[Welcome to the Origin Pharmacy!]
"Phew; made it back in one piece."
This took way longer than expected, and the character pushed his and the game's limits too.
Who would have thought those easy simple ratting contracts would feel so desirable?
Even the plague ones won't cause issues when armed with antidotes.
"Hey, Pharmacist Girl, here's your pretty flower."
Calling out to an NPC without a name is still weird, but her eyes light up when she sees the poison lily and the bandages.
Those tiny arrows appear over her head again, does that mean our standings went up too?
Let's hope for another discount because there's plenty to buy from them.
A ton of healing potion for starters, and stamina might be a good idea too.
"Ah, Noob, so you were the adventurer who fulfilled our last contract? You did an amazing job, it should be worth even more discount in the future."
Bingo. That's what you want to hear after a tough run like that. Except for the first part, what does she mean by 'last request'?
[From now on you get 15% off every item you buy in the Origin Pharmacy.]
Oh, only an extra five percent? They aren't as generous as that COTTONEYEJOE guy in the Textile Works.
Well, whatever, it's better than nothing. The inventory is open thanks to her task-ending dialog so let's fill it with discount stuff.
Where could the owners of this place be?
"Do you have anything that helps with exhaustion?"
The system won't let me ask about her previous remark, which is odd, but Selena might explain it better.
"Like sixty zombies guarded that lily and once they were all down, I was on the last breath."
Let's not mention the glitch that wiped out most of the second wave, and how close it came to ending the avatar.
She highlights an item in the trade window, a thick yellow liquid in a stubby round vial.
"Oh, sixty zombies? It's a good thing our requests will change in the future then."
She looks surprised, adjusting her long brunette hair.
While it must be a coincidence, she pulls out one of those vials from behind her ears.
"This remedy could help regain your breath."
The name over it in the inventory says Stamina Potion, so they did exist. And it's cheap too, it costs half of what they ask for a green one.
The description says they negate any exhaustion status effect for five minutes. So is it more like coffee or speed?
"Hmm, please give three of those and eight healing remedies."
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
There goes all the money.
Well, the Guild is yet to pay out the last errands. And there's that neat little stash outside the village with six gold.
As her cryptic remark suggested, she won't offer another contract.
Not even to deliver more vials to the Guild, so that trip feels a little wasted.
Of course, the inventory is still full of dressings for Selena and there's a promise of future payment.
With the new type of potions, the inventory needs some love again. The route toward the village center is perfect for practicing the quick-grab technique.
Seeing Tank halfway makes the avatar pause on instinct.
There had to be something to talk to him about, what was it?
Oh, right. It must have been the broken shield, but that advanced zombie dropped a better one so it should be fine.
While twenty-five hitpoints seem low, that high Resistance potential will make it last.
Can the zombies even dish out that much damage?
The Trainer could break it with two or three strikes. Thank God it's unlikely to run into enemies of his caliber.
This is the starter village after all.
The only challenging place should be that dungeon the avatar discovered by accident. And there's no reason to go there.
The main square seems quiet, the red-named thugs might be on their lunch break.
I didn't eat much this morning, the reason being that it was at noon. The character also ran out of the looted food.
While he shouldn't get hungry anytime soon, I'll have to buy a meal unless more bandits appear.
Let's check out how much they cost on the market later, and what variety they have.
Lost in thoughts as usual, the Senior Assistant's smile wakes me from the daydreaming.
"Noob, you're back. You worry this old lady too much."
She takes the parchments to confirm all the deliveries.
She won't even count the bandages and is quick on the math while dealing with the crystals.
"Where did you get this many? It was a simple foraging task, the last of its kind."
"Zombies swarmed the place. They almost got the better of me."
It's too bad some of the proof items remained there.
Even if they don't pay much, it would have come in handy to brag.
What she said about the jobs almost didn't register.
"What's this about the last of its kind?"
"Ah, you haven't heard?"
It was a mistake to ask about it after mentioning the undead as now they fell on deaf ears.
"We got a memo from the central Guild about job revisions and you should read it too. Taking those quests in the future might not be the best idea."
Yeah, sixty-four zombies can attest to that, so what is this about?
And where does she want the avatar to read about it?
The system was too quiet lately to drop a message.
Shit, talk about them summons one right away.
Oh, crap, and this is what was so important to talk about with Tank.
[In the latest patch released today at 1 PM, we overhauled foraging and delivery quests. Other exciting features arrived too; visit the official CineMraft website for the changelog. We listened to our player's input, and hope these changes will enhance their gameplay.]
The part where it mentions the website is blue like links usually are.
After trying to grab it, a window opens, and the jaw drops.
This thing had a built-in browser all along?
It looks different from the typical Nickel browser, but it works.
Can it reach other sites too, or only the game's own?
Opening a new tab takes no more than a single thought, and typing works by imagining the words.
Wroddit dot com is the first attempt, and the page loads way faster than it does on the beat-up PC.
Holy shit, so there's no need to take a break to look up stuff while playing?
This changes everything. And the character is still in the Guild, standing near Selena.
Is it possible to talk to her like this, or the window will be in the way?
No, they turn transparent when you focus on something else.
You could even watch YouCube while playing, which would count toward the twelve hours.
That's not the current issue though.
What did they change in the newest patch?
They released it when those zombies respawned.
The avatar was busy fighting them, so the update remained invisible.
It didn't cause any more glitches than the game already has, and the changelog is on their front page.
It's no wonder the NPCs refused to elaborate when it's so easy to look everything up.
