To give a picture of how detailed this game is, the system lets me pack away the tents, but I'd have to disassemble them. At this point, why not take over the whole camp? Of course, without the guards, anyone could stroll in and pillage it when my character is away.
No, it would be even worse if they found me here, and killed me in the process. Imagine players with abilities like my party leader, or even worse. Noob is a weakling. The most he can handle are some rats and zombies, or potshots at bandits with a borrowed bow.
And no players are undefeatable. That's why the gankers exist in the first place. While dragging the last piece of loot into one of the tents a series of popups flood my view. Did this guy sprint to the Adventurer's Guild, or did it take this long to organize all this crap?
[Your Party Leader finished a quest. +5000 Exp.]
[Congratulations! You reached level 9.]
Finally, after all those near-death experiences today, there is some progress. It's too early to say that my character reached the finish line. The next level needs the same amount of Exp as all the previous nine combined. Yet the speed at which I got it today gives me hope.
The darkening sky contradicts this, although night arrives fast as usual. I made some haphazard observations about the word's cycle. Sunrise happens before the fifteenth, and sunset comes after the forty-five-minute mark. That's why setting out without a torch is dumb.
[DragonSlayer disbanded the party.]
[Your friend, DragonSlayer logged off.]
This is a shame though. Pairing up with him got me almost seven thousand in thirty minutes, and look at all the loot. Also, how come the system alerted me that he logged off? Would I get the same notification when the Textile Worker leaves?
Do they see me log in and out too? This warrants a Boogle search, but there is something more important to check first. It's not even what kind of loot is here since that can wait. It would be good to know how long before the feds get pissed at me though.
[Government Issued Quest: Reach Level 10 within 3 days. Importance: Utmost. Difficulty: Average. Progress: 9/10, Exp to next level: 1614/25600. (21/72 hours left).]
Twenty-one hours. Even if the stars align, it will be close. Okay, let's go over the loot and move out; those rats won't slay themselves. Or they might already have. Selena never got to explain her secret, we got interrupted by my helper, and things happened.
She said those errands were double-booked, meaning other adventurers had already taken them. The Guild Assistant mentioned it as if that was a good thing, giving me three ratting jobs. Will they be there after sorting out this mess?
It's better to hurry it up. Take only the best stuff and don't be greedy like during the previous mission. What would have happened if the bandits respawn too, while DragonSlayer is away? They shouldn't, now that he finished the quest, but time is of the essence.

Some coins lay around, and the bandits dropped a bunch of equipment from my wanted list. They gave me a choice between three backpacks in different sizes. They dropped a green and a black cloak, one with a plus three stealth bonus in the forest, the other at night.
It's too bad the day-night cycle goes by so fast, but it makes no sense to carry them both. They weigh almost two kilos each, while my default clothing seems weightless. It doesn't help me hide though and it would have been handy on the last fetching job.
About a third of the bandits dropped either a sword or a shield. They never used their bows even though a few ended up on the weapon stack with plenty of arrows. One sword stands out from the rest, when it's in my inventory, there is a green mark in the corner of the slot.
It's both level and Premium locked, and the only thing the system reveals is the plus-eight damage. This is the first weapon that could tie with the bow from DragonSlayer. It's an obvious choice, and the other swords come too. Not the shields though, they are too heavy.
The arrows are useful, and yes, you can reload the quiver with the other types, except the system won't let you mix them. The bows would be dead weight, so they stay. From the food, let's eat the best quality right now, and take only the ones with the longest shelf-life with me.
There is a chest with a huge lock, and a key dropped next to that special sword, that fits right in. This gives me something to keep my stuff safe and even the tools to lock it. The only downside is that it won't fit into any backpacks. They give a small bonus to the weight I can carry though.
The description even explains how much a character can take, with or without them. Who would have thought it's tied to the strength stat, which defaults to ten until the next level? This means I could sprint while carrying up to twenty kilos and run with forty.
The avatar can still walk with the weight six times the strength stat, and crawl with a hundred kilos. That explains the struggle to move with thirteen logs after my woodcutting spree. And why it was impossible to run with all the loot after the first bandit quest.
The smallest backpack expands the first two categories by ten percent. It means I could run with more, yet it has fewer slots than the inventory and lowers the max capacity. The largest backpack adds a flat five percent bonus to every category but goes on the quick access menu.
The player can throw it off his back during combat which is a neat feature. Yet, when you only have three slots, there is no way to waste it on this. The medium backpack has the lowest bonus, only one percent, yet it keeps my stuff safer, so there is no reason to leave it.
Sure, the rest of them and the cloaks come too, at least until my stash. They might be useful later, or fetch a nice price on the better trade hubs, once my character can leave this place. It will be tough to carry the chest with me but there is no way to leave it behind.
It has a thousand coins, which look impressive until you realize, it's copper. It totals one gold and two silver's worth, once collected from the fallen bandits too. It's better than nothing, the issue is the weight here. There is a lantern with a few pints of oil, which is a must-have.
Let's pack the best pair of boots, all the swords and arrows, food, and the backpack is almost full. The empty chest with the lock comes in my hand, and I can only drag myself toward my stash at a slow pace. And it's half a kilometer away.
The place ends up in my bookmarks, - yes, that is a thing, you can save random points on your map. I ran a few queries on Boogle while deciding what to bring and leave behind. With the tents flattened, nobody else should stumble on it, so let's come back for some things later.
For example, one of the tents or at least a bedroll would be handy. There is no way to stuff more into the medium backpack though.
