Chapter 9 Enchant

Chapter 9 Enchant

"Okay!" The speaker was a long-haired young man with his hair flowing down his shoulders, his eyes squinted to slits. He was about the same height as Louis. After agreeing with a nod towards Emperor, he walked towards Louis, and cracked his knuckles, producing a crisp sound.

Louis was already prepared, knowing that he couldn't avoid it today. He stood his ground, watching Max approach, quietly gathering his strength. He thought to himself that there were many people here, if he had to fight, he had to be quick and deliver a blow that would keep the other guy down.

As Max got closer, the distance between the two became shorter and shorter. The room fell silent, and everyone's attention was fixed on the two in the arena. Emperor never took her eyes off Louis. She was both concerned for him and curious, wondering how this slender young man had managed to defeat John.

With both sides now within striking distance, Max made the first move. His body moved slowly as he suddenly lunged toward Louis, leaning forward and lifting one leg to strike Louis's abdomen. Louis's face revealed a smile; this move was one he often used, and he had used this move to bring down John. Louis slightly shifted his body to the side, evading Max's knee, and extended his palm, striking the lower side of Max's neck with force. Seeing Louis dodge his attack, Max realized things were not looking good. He saw Louis's palm coming toward him and did his best to press his body downward. Although he reacted quickly, Louis's palm didn't hit his vulnerable neck but landed on his mouth.

Max let out a cry of pain, spitting out a mouthful of blood, and three white teeth lay on the ground. Max shook his head, flung his hair back, stared at Louis with bloodshot eyes, his mouth filled with blood. Louis inwardly lamented; Max's reflexes were too quick, and he hadn't managed to land a full-force blow on a vital spot.

Max didn't dare to underestimate Louis anymore. The pain in his mouth fueled his strength. He shouted loudly and threw a punch at Louis. Louis caught the punch with his palm, feeling a pang in his wrist, but he didn't have time to dwell on it. Seizing the opportunity, he clamped down on Max's wrist with his palm. In Max's moment of confusion, Louis's other fist struck him in the face. This blow sent Max crashing to the ground. Just as he was trying to get up, Louis pressed his knee against Max's chest. Louis half crouched down, and his fists rained down on Max's face like a flurry of blows. At first, Max tried to resist and struggle, but as Louis's heavy punch landed on his chin, Max's consciousness blurred, and he lost the strength to resist further. Louis showed no intention of stopping; every punch he landed on Max's face sent blood splattering, with droplets staining Louis's face.

Everyone in the room who hadn't seen Louis before was stunned, watching the scene unfold before them, thinking to themselves: Is he really a human? Those who had encountered Louis in the grove remembered that scene vividly, their legs trembling uncontrollably.

Even Emperor was taken aback by the current Louis and shouted loudly, "Louis, stop!"

Louis stopped the swinging fist and stood up, looking towards Emperor with a smile. "This won't do, you're not a match!" His lowered hand was covered in blood, and drops fell from his fingers to the ground.

Seeing Louis' smile, Emperor decided to personally challenge him. She pulled out a machete from her waist and shouted at Louis, "I will play with you!"

Louis asked, "What if you lose?"

Emperor sneered, "You're quite confident! Do you think you'll definitely win?"

Louis asked again, "What if you lose?"

Emperor glared at him fiercely, "If I lose, you walk away!"

Louis chuckled, "And what if I lose?"

"Are you annoying me? If you lose, I'll kill you!"

"Well, isn't that a bit unfair? Whether I win or lose, it doesn't affect you, right?"

Under Louis' gaze, Emperor felt a moment of confusion and asked, "So what do you suggest?"

Louis stared at Emperor with a smile and said, "If I lose, my life is yours to do with as you please. But if you lose, you have to promise me one thing!"

One thing? He can't be wanting to... Emperor thought, her face turning red. She nodded and said, "I promise!"

Louis wiped away his smile, nodded, and said, "Let's begin!" He didn't dare underestimate this young girl.

The two slowly approached each other in the arena, eventually stopping and staring at each other. Neither dared to strike recklessly. They stood motionless in the arena, yet sweat had already appeared on their foreheads. A drop of sweat rolled down Louis' forehead, dripping into his eyes, but he dared not wipe it away. The pressure emanating from Emperor in front of him prevented any movement. Time seemed to stop, and the pressure radiating from both of them made everyone else in the room sweat, barely daring to breathe.

"My name is Emma!" Emperor's inexplicable sentence left Louis bewildered. In the moment he was caught off guard, Emperor's blade was thrust toward Louis's abdomen. Before he could react and dodge, he instinctively grabbed Emperor's wrist holding the knife, and used his momentum to push his body backward, stopping only when a table behind him halted his movement.

Emperor gripped the knife tightly and pushed forward with force. Louis clung to her wrists, not allowing any slack. The two of them were locked in a standoff. Through gritted teeth, Louis said, "You're so devious..." Emperor leaned forward and retorted, "Same to you!"

With a powerful shout, Louis exerted a burst of strength, pushing Emperor's wrist forward forcefully and rolling to the side. Emperor, whose strength was concentrated in her wrist, lost her balance, and the blade plunged into the table behind Louis. The force was so great that the blade went in about half an inch deep, piercing through the table. Louis silently thought how close of a call it was. To prevent Emperor from retrieving the knife, he delivered a kick toward her.

Emperor, resigned to the situation, had to abandon the attempt to draw the knife and dodged to the side. Though her stance was unsteady, Louis was already charging toward her. He grabbed Emperor's petite waist, lifting her upwards with force and then slamming her onto the ground. The impact was strong, causing Emperor to emit a muffled groan as if her bones had come undone. Louis lunged at Emperor, pressing down on her just as she was trying to get up. This was a level of roughness Emperor had never experienced from a man before. With her limbs pinned by Louis, she was unable to move. Fuming with rage, her face turned crimson. She opened her mouth and sunk her teeth into Louis's shoulder, nearly eliciting a cry of pain from him. Clenching his teeth to endure the pain, he used one hand to restrain both of Emperor's wrists and used the other to keep her head pressed against the ground. Seeing Emperor's bloodied smile, Louis was infuriated beyond measure.

Louis didn't hesitate further. He squatted on the ground, placing Emperor on his lap, securing her wrists in one hand, and raising the other to deliver a firm smack on her backside. Emperor, never having endured such humiliation, struggled with all her might. However, being a girl, despite being two years older than Louis, she couldn't match his physical strength. She felt her energy waning bit by bit, but Louis's hand did not cease its punishment. She could only resign herself to the situation. "He's actually spanking me in front of so many people..." Emperor thought to herself, and like a child, she burst into loud sobs.

Her crying was earth-shattering, evoking sympathy even from Louis, who now felt like a heinous villain. He halted his actions, breathing heavily, and declared loudly, "If you ever dare to use a knife on me again, I'll spank you!"

Upon hearing this, Emperor's crying grew even louder. He cried so much that Louis didn't know where to put his hands; he scratched his head and grabbed his face alternately. Emperor's underlings were also dumbfounded, thinking to themselves, "Is she still the Emperor?"

At this point, Louis was at a loss. He wasn't afraid of fighting Emperor, but this crying had completely bewildered him. It's often said that tears are the most powerful weapon of women, and this statement couldn't be truer. At least Louis thought so now, and he had a deep understanding of it. He squatted in place, unmoving, while Emperor crawled onto his lap, and there was no sign that his crying would stop.

Louis let out a long sigh. "Stop crying, okay? " Louis felt even more wrong. Emperor's crying grew louder again. He turned over and sat on Louis's lap, his neck wrapped around Louis's, his cheek against Louis's shoulder. Louis felt his shoulder getting wet. When he turned his head to look, he felt dizzy. Emperor's tears and runny nose were smeared all over his shoulder and clothes.

Louis was forced into a corner. He said loudly, "Stop crying. What do you want?"

Emperor was also tired of crying. She said, "I've lost. But I'm not someone who can't afford to lose. Just tell me what you want me to do."

Louis felt a throbbing headache now. He sighed and said, "The only thing I want you to do is stop crying!"

Emperor felt comfortable leaning against Louis's shoulder. Aside from the scent of a man, it gave him a sense of security. Seeing that he had cried all over Louis's clothes, he lifted his head and moved to Louis's other shoulder. In a soft voice, he asked, "Is that all you're asking for?"

Louis nodded. "Yes. What I want most right now is for you to stop crying. It's the deadliest weapon I've ever encountered!"

Emperor smiled and said, "You're so naughty!" Louis looked puzzled and said, "What did I do wrong?" Emperor, leaning comfortably on Louis's shoulder, patted it and said, "Can't we get up? There are many people watching us perform!"

Upon hearing this, Emperor reflexively stood up. Looking around, everyone had surprised expressions on their faces as they looked at her. Emperor's face turned red, and she lowered her head, saying, "I'm sorry! I got your clothes dirty!"

Louis moved his legs that had been numbed from Emperor's weight and stood up: "It's okay, as long as you're not crying. I can give you my clothes."

Hearing his words, a sweet feeling filled Emma's heart as she squinted her eyes at Louis. Louis patted off the dust on his clothes and asked, "Is your name really Emma?" Emma nodded and said, "Yes."

Louis thought to himself: Emperor is named Emma, and that motorcycle girl is named Emily. They are...

Seeing Louis looking down in silence, Emma tugged at his sleeve and said, "What are you thinking? Why aren't you talking? Is my name weird?"

Louis immediately shook his head and said, "No, it's a very beautiful name! You don't hate me now?"

Emma's voice was soft as she said, "I never..." She didn't finish her sentence, lowering her head to play with the edge of her clothing. Emma's shy demeanor surprised the others, and their eyes seemed to convey: Has the world gone crazy today? Or is it the end of the world? How unsettling!

Louis said, "But there's one more thing I have to say. Two tigers cannot share the same mountain. Sooner or later, one of us will have to step off the stage."

This statement shook Emma, who also calmed down. "Are you suggesting that one of us should step back?" she asked.

Confidently, Louis replied, "I have the capability and strength to stay. I don't see Billy as a threat, and your influence..."

Emma interrupted him, saying, "So, you don't see me as a threat either!" Louis smiled, nodded, but didn't say anything.

Emma stared at the man in front of her for a while before saying, "I'm not one to give up easily, but I'm also a smart person. I know I'm not your match, but I can't just leave based on your word alone."

Louis nodded and said, "I'll prove it to you. Within two weeks, I'll make Billy disband. If I can't, I'll leave."

"If you can truly do that, then I won't hesitate to leave either!" Emma was more aware of Billy's strength than anyone else, given how long they had been in competition. She believed that Louis was still young and too arrogant; she thought he would definitely be at a disadvantage against Billy.

"It's a deal!" Louis extended his hand toward Emma. She struck his hand firmly and said, "It's a deal!"

Louis smiled at Emma and said, "Since that's settled, I'll take my leave now. I need to check on my two brothers. Goodbye!"

Emma nodded, her lips slightly parted, but she didn't say anything. Louis waved and turned to leave. Once outside, he took a deep breath, thinking about the fight with Emma just now - it was truly mesmerizing! Shaking his head, he found his own thoughts amusing. He and Emma were not from the same world; moreover, she was the boss of the underworld, while he was just a small-time thug.

Emma watched Louis's departing figure for a long time and made a decision in her heart - she was determined to conquer this man!

As Louis was halfway down the stairs from the third floor, a crowd of people rushed up from below, led by Steven. There were also Jack and Eric with bruises on their faces. Seeing Louis, everyone visibly relaxed. Jack asked loudly, "Louis, are you hurt?"

Louis now had blood on his face, and his shoulder was marked with a large red area.

Louis chuckled, "I'm fine. Steven, why are you here too?" After Steven examined Louis carefully and confirmed he was okay, he said, "Alan called me here. Louis, for such a big development, you should have informed me. What if something had happened to you... Next time, don't do this again!"
