Chapter 6 Emerge

Chapter 6 Emerge

The student with small eyes heard these words, his eyes widened in round circles, and said loudly, "Do you want to fight? Get out of here quickly, I don't have time to play with you."

"Your eyes aren't even as big as soybeans!"

The small-eyes was furious; he detested being called out for his small eyes. Today, he was publicly humiliated by a new student, and he was about to take action. Louis stopped him and said, "Let it go. My friend is new here, we'll move the bike somewhere else."

The small-eyes pushed his hand away. "It's not that simple! Step aside. I'm going to beat you up!"

Jack couldn't hold back; he couldn't stand people insulting Louis. Jack approached him and with a swing of his hand, slapped the small-eyes across the face. The small-eyes took two steps back.

"You dare to hit me?!"

"Hit you? I’ll teach you a lesson about how to be a man!" Jack declared, kicking the small-eyes in the stomach. The small-eyes lost his balance and sat on the ground. Jack took a step forward and gave a forceful kick.

The skinny student beside the small-eyes wanted to intervene as he saw him getting beaten up, but Eric stopped him. Eric looked back at Louis, and upon seeing Louis smiling, he immediately understood Louis's intention. He said to the people around, "Let's gather around for a warm-up."

This group of people had been eager to try for a while. Just now, Louis remained silent, not daring to make a move. But now, upon hearing Eric's shout, all of them wore malicious grins as they surrounded the thin one. One of them said, "I'm coming!" Lifting his foot and kicked the thin one’s leg, causing him to stagger. Another person came over, grabbing the thin one’s hair and forcefully pulling it downward. The thin one’s scalp was in immense pain from the pull, forcing him to bend over. The others rushed in, attacking the thin student with punches and kicks.

At this moment, a man who appeared to be a teacher walked into the shed, and everyone immediately stopped. The man entered the shed, locked up the bike, and then briskly walked away.

Jack looked at Eric with a puzzled expression, "Is that person a monitor? Why didn't he say a word?" Eric was equally puzzled, shaking his head, "I don't know. This place really has a lot of strange things!" Everyone nodded in agreement.

Seeing the two groaning on the ground, Louis said to everyone, "That's enough, let's go!" Following Louis, they locked up the bike and arrived at the playground. By now, quite a few people had gathered there. Jack muttered softly, "Looks like there are quite a lot of students here!"

Groups of people were scattered across the playground, each with unique attire. Those without cigarettes were in the minority. Louis became excited; he enjoyed challenges and wanted to conquer them.

Louis and his group stood at the forefront, and in a short while, over forty people had gathered. Louis said to Jack, "Jack, go and see if there are any people left to come." Jack nodded, staying in place and then clearing his throat to shout, "Louis is here!" His voice echoed throughout the entire playground. Eric stood next to Jack, and he kicked Jack behind, saying, "Louis told you to find people, not to shout!"

Jack laughed and said, "How's my voice? It's quite impactful, isn't it?"

Jack's shout was effective, and some people who hadn't found Louis come to here quickly.

However, a wave of cursing erupted from the surroundings. "Who is it? What's with the shouting?" "Whoever was shouting just now sounded like a ghost!" Jack's face turned red, and he angrily shouted, "It was me who shouted. Anyone who's not convinced can come over to challenge me!"

Louis waved his hand to signal the people around Jack to step aside, exposing Jack alone on the playground. Louis initially didn't want trouble as soon as he arrived, but he changed his mind. He wanted to establish his dominance in front of the newcomers, and he didn't stop Jack.

There were hot-tempered guys on the playground, all gathering around Jack. A student in blue clothing said, "You were the one shouting just now?" Jack looked at him and said, "You're too weak to challenge me, get out!"

The blue-clothing, upon seeing Jack's stout figure, actually claimed he wasn't worthy of being an opponent. He didn't speak further, instead swinging a fist toward Jack. Jack was experienced in fights; as the opponent's fist came, he caught it. With his other hand slapped the blue-clothing across the face. The slap was powerful, sending the student stumbling back several steps, unable to get up.

Jack scanned the surroundings and shouted loudly, "Who's next?" Jack's words incited anger, and seven to eight guys moved forward to surround him. "So, you want a group fight, huh? Today, I'll play along with you!" Jack's face turned somewhat sinister, startling these people.

These guys felt that no matter how strong Jack was, he couldn't defeat a larger group. They all charged at Jack together, and a few people got into a brawl. In a moment, several of them had injuries on their faces. Louis nodded to Eric, who took a swift step forward. He grabbed one by the neck and ruthlessly punched his stomach. The guy let out a miserable scream, curling up almost into a ball. Eric threw him out and grabbed the next one.

Jack and Eric beat down several guys. Those attempting to escape were stopped by Louis, who knocked one down with a punch. Seeing these guys lying on the ground unable to get up, Louis signaled for everyone to stop. Jack wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and grinned with a snarl, "Anyone else?"

The other guys looked at the people on the ground, their faces covered in blood, and a wave of fear ran through them. Suddenly, Jack remembered what Louis had said before about avoiding trouble for now and thought to himself: "Damn it!" He glanced back at Louis and saw Louis nodding approvingly, which reassured Jack. Standing up straight, he shouted, "I know some of you still don't yield, but do you know who we are? The one behind me is Louis. If you want to challenge us, think it through!"

The surrounding men discussed among themselves; they had all heard of Louis. Just then, a voice came over the loudspeaker, "Everyone assembles on the playground quickly." The people stopped talking and stood in formation.

Before long, a few teachers emerged from the teaching building. The leader was a slightly balding middle-aged man in his fifties, holding a megaphone. They positioned themselves on a small platform about a meter high at the front of the playground. The middle-aged man with thinning hair picked up the megaphone and announced, "Hello, everybody. I am the principal of the university. Welcome to join us." The principal concluded his speech and another teacher took the megaphone to announce the division of classes.

After the class assignments were completed, Louis and Jack were still placed together with a few other siblings. Eric was assigned to a different class, looking quite unhappy. The other people Louis brought along were scattered into various classes. Louis's teacher was a man in his forties, not very tall, and wearing glasses.

Louis sat in a seat in the middle of the classroom, and his deskmate was an outgoing girl. As soon as Louis sat down, the girl extended her hand in front of him, "Hello, I'm Lily." Louis shook the girl's hand and said, "I'm Louis, nice to meet you!" At this moment, Louis got a clear look at Lily's appearance. She was very cute, with big eyes, long eyelashes that fluttered like two little fans when she blinked.

"Louis? I feel like I've heard that name somewhere before!" Lily blinked her eyes, trying to remember, but couldn't quite recall. She looked at Louis with a puzzled expression and asked, "Do you know anyone at University X?" Louis shook his head, smiling without saying a word.

Jack was seated in front of Louis, often turning around to look at him. Louis noticed and patted Jack's head, asking, "Jack, why do you keep looking at me?"

Jack had a mournful face and gestured towards the girl next to him. Louis chuckled and glanced sympathetically at Jack's deskmate. Lily caught Louis's gaze and immediately understood his meaning. "You're so naughty! Making fun of others like that!" "Just a little joke!"

"You guys are really interesting!" Upon hearing Lily's laughter, Jack felt a pang in his heart and let out a long sigh, "Oh, I'm so handsome, but..." He turned to look at the girl beside him. "It's just too bad I'm not in the right era!"

At this moment, the teacher walked to the front of the classroom and tapped the desk in front of the podium. "Quiet, everyone!" The classroom fell silent. The teacher continued, "Now, let me introduce myself!" He picked up a piece of chalk and wrote his name on the blackboard in a flamboyant manner: "This is my name!"

A student stood up and asked, "Sorry, I don't recognize the characters you wrote. Could you read it out loud?"

The teacher's expression changed, and he threw the chalk to the student's head. "What's wrong with you? You don't even recognize the characters in your own name!" Seeing the student's face turn red, he paused and said, "Let me tell you! My name is Bob!"

Jack whispered to Louis, "This teacher actually hit someone!"

Louis whispered back, "Teachers like this can be found everywhere."

"What are you two whispering about?" The teacher glared at Louis and Jack. Jack turned his head to look at him and refrained from speaking.

The teacher picked up a piece of paper and then announced loudly, "Now I'll take attendance. When I call your name, raise your hand and answer. Let's begin!"

"Jack." Jack raised his hand with a feeble response. The teacher gave him a stern look and continued, "Louis..." When the teacher reached Louis's name, he paused and chuckled, "What a strange name. I remember there's a character in a TV show with the name Louis!" Jack was furious upon hearing this, and he was about to stand up but was held back by Louis.

Bob completely ignored the students' angry glares and continued, "What were your parents thinking, giving you such a name?"

Louis stood up slowly. "Mr. Bob, insulting someone's name is very impolite. Didn't your parents have told you?"
