Chapter 42 Rebel

Chapter 42 Rebel

Louis squatted down and said, "I'm going to ask you a few questions, and if you don't answer truthfully, I'll get angry, and when I get angry, I'm capable of doing anything!"

The guy stared at Louis without saying a word. Louis continued, "First, did you place the drugs?" The guy nodded, "Very well!" Louis smiled and said, "Second, are you one of Dragon's guys?" The guy nodded again. "Third, who sent you?" Louis fixed his gaze on the guy without looking away.

The guy took a deep breath, feeling the immense pressure from Louis's demeanor. His eyes avoided direct contact, and he whispered, "It's Emmanuel!"

Louis waved his hand dismissively and said, "Liar. I despise liars! Cut off one of his fingers first!"

Two guys let him open his hands. The man knew what was going to happen and struggled desperately. But no one sympathized with him. One guy pulled out a dagger from his waist and slashed the man's little finger.

The guy screamed in pain and rolled on the ground, leaving traces of blood on the ground around him. Louis stepped forward, stepped on the guy's chest with his foot, and then asked, "I wonder if you want to say it now?"

The guy looked at Louis in a daze and said, "I didn't... didn't lie. I was sent by Emmanuel..."

Louis shook his head: "You are testing my patience! Cut off one more finger!" Immediately, two guys came up and chopped off another finger of the guy's finger neatly.

Louis looked down and said, "Walk him up!" A man agreed, picked up a bottle of beer, and poured it on the guy's head.

The guy groaned and woke up in a daze. He looked at Louis in fear, with sweat all over his face. Louis smiled and said: "How about it? I don't know if you have thought clearly! If you lie to me again, I will chop off all of your fingers. When the fingers are chopped off, it will be the toes. When the toes are gone, then I will have to cut off your body. But you will never die quickly, because you can’t die before I get the answer!”

Louis's words made those around him break into a cold sweat because they knew that Louis meant what he said. The guy closed their eyes in silence for a while, and after two minutes, slowly asked, "If I tell the truth, will you spare me?"

Louis looked at him and said frankly, "No, you're a smart person; you should know the consequences of what you've done. Don't mistake me for a kind-hearted guy. You have to die; it's just a matter of whether you die comfortably or painfully. The choice is yours."

Eric looked at Louis strangely, thinking that he had been so clear, would this guy still tell the truth? But the guy replied, "Alright, just as the rumors say, Louis is indeed not ordinary. I surrender. I'll tell you, the guy who sent me is Dragon Elder Vic!" After saying this, he closed his eyes and lay on the ground.

Louis, upon hearing this, thought to himself, "This is bad! If Vic is making such a big move, could it be a rebellion? If so, Emmanuel is in danger!" Louis shouted to the person, "Is Vic planning a rebellion?"

The guy replied, "That plan has been in place for a while! Emmanuel is probably already dead, and Vic is now the Dragon leader."

Louis's head spun after hearing this news. He waved his hand, not wanting to look at the guy or hear his annoying laughter anymore. Louis first tried to call Emmanuel, but his phone was switched off. Louis hung up the call and immediately called Jerry, saying, "Jerry, it's Louis. You need to quickly investigate Dragon, especially any news about Emmanuel. Dragon might be in turmoil!"

Jerry had just received a call from Ninja and couldn't afford to delay. He nodded and said, "Alright, Louis, I'll send people right away."

Louis added, "Remember, it has to be fast. I need accurate information before 8:00 p.m.!"

Louis and the others were waiting for news. Eric walked over to Louis and whispered, "Louis, do you think we should try to get Steven out first?"

Louis was also considering a plan, but there wasn't a straightforward solution. Trying to have Peter release Steven would be too difficult. Louis stood up and asked, "Where was Steven arrested?"

Eric replied, "It should be at the local police station in this area."

Louis checked the time, and it was just past 6:00 p.m. He said, "Alright, I'll go check on Steven and see if there's a way to get him out for now." He then walked towards the door, and the others followed quietly. Louis stopped at the door and turned to everyone, saying, "You all stay here. We're not here to start a fight. If too many of us show up, the police might think we're planning something. Right now, we can't give them any reason to hold onto us."

Louis arrived at the police station, and most of the officers had already finished their shifts, leaving only a few on duty. Louis walked in and stood in the corridor, waiting for a passing officer. Politely, he said, "Excuse me?"

The officer stopped and looked at Louis, asking, "What can I do for you?"

"Did you recently arrest someone named Steven around here? I'd like to see him," Louis inquired.

The officer replied, "I'm sorry, but that's not possible. He's a repeat offender and could be facing a prison sentence. No one is allowed to see him right now. You might want to come back later."

Louis asked, "Well, can I see the chief? Do you know where his office is?"

Seeing that Louis was persistent, the officer shook his head and said, "His office is on the second floor. Just head upstairs and turn left."

Louis went upstairs, knocked on the door, and heard a deep voice from inside, "Come in!"

Louis entered, and the chief saw him, quickly standing up and saying, "Louis, please have a seat."

Louis got straight to the point, saying, "I believe you know why I'm here."

The chief understood the situation and didn't want to offend Louis. He said, "Louis, Steven was arrested on orders from higher-ups. If you're here to ask me to release him, I truly can't do that."

Louis knew the chief was telling the truth and replied, "I'm not here to ask for his release, and you don't have that authority anyway. I just want to see him. That should be acceptable, right?"

The chief breathed a sigh of relief and smiled, saying, "Of course, that shouldn't be a problem. Not a problem at all." Louis nodded with a smile in response.

The chief led Louis to the detention room. As soon as they entered, he laughed. He saw Steven and three other guys playing cards, with beer bottles and cans scattered all over the floor. When they noticed the chief and Louis entering, they quickly got up. Steven looked at Louis and said with a smile, "Don't think being locked up means I can't eat and drink well!"

Louis found a chair and sat down, saying, "I'm relieved to see you're okay. You don't need to worry here. There are a lot of things to deal with for now, but I'll find a way to get you out soon." Steven replied, "I'm fine. Who dares to mess with me now? Don't worry about me."

Louis held Steven's hand and said, "Relax and enjoy your time here. I guarantee you'll be safely out within ten days. Consider this time as a vacation!" Steven was touched by Louis's concern and used laughter to mask his inner excitement.

The Hill Hotel is a top-notch hotel, luxurious in its decor, and the ideal place for wealthy people to dine and stay overnight. Vito drove Emma and Emily to this place, and in no time, the hotel staff brought food and drinks. Vito poured them wine. Emma furrowed her brows and said, "Emily and I don't drink alcohol. Some soft drinks will do."

Vito slapped his forehead and said, "Oh, I completely forgot that!" He stood up, opened the door, and said to the guy outside, "Go get me two bottles of juice." Vito exchanged a discreet glance with the guy, and the guy understood Vito's meaning, acknowledging and leaving.

Vito sat down and chatted with Emma and Emily, making small talk. Emily interrupted him, saying, "Vito, you mentioned something about Louis. Tell us quickly!" Vito, hearing this, felt a surge of jealousy and hidden resentment. "Bitch, you only have Louis on your mind," he thought. "I'll make sure you forget everything else soon. Just wait!"
