Louis asked, "You must be Finger, right?"
The man chuckled, "You got it. You're much younger than I imagined!"
Louis smiled and replied, "Many people say that about me, but in the end, they never think I'm young."
Finger looked at Louis for a moment and said coldly, "I wonder if the police are short on guys to send such a young undercover agent like you."
Louis chuckled coldly, knowing Finger was trying to deceive him. He didn't respond and waited for Finger to continue. Finger continued, "In the past, they sent five undercover agents to catch me. Do you know what happened to those five?"
"I'm not interested in that."
"But I am. I cut off their heads and put them on tree branches. As for their bodies..." Finger gestured towards the nearby dogs and said, "They're inside their stomachs! Today, you're the sixth!"
Louis burst into laughter and then said coldly, "Finger, if your act is over, we can talk business. I didn't come here for idle chatter. You don't need to use these scare tactics on me. If I were afraid, I wouldn't have come!"
Finger chuckled, "You're definitely from a police background!" He then waved to his henchmen nearby.
Louis felt a sense of alarm and realized that Finger's expression was not an act. He'd be in serious trouble if he were killed like this. With that thought, Louis had no choice but to take a chance. Without waiting for Finger's men to make the first move, he threw a punch at the person closest to him. The man let out a scream, staggered back two meters, and fell to the ground. Louis was about to launch another attack but ultimately gave up because five guns were aimed at his head.
Louis had no choice but to raise his hands and say to Finger, "If you kill me, you'll regret it! Because you'll miss out on a chance to make money!"
Finger laughed, "Is that so? I've never regretted killing a cop before! You don't look that old. Did you even graduate from the police academy? What a pity!" With that, Finger shook his head and said to his men, "What are you waiting for? Kill him!"
The man whom Louis had knocked down got up, and spat out a mouthful of blood, along with two broken teeth. He walked briskly to Louis and delivered a powerful punch to his stomach.
Louis sat on the ground, bent over in pain. Five people nearby approached and pinned Louis to the ground. One of them pulled out a two-foot-long machete from a nearby box and raised it, preparing to strike Louis' neck.
At this moment, Finger extended his hand forward, stopping the next move of the person with the machete. He turned to look at a thin man with glasses standing nearby. The thin man gave him a slight smile and shook his head, indicating Finger to stop. Finger understood his meaning and loudly asked, "Are you really not a cop?"
Just a moment ago, Louis thought he might not survive, and the faces of his loved ones flashed before his mind as he fell to the ground. However, he didn't regret the path he had chosen because it had brought him a kind of happiness he had never experienced before. He felt nothing but resentment in his heart. But now, hearing Finger's words, he realized that Finger had been testing him. Louis cursed Finger in his heart.
"If I were a cop, I'd have had you taken down first!"
Finger waved his hand, signaling his men to step back. He stood up from his chair and approached Louis, saying, "Don't blame me. I'm just being cautious. This is the only way I've managed to survive until today. I apologize for what happened earlier, Louis."
Louis got up from the ground, dusted himself off, and thought that Finger was quite the actor. He didn't want to dwell on this, so he calmed his emotions and said, "Finger, shouldn't we talk about business now?"
Finger nodded and said, "Yes, let's get a chair for Louis." One of his men brought a chair and placed it behind Louis. Louis sat down without hesitation and looked at Finger, saying, "Your way of treating guests is certainly unique! Let's hear your offer."
Finger replied, "You probably already know the market prices. My prices are similar to the market, but I can guarantee that the purity is much higher than what's available on the market."
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
Louis asked, "Tell me your price."
Finger thought for a moment and said, "250." Louis knew he was referring to $250 per gram. He shook his head and said, "Finger, I came here with genuine intentions to do business, but you seem to lack sincerity."
Finger lowered his head for a moment and then said, "How about this, 220. Is that cheap enough for you? It's hard to find this quality at this price on the market."
Louis chuckled inwardly. Based on the prices Steven had told him, Finger's offer was indeed quite cheap. However, there weren't many people coming to Finger for supplies right now, so Louis wanted to seize this opportunity. With that in mind, he still shook his head and said, "No, I came all this way to make a big profit, and it seems you're not showing much sincerity."
Finger became anxious and said loudly, "Don't be hasty; we can negotiate the price slowly. How about this, a fixed price of 200. This is my final offer!" He stared at Louis intently without blinking.
Louis remained silent and continued to shake his head. Finger stood up and said, "Tell me your price! I'm offering such a low price; you have to give me something!"
Louis laughed and said, "180!"
"What? Are you kidding me? 180! I'll buy it from you for 180!" Finger was getting anxious and almost jumped out of his chair. In fact, Louis had guessed Finger's situation correctly. He had the goods but nowhere to sell them. His customer base had dwindled ever since the first police raid. After several subsequent raids, he finally had someone interested in doing business, and Finger wasn't going to let this opportunity slip away easily.
Louis looked into Finger's eyes and said, "I can only offer this price. If you find it acceptable, we can make the deal; if not, I'll look for someone else. But there's one condition: I need a long-term supply, not just a one-time transaction."
Finger rubbed his hands together and told Louis, "Give me a moment to consider." Finger paced around in a small warehouse, quickly calculating the pros and cons in his mind. His associates were all watching him, as they hadn't had money to spend for days.
Finally, Finger stomped his foot and asked Louis, "How much are you willing to take this time?"
Louis thought for a moment and said, "I want 5 kilograms!" Finger and his guys were taken aback; 5 kilograms was not a small quantity. Finger reevaluated Louis and asked, "5 kilograms? Can you sell that much?"
Louis smiled and replied, "Don't worry. As long as you agree to my price, I'll take 5 kilograms this time. Perhaps even more in the future."
Finger agreed, saying, "Alright, we'll go with your price!" Although Louis had offered a very low price, Finger was still making money; just not as much as he would have liked.
Louis added, "One more thing, the goods should be delivered to your specifications, and payment will be made upon delivery. I assume you have no objections to that, right?"
Finger pointed at Louis and chuckled, "Of course not! You're quite shrewd. Tonight, don't leave, I'll host you properly!" He then turned to the people around him and said, "Get a few chickens and some alcohol and meat for tonight. I and our friends here are going to have a good chat! We'll be working closely together in the future!"
The others agreed and rushed outside. Louis said, "Finger, I'll gladly accept this meal, but you don't need to go overboard. Keep it simple."
Finger waved his hand, saying, "You're our guest. We should treat you well on your first visit."
Louis thought to himself, "He was just about to kill me earlier, and now he's being so courteous. Finger is indeed not an ordinary person. I need to be careful."
Louis and Finger began chatting, mostly about trivial matters. Finger shared stories of his past achievements and how he had fallen from grace. Eventually, Louis was getting sleepy. Finger grinned and said, "I have a surprise for you tonight!"
Louis was puzzled and asked, "What surprise?"
Finger squinted his eyes and said, "Don't be in a hurry; you'll find out soon enough."
Louis pursed his lips and wondered what the surprise could be. In the evening, Finger's associates had prepared the meal. Finger invited Louis to sit down, poured a glass of wine for him, filled his own glass, and raised it, saying, "This is our first meeting, and if there's any hospitality lacking, please forgive us. Here's to a pleasant future partnership. Cheers!"
Louis nodded and said, "Pleasure working with you!" Louis took a few bites of his food. It was clear that Finger was genuinely happy today, having secured Louis as a big client, which meant more money in the future.
While eating, Louis asked, "When can I expect the goods to arrive?"
Finger thought for a moment and replied, "If you're in a hurry, I can have the goods delivered in less than three days!"
Louis nodded and said, "Alright, I'll wait for your message. When I get back, I'll buy a cell phone and then give you my number. Please call me before the goods arrive."
Finger chuckled and said, "You don't even have a cell phone? Do you want me to give you one?"
Louis smiled, knowing that Finger was being polite, but he replied, "Thank you, but let's wait until our relationship is more established before you give me one. I'd feel awkward accepting it now."
Finger laughed at that and said, "Alright, cheers!" Louis had no choice but to have another drink with Finger. After a while, he started feeling a bit lightheaded from the alcohol and refused any more drinks, despite Finger's attempts to persuade him.
As everyone finished eating, Finger stood up unsteadily and said to someone, "Go find a large and clean room for Louis!" The guy agreed and walked away.
Finger held Louis's hand and slurred, "I've had a bit too much today. It's mainly because I'm so happy!" Then, he led Louis towards a small black door in the room. When they reached the door, he shouted loudly, "Get someone here!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a man rushed over and said, "Finger, trying something new this time?"
Finger slapped him on the head and scolded, "Find that woman and let her spend the night with Louis!"
