Chapter 14 : Remembrance

Chapter 14 : Remembrance

The moment Jotaro's eyes opened, confusion filled them, as the now dead man struggled to remember things from the past.

But as he slowly but surely moved his eyes, and looked at the figure who was standing above her with a smile on her face, his expression changed.

Although Jotaro was unaware of why, as he looked at the woman, anger couldn't help but appear on his face, anger that seemed to not fit well with the face of a Joestar.

"Do you remember who you are?" asked Diana as she looked at the zombie still in the grave, as the rain that had been pouring down began becoming sparser and sparser.

Of course, eve though he had no idea who he was, Jotaro did not want to cooperate with this woman, and did not respond in the slightest, merely staring at her.

Looking at Jotaro's eyes, which still showed signs of intelligence, Diana couldn't help but shake her head.

"As I expected, you won't cooperate," mumbled Diana before suddenly snapping her fingers, causing Jotaro's expression to change.

Jotaro struggled, he struggled to not open his mouth and let out those words, but sadly, his own body seemed to have stopped obeying him at this moment.

"I-I don'g know who I am," slowly said Jotaro, with Diana having to forcefully drag every single word out of his mouth.

Hearing this, a somewhat disappointed expression appeared on Diana's face.

"I should have expected this, in hindsight, leaving you here to rot for this much time was a bad idea, of course your memories are muddled," mumbled Diana as she looked at Jotaro whilst shaking.

"Your name is Jotaro, Joestar," said Diana, saying that cursed family name after a moment of hesitation.

Although Jotaro did not want to listen to the speech of this woman for a single moment more, he knew that she was right, which caused him to become angry, causing the remaining muscles on his face to contort.

Seeing this, Diana shook her head.

"Alright, let's not stay here in the rain any longer, get up," said Diana as she looked at Jotaro, causing no change.

Looking at Jotaro, who seemingly had no desire to move in the slightest, Diana couldn't help but shake her head.

"I wanted to do this the easy way, but if you want it to be like this, then so be it, get up," said Diana, causing Jotaro's face to change once again.

Slowly but surely, Jotaro's muscles moved on their own, his knees, now strengthened after becoming a zombie, bent, as Jotaro's feet landed on the bottom of the coffin.

A moment later, Jotaro's hand rose and grabbed a hold of a broken piece of wood from the coffin, allowing him to then use it to drag himself up.

Although Jotaro was formerly a rotting corpse, after being transformed into a zombie by Diana, some strength once again filled his body, allowing it to get up.

After standing up straight, Jotaro, with a clearly unwilling look on his face, climbed out of the shallow grave.

With every single step Jotaro took, he became more powerful, as his destroyed body was being slowly rebuilt by his new zombie powers.

As such, in only a few moments, Jotaro was able to stand in front of Diana, who was now holding an umbrella in her hands.

"Let's go," said Diana as she began walking away, leaving Jotaro behind.

For a few moments, Jotaro hesitated, but as he remembered that horrifying feeling of losing control of your own body that he had felt not long ago, he hesitantly began following behind the woman, who had yet to give him her name.

...

Crying

One might think that inside of a cemetery, this sound was extremely common, but if there were people around, the scale of the crying from in front of a grave would attract some attention.

"Jot-aro, my poor baby, what have they done to you?!" shouted a blond haired woman, Holly, as she stood in front of a grave.

Although it had been over a week since Holly had gained news of her son's death, Holly had yet to recover from this piece of news, especially as she stood in front of his death.

Seeing this, Joseph, who was standing nearby, couldn't help but grit his teeth and walk over to the side of his daughter.

Unlike one might expect, after the death of his grandson, Joseph did not become weaker in his old age, he instead began returning to his self before his decline, using his rage as fuel.

"Holly, it's alright, you can cry, but you have to know that the killer will be brought to justice, I will make sure of that," said Joseph, causing Holly to freeze for a moment, her tears decreasing a bit.

A moment later, Holly nodded before walking away whilst pointing to a person standing even further near to the grave, as if to instruct Joseph to talk to him.

As Joseph approached Josuke, who was standing right in front of the grave, he could already feel the mood somehow drop to a lower point than even before.

Looking at Josuke's face, which was streaming with tears, Joseph couldn't help but sigh.

"If he hadn't come to Morioh, he would have lived..." mumbled Josuke, causing Joseph to shake his.

"Josuke, you shouldn't feel guilty, Jotaro's death had nothing to do with him coming to Morioh, and even more so nothing to do with you, I'm my fault, if not for the fact that I had involved Jotaro back then, this wouldn't have happened now," said Joseph.

Of course, Joseph clearly knew that without Jotaro, they would have had no chance in the slightest of beating DIO.

Hearing Joseph's words, Josuke fell into silence, merely staring at the grave.

Suddenly, Joseph turned around and looked at the two men approaching the grave.

"Has everything been sorted out?" asked Joseph as he looked at the Speedwagon Foundation employees.

"Yes Mr. Joseph, the foundation will begin taking care of Mr. Jotaro's wife and daughter, we will also continue our search for Mr. Jotaro's body," said one of the employees, causing Joseph to nod.

"Please do so, we have to find the body as soon as possible," said Joseph, causing the two men to nod.
