Through the knowledge that his effort wouldn't lead him to nowhere, Alec then strengthened his resolve and prepared to swim. Getting in the position to do so he stretched both his arms forward, and pushed with his legs to get momentum.
After which he moved his arms in windmill motion, and paddled his legs to continue moving. Doing the freestyle or the the front crawl technique of swimming.
In the first lap he took three for breaths while not stopping, as he completed the full length of the pool. In the second lap he took five breaths in between, losing breath more easily due to still feeling tired from the run.
Now in the third lap Alec started to feel like the flow of the water was against him. Chalking it up to as a symptom of tiredness, he continued the swim until the point he could not mistake this feeling.
The flow of the water was against him, and it only got stronger as he swam forward. This was not the case in his earlier two laps, and the suddenness of this almost made him wish to swim in the opposite direction. Only he did not do so, stubbornness in wanting to complete this lap he did not stop.
It reached a point where he did not go forward, despite the force from his arms and legs. As soon as he started to be pushed back in the opposite direction, did Alec finally show a change in his swimming position.
Turning around so that his face was above water, Alec laid with his back now facing down. Alternating in moving his arms and legs, he had each of his arm pass the side of his head, meanwhile his legs were doing flutter kicks.
This was backstroke swimming, a slower swimming technique than the freestyle he was doing earlier. Not caring about that fact, and even if he kept getting further behind, Alec continued on with this decision. He kept getting pushed back by the water, but still somehow managed to stay afloat.
Until all of a sudden when he began swimming forward again. Showing no signs to be affected by the water's flow, that just earlier had pushed him despite how fast he moved. Now, when he was doing so at his pace the water showed no resistance.
After half a minute of him swimming freely like this, he messes up a bit and starts to rotate in a drill like motion.
It takes a moment before Alec successfully stops. After which he tries to find a footing below, in order to finally come out and breath. Before he could make the desperate attempt to resolve this, Alec thankfully got pulled out of the pool.
His first response was to take in a large puff of air. Then as Myr gently set him into the ground, he sat down while heavily breathing. Before laughing between those breaths, and then saying.
"Did you- huff - just saw that?"
"Yes, I did. That was a great usage of self invocation."
After fully catching his breath, and drank some water while sitting down. He then spoke, while staring at the his palm.
"Self invocation, huh? I just wished to swim unrestrictedly, so I did in the position that came naturally to me."
After fifteen minutes of rest he then decided to give it another go, and this time kept the unrestricted state even in the freestyle. That lasted a for less time as compared to when he was swimming facing the water with his back.

This marked his last excercise for the day, as Myr told him it was time for him to get his dinner. Following that albeit a little unwillingly, they got back to the lower floors. Where Alec took a couple lessons about cooking, and then finally carrying the meal to the dining table he finally ate.
Soon finishing his meal and cleaning the dishes he found Myr, who had not been present from him eating until now. The spire's keeper held a book, showing it directly to Alec from a distance. Looking at which he reads the title on the cover.
'A basic guide to...Ropes!'
Looking at it with a surprised elation, Alec moves for the book and extends his arms under it. The keeper easily drops it into his outstretched upper limb, before saying.
"You can retire for the day. Tomorrow you will be building your very own. Don't read it for the whole night and take the required sleep, alright? "
"Okay!"
After elatedly stating his agreement, Alec then went down to the ground floor. Going back into the room he had slept inside yesterday, and after a change of cloth he then opened the book to start reading.
By now, he had the fundamental understanding that the more he knew about what he was using his power on, the more effective it would be. Just today he found two applications for it he had no idea he could even do, and now more and more ideas were coming into mind. Regarding this tool that he had a very positive view towards.
Putting multiple hours in learning about the history, and application regarding this tool. Alec then finally set it aside and headed on to sleep.
*****
Waking at the same time as yesterday, Alec did not waste it and readied himself before heading for breakfast. In the first floor Myr was already present, whom Alec then greeted.
"Good morning!"
The spire's keeper responded to him.
"Good morning Alec."
With that greeting they headed to kitchen, and this time Alec assisted Myr in some cooking tasks. Leading to his breakfast being prepared faster.
That after eating in the table, they went upstairs to the third floor. Which they did not pass by to head the upper floor this time, instead heading towards a particular tree.
Upon reaching it Alec could see that the tree had a lengthy vine on it's trunk. Seeing it Alec knew what to do, as borrowed a knife from the keeper, and seperated the vine directly from the tree.
Doing so he then found a solid place to sit on and then grabbing a rock he beat it up with the rock. Slowly crunching the fibres in it, he then began to peel the fibres off. Taking time but eventually finishing up with the entire vine.
After that he pinched it on one side and wrapped the fibre in of itself. Twisting the strands at an even length, in order to keep it completely symmetrical. The length of the rope reached many feet, and Alec only stopped when all the fibre finished.
Stretching it a couple time he grinned at the end product. Clearly proud at himself for learning, and then applying such a simple but useful skill. Looking at it from a couple more angles, he then said.
"This is good for start. But it won't be lasting much longer. Rather than just throwing it away, can I play with it at least?"
Myr gave an affirmative response towards Alec, who then runs off with the rope in tow. Feeling connected with this object at a level that he never had before. Being able to move it at his will for the entire length, even the range was far longer than he had before.
His control over it was splendid, the only thing that restricted a variety of use for it was the material itself. Putting the rope to its final use, Alec made it fly to a tree branch and after connecting it he swung with the rope.
A couple seconds of him doing that brought a great deal of strain to the very rope. Causing it to nearly break but kept together through Alec's will, which he stopped applying once landing on the ground safely.
Holding the seperate parts of the rope, Alec then jumbled it into a ball and kept it on himself. Intending to keep a small part of it, and disposing of the rest.
Moving in the direction of the spire's keeper, Alec then spoke.
"It was a decent experience, now I feel like I am more in tune. Let us make one like how you suggested."
Saying that they both crossed the second and third floor. Reaching the fourth floor, that Alec saw for the first time. There was a ton of work benches, and wide array of tools around it. All of which they walked past in order to head inside a room, that was more of a workshop in of itself.
"There are ton of materials that you can make a rope out of. Animal, plants, or even synthetic materials. We will use a strong fibre, as the leather we have is from the corrupted monsters. And you would not want to head outside holding an item made from them."
Saying that Myr then guides Alec, allowing him to pick all the twenty one threads that would be used to make the three strands with seven rope in each. That upon attaching firmly to the guide pulleys, that then help in the twisting process. Which through told instructions Alec operates as much as he could by himself.
The spinning process then begins at once, which the machine helps in doing most of it. The process completed after the threads ties into itself several times, and then finally coming out as a single piece of rope.
The end product made it seem like the rope did was not that long, just only barely twice Alec's own height. When tried extending it through his powers, it stretched nearly twenty times that. This did not mean the material was any weak or loose, as when Alec gave it the command to remain firm it did so very easily.
Tying the rope around his waist, he felt very satisfied with the end product. Only doing one last thing to it after the treatment process of the rope. Cutting a small portion from the front end of the rope he had made by his hand, he tied it to the front-end of the well made one.
With a small smile on his face, Alec then said.
"Since I am going make a lot of use out of you, let me name you as well. From now on you will be called Gordian."
