Chapter 32.4 : Future

Chapter 32.4 : Future

As she stared at the treasure map in her hands, as well as at Emily, who was currently climbing out a hole with a treasure chest in her hands, as well as with a deep frown on her face, Diana knew what had happened, but even so, she still asked.

"What happened?" asked Diana, causing Emily to suddenly throw the treasure chest in her hands towards her new captain, who easily caught it.

From the outside, the chest was a bona fide treasure, chest, but even so, as soon as Diana grabbed hold of it, she instantly knew the problem.

The chest was light, far too light, and clearly empty.

"What a waste of time..." mumbled Diana as she suddenly smashed her left hand through the treasure chest, in which stood only a small stone slate with two words inscribed onto it.

'Tricked you'.

Seeing that, Diana suddenly threw the chest back into the hole that her Vice-Captain had just dug before sitting down on a nearby rock, causing Emily, who was unsure of what to do, to sit down on a nearby rock.

"Emily, how much money do we have right now?" asked Diana as she raised her head and stared and examined her Vice-Captain.

"Just under 2 million berries."

"And how much is that?"

"Quite a lot for a person but not very much for a pirate crew, we were being chased by the marines these past few months and didn't have much time to raid many villages," said Emily as she also raised her head and stared right into Diana's eyes.

"The marines..."

Over the course of the next few minutes, the Marines, as well as their power to Diana, causing the latter to touch her chin and fall into thought.

"Tell me more about the crew, I need to know our current situation," said Diana as she suddenly picked up a rock and threw it at a bird flying above her, causing the rock to ricochet and hit two others.

As Diana caught the three birds that had just fallen out of the sky, Emily, who was slightly surprised at her accuracy, began speaking.

"Up until now, the crew consisted of five members, around thirty cannon fodder, and our ship, the Thunder."

"I don't need to talk about the cannon fodder, as I don't know them very well, but I can vouch by the quality of the crew members," said Emily, causing Diana to smile.

"Tell me more about the permanent members."

"First of all is Daniel, the navigator and former Vice-Captain of the crew, he's a rather thin man with glasses as well as a scar on his left eye."

"But even so, his combat power could be said to be to only mine and to someone else in the entire crew, if 2 Daniels appeared, they could probably fight me to a standstill, If I don't use my Devil-Fruit that is."

'Devil-Fruit?' thought Diana as she remembered Emily's peculiar movements back when the two of them fought.

'But even so, that's rather strong for a human,' thought Diana.

Even though she herself toyed with Emily like with a little baby, the girl was much, much stronger than normal humans.

"Then there's Daniel's brother, Oro's, he's the resident Swordsman on the ship, and is currently acting as a doctor, while we search for a better one."

"Even though he's a swordsman, in terms of combat, Oro's is quite incompetent, If I'm to be honest, but I took him onto the ship after making a bet with him," said Emily, causing Diana's interest to be slightly piqued.

"If he doesn't become a powerful swordsman in three years, I'm going to feed him to the sharks," said Emily as she let out a laugh, causing Diana to slightly laugh as well.

"At least he's got the spirit..." mumbled Diana as she started up a fire and cleaned up the birds.

"Next is our chef, Tsurumi, who's proficient in poison, but don't worry, she's rather nice if you get to know her," said Emily, causing Diana to take another look at the girl.

Although Diana herself was completely immune to poison, she could clearly see that Emily was not.

'She does have a little gut's, getting a Poison Master as a ship chef...' thought Diana as she looked w at Emily with a thoughtful look on her face.

"After that should have been our doctor, but as I've already told you, we don't have one right now," said Emily as she touched the back of her neck and looked at Diana with an embarrassed look on her face.

But after a few moments, Emily's attention turned away from the doctor, and onto something she was prouder of.

"Lastly is the crew shipwright, Thresh, even though he's a bit older than the rest of the crew, he was actually its second most powerful member, right after me, at least before you arrived," said Emily, causing Diana to fall into thought as she stared at the bird that was currently being cooked.

"I assume he was the one that obtained the ship?" asked Diana as she remembered Emily's ship, which, although pretty well maintained, was clearly on the older side of things.

"Yea, Thresh was a pirate before he retired, and that was his ship, but I managed to drag him out of retirement a few months ago," said Emily, causing Diana to faintly smile.

"Emily, are there any local marine bases nearby?"

"There's one."

"How much money do you reckon they have?" asked Diana, causing Emily to fall into thought for a few moments.

"Don't know exactly, but they should have a lot..." mumbled Emily as she began salivating whilst staring at the birds which were currently being cooked on an open fire.

"It's decided then, we need money, after I get a bit more familiar with the ship we can set sail for the base," said Diana, causing Emily's hand, which was stretched out towards the bird, to suddenly freeze in place.

Seeing this, Diana handed Emily one of the now cooked birds and picked up the other two for herself.
