaking, Diana's eyes couldn't help but faintly flinch, moving towards the ceiling.

This movement went unnoticed by the two people who were observing Diana, though, making it completely useless.

A moment later, all electricity was lost in the entirety of the military base.

Even though Anastasia was aware of the true loss of electricity that had just happened, the moment the lights went out, she, as well as the man who had given Diana the stone went out of the room to take control of the situation, leaving the experienced doctor, Mikhail, behind to look after Diana.

After Diana had come in and taken control of it, a lot of money was invested into the military base, and as such, it took only a short time for the emergency generators to suddenly begin working, allowing Anastasia, who was in the main control room, to take a good look at everything going on in the base.

Only a few moments after that, though, Anastasia's eyes suddenly dilated, and a horrified look appeared on her face.

In an instant, Anastasia suddenly smashed a piece of glass, plugged in a password in the wall before suddenly smashing a button, alarms suddenly began sounding throughout the military base the moment Anastasia pressed that button, causing Mikhail to suddenly take action.

With what speed his old body could muster, Mikhail suddenly picked up the extremely heavy body of Beatrice onto his back and began running in a certain direction.

If not for the fact that Mikail was using his stand to lighten the load of Beatrice's vampire body, which weighed much more than that of a human, Mikhail would have definitively collapsed to the floor the moment he picked Diana up.

Step by step, Mikhail and Diana walked through layers upon layers of steel in just under two minutes.

By then though, Mikhail's own legs threatened to give up on him, causing Diana, who had faintly opened her eyes and was staring at the lead ceiling with a frown on her face, to suddenly shake her head.

In an instant, time suddenly slowed down as Diana suddenly got off the back of the old man and suddenly threw him towards a few pieces of fortification.

Just as Mikhail was about to fly beyond the hatch, a flesh tentacle, which had emerged from Diana's arm, suddenly caught him and placed him in the safest place possible.

"Hopefully you can survive this..." mumbled whilst staring at the ceiling above her with time still slowed down.

Thanks to the slow speed of the old man, both he and Diana and were just about halfway to their destination, right now, Diana still had very little strength, and was not very confident about reaching their destination in the time left, and as such, simply stared at the ceiling above, recovering as much strength as possible.

"Hopefully I can survive this as well," mumbled Diana, knowing that it would take just a few moments for her to recover her strength.

Sadly, these moments were not given to her.

In an instant, everything turned white, as a huge mushroom cloud then replaced the military base.
