There are rules to abide by, contracts in the sand, old lessons learned, things people fought for, worthy of its right, its place earned, sometimes we make mistakes, alas, such is fate, no one likes it, but the world to which it leads, we preferred it, the world is old, we've been here a while, and we’ve all learned something in our time, from our roots, the tree grows, humanity spreads its arms, and reaches for the sun, where will we go, I'm content to watch the ocean waves flow, higher and higher, to the future, filter out the old world, destruction, fire and rebirth, there is a place for all of it, how much of it can we explore, step by step, tripwire, none of us are greater than fate, love and war, we’ll all dance to the music, we’ve done it for so many reasons, how long, will we want more?
