Chapter 19 Gunfire

Chapter 19 Gunfire

Steven laughed and said, "Jack, you're not suited for using guns. A knife is more appropriate for you. Moreover, we only have three guns for now, just be patient!"

Jack looked unhappy and said, "You all have handguns! Carrying a handgun is so imposing!"

Alan chuckled and said, "I don't have one either! Whether we carry guns now or not, it doesn't matter. We'll definitely have them in the future! Besides, Tiger must have guns, and by then, we'll just get a few more guns from there!"

Jack sighed, "Well, I guess there's nothing else to do."

Louis and the others picked up the handguns and began practicing, while Jack stood to the side, pouting, and started shooting sparrows with a hunting rifle out of boredom. By evening, they all returned in a car. Like this, Louis spent five days practicing with his guys repeatedly. Though they weren't very familiar with the hunting rifles in their hands, most of them had grasped some tricks.

After five days, Louis gathered the guys who had been practicing shooting at Spring KTV and went over the detailed action plan. As they listened, they nodded in agreement. After finishing the arrangement, Louis let everyone rest for a while. He and Steven, Alan, and the others went over the plan again, making sure nothing had been overlooked before they finally sighed in relief.

Louis was particularly cautious about this operation because he knew who they were dealing with. They had the support of a Russian gang, and their strength was beyond imagination. Therefore, Louis had put in his utmost effort in planning this operation.

At 5:00 p.m., everyone was getting ready to depart. Louis reiterated, "No matter who the other party is, whether they are male or female, young or old, strike ruthlessly and leave no survivors!" Everyone knew the danger of this mission and unanimously agreed.

At 6:00 p.m., Louis led forty guys in a truck to an abandoned factory on the outskirts that had been deserted for a long time. The truck stopped about a mile away from the factory, and Louis left Alan and others to watch the vehicle. He instructed them to go immediately when they heard gunshots stop. Louis and Steven proceeded slowly toward the factory with the group.

When they were about fifty meters away, Steven halted and whispered, "There are guards there, everyone is cautious!" He pointed quietly to a large tree ahead. Louis squinted and indeed saw two individuals standing there, seemingly engrossed in conversation. Although it was midsummer, the sky was still somewhat dim at around six o'clock, and it was genuinely difficult to spot the two guys beneath the tree without careful observation.

Louis exchanged a glance with Steven and Eric, and the two understood. They handed their guns to the person next to them, drew their knives, and silently approached. The two individuals under the tree remained oblivious to the impending danger. In their minds, this area fell within Tiger's territory, and only someone seeking death would dare to cause trouble here.

Steven and Eric kept their bodies close to the ground, quietly advancing and swiftly taking down the guards from behind. Once within striking range, the two exchanged nods and simultaneously attacked the guards, one for each. Eric covered one guard's mouth with his hand and used his other hand to stab the guard's abdomen with his knife. He didn't know how many times he stabbed, but he stopped only when the struggle in front of him ceased. Eric checked the guard's breath; there was no warmth left, confirming his death. He turned to look at Steven, who had taken down the other guard. That guard had endured several knife wounds on his neck from Steven and was now motionless.

The two exchanged a smile, and Steven raised his arm, gesturing to Louis that the situation was under control. Louis received the signal and led the group forward. They slowly approached the factory, intermittently hearing voices from within. Steven led the way, arriving at the factory's entrance and keeping his body concealed behind a wall as he peeked inside.

Inside, there were two groups of people – one group with ten members and another with two guys. Among the larger group, a foreigner with blonde hair stood at the forefront. Steven speculated that they were likely Tiger's guys. The other two guys seemed to be the ones they were dealing with. Four large boxes were placed beside them, and two cargo trucks were parked in the corner of the factory. Louis came up behind Steven, crouched down, and looked inside. After observing for a while, Louis turned to the others and made a gesture. Everyone understood and began dispersing around the factory.

After five minutes, a cautious person approached Louis quietly. He leaned in and whispered, "Louis, we're all ready!"

Louis nodded, wiping the sweat from his palms. He extended three fingers to the nearby men. Everyone understood that this meant to silently count to three in their minds and then open fire together. Louis held a pistol in one hand and a knife in the other, leaning against the wall.

The three-count felt like three years to Louis. When the time came, Louis shouted loudly and burst in from the entrance. He raised his hand and fired a shot into the crowd, regardless of hitting anyone. He kept pulling the trigger in succession until the magazine was empty. Almost simultaneously, the others waiting at the entrance rushed out, shooting into the crowd inside the factory. In an instant, the twelve people involved in the deal were reduced to five. As Tiger had his back to the door and was closest to it, the five hits were his men.

These people were all fugitives. Upon hearing the gunshots, they immediately sensed trouble and sought cover. The Russian man leading Tiger's group cursed loudly, grabbing the two guys they were trading with. "You dare to ambush us!" he exclaimed. Without another word, he pulled out his gun and fired wildly at the two. They were killed by the random shots.

Tiger's men took cover and began firing back at Louis and his group by the door. Unable to push forward, Louis and his men took cover on both sides. The two sides engaged in a firefight. At this moment, the people who had circled around to the back of the factory began to take action upon hearing the gunshots. They quickly scaled the factory wall and launched a fierce attack from behind Tiger. Although their shotguns didn't have the same power as Tiger's guns, they had a widespread, allowing them to hit multiple targets without precise aiming.

Tiger was caught off guard by this sudden attack from behind, and the remaining five men were riddled with bullets. Only the Russian man and a bespectacled individual remained standing. The bespectacled one spoke a few words to the Russian man, then yelled and charged toward the guys behind them. While running, he intermittently fired his gun at the opposition.

The exposed guys who ran outside were immediately turned into a sieve by the indiscriminate gunfire from both the front and back of the factory. They were covered in bullet holes from head to toe.

The Russian took advantage of the opponent's distraction, taking a swift step to the side of the factory wall and leaping over it. Despite being injured, their movements remained agile. With a quick vault over the wall, they disappeared. Louis sensed trouble and shouted, "Don't let him escape!"

At the same time Louis spoke, Steven quickly pursued.

The Russian vaulted over the wall and started running through the overgrown grass. Steven and the others followed closely behind, occasionally firing a few shots, but due to nervousness and distance, none hit the target. The Russian displayed remarkable bursts of speed, quickly leaving the pursuers behind. Suddenly, they heard the sound of a car horn on the nearby road, and their spirits lifted. They rushed toward the road. A beat-up MPV came into view. The person stood in the middle of the road and shouted for help. The MPV stopped beside them, and a young man got out and asked, "Do you need help?"

The Russian exclaimed, "There's... someone... trying to kill me! Save me!" They glanced back frequently while speaking. Unexpectedly, as the Russian turned their head, the young man swiftly drew a wide two-inch blade from their waist and viciously thrust it in. The Russian couldn't react in time. The blade only partially entered his abdomen, with its tip protruding from their lower back.

The young man noticed the Russian's intense gaze and pale face. They forcefully pulled the knife out. "I don't know who you are, but if you're looking for someone to blame, blame your bad luck for running into me!" After saying this, the young man glanced at the Russian, who was convulsing on the ground and continued, "We didn't intend to kill you, but the price you offered was way too unreasonable. We had no choice." After wiping sweat from their forehead, they kicked the Russian into the grass at the roadside. Then, they got back into the car and told the driver to be ready to leave.

The Russian lay on the ground, staring with wide eyes, as blood slowly seeped from his body. His body became colder. Summoning the last bit of strength, he lifted his hand and wrote a few words in Russian on the ground beneath them.

At that moment, Steven and the others caught up from behind. Seeing the MPV, Steven exclaimed, "Alan, did you see a Russian?"

The young man in the car laughed and said, "I took care of it!" It turned out that the young person who had killed the Russian was Alan. The timing was coincidental; Alan had stayed in the car to keep watch. When he first heard a burst of gunfire, followed by sporadic shots, he got worried that something had happened to Louis and the others. He hurriedly came over and unexpectedly encountered a bloodied Russian, who appeared anxious. Alan, quick-witted, deduced the situation and seized the opportunity to strike the Russian while they were off-guard.

Steven asked, "Where's the body?" Alan pointed to the bushes. Steven walked over quickly, with Alan following behind. He approached and felt the breath of the Russian man, feeling relieved. Alan stared at the ground beneath the Russian man and smiled slightly. He didn't say anything, and together with Steven and the others, they took a car to the factory.

At that moment, Louis furrowed his brow. The Russian man had seen the appearance of his team members. If he were allowed to escape, it would always pose a threat. Just as he was getting anxious, he saw Steven and the others returning. Louis hurriedly asked, "Steven, did that guy run away?"

Steven laughed and said, "He did run away! But Alan took care of him in the end!" Louis gave Alan a deep look and said, "Well done!" Then he said to everyone, "Quick, load the stuff onto the car. We can't waste any more time!"

The group of people collectively lifted four large boxes and placed them in the car. Jack ran over, holding a black leather bag, and handed it to Louis. Louis took it, feeling its weight. He initially wanted to open it and take a look, but it was locked with a password. With no time to spare, Louis tossed the bag onto the car and saw that all four boxes were loaded. He directed everyone to get in the car and leave.

Just then, Eric ran over and said, "Louis, what should we do about the guys who are still alive?"

Louis hesitated for a moment and made a decision, "No survivors." Eric nodded and said, "Understood!" He then drew his knife and walked towards the few people who hadn't died.

As the car arrived in the city area, Louis had some of the guys in the truck disembark. Having so many people in the truck attracted too much attention. Those who got out of the car took taxis to a location near Spring KTV and finally regrouped at Spring KTV.

The factory battle was intense, but it didn't last more than ten minutes in total. Moreover, it was eerily quiet, with not a single survivor. Tiger's men were the first to arrive at the scene. They were shocked and furious about the incident. Later, Tiger discovered the body of the Russian man, underneath which were a few lines written in Russian before his death. Tiger didn't reveal the contents of those Russian lines, but afterward, he launched a furious attack against Sword, dragging Dragon and Devil into it as well.

Louis and the others didn't anticipate that their actions would trigger such a massive upheaval in the underworld. The police have mobilized a masse, conducting a city-wide patrol.

Back to Spring KTV. They carried their spoils into the room. Only then did they finally breathe a sigh of relief. They sat on the floor, lighting cigarettes to ease their psychological tension. Louis's first words upon entering the room were, "Forget everything that happened today. Don't mention it to anyone, not even your own parents. This isn't just about our own lives, but also about the survival of the entire organization! Do you all understand?"

Everyone replied in unison, "We understand, Louis!" Jack stood up and loudly declared, "Anyone who talks about today's events, I'll take them out!"

Louis glared at Jack, who quickly sat down and said, "Consider me silent!" Laughter filled the room, and the atmosphere lightened considerably. Louis turned to Steven and said, "Open the boxes, and let's see. Let's find out what good stuff Tiger was trading."

Steven agreed and fetched a screwdriver from a toolbox. He approached the box and slowly pried it open along the seams.

Others gathered around, curious about the box's contents. Eric stood to the side and said, "Why are you all so eager to see? Stuff coming from Russia, besides weapons, what else could it be?!"

Upon hearing Eric's words, everyone felt he had a point and settled back down on the floor.

After much effort, Steven managed to pry the box open and said, "Eric was right. But these aren't just ordinary weapons!"

Everyone was puzzled, coming closer to see what was inside. When they saw the contents, their jaws dropped. Someone couldn't help but exclaim, "Did the Russians plan to go to war!?"

It turned out that the box contained rocket launchers, submachine guns, pistols, hand grenades, and even landmines. Everyone was stunned and thought, no wonder the box was so heavy! Louis took out a pistol. It was silver in color, less than half a foot long, and felt comfortable in his hand. Though Louis didn't know its name, he was certain that this gun wasn't something could buy on the black market.
