After everyone returned to the Hotel, Louis asked everyone to go home and rest.
"What? You want a young girl to be with me all day?" Louis couldn't believe it, looking at Jerry. Having a girl follow him around, he couldn't even imagine it. Aside from everything else, he couldn't possibly let Anne come home with him.
Jerry said, "Louis, you're not just an ordinary student anymore. Your life now affects the entire gang's survival. If something happens to you, Nightmare could fall apart in less than half a month. For your safety and for Nightmare, Anne must stay by your side."
Louis felt a headache coming on after hearing this. He knew Jerry had a point, but having Anne around was really inconvenient. He reluctantly said, "I have the ability to protect myself. I think I don't need someone else to protect me."
Jerry shook his head and smiled at Louis, saying, "How about this, Louis? I'll let you pick five Ninja members. If you can defeat them, it proves you have the strength to protect yourself, and Anne won't have to be with you. But if you're defeated by them, Louis, I think you'll have to agree."
Steven, Jack, and others nearby, who had initially wanted to go home and sleep, suppressed their desires and watched the lively scene, smiling as they looked at Louis and Jerry. Jack even shouted, "Louis, what's there to be afraid of when fighting them? I believe in your abilities!"
Steven also chimed in loudly, "How tough can these Ninjas be? Jerry, you haven't seen Louis in a fight. He wouldn't even care if there were ten or eight of them!"
Louis smiled upon hearing this. He also agreed with Steven's perspective. After all, Ninja had only been training for a little over a month. What achievements could they have in such a short time? He nodded and agreed to Jerry's request.
Picking five Ninja members at random, Louis brought them into a spacious hall, keeping everyone else, except Jerry, outside. Jack wasn't pleased with this and muttered, "Why does he always do this, not letting anyone watch? Is Louis afraid of losing face in front of us?"
After about ten minutes, Louis and the others came out of the room. No one said anything. Louis walked up to Anne and said, "Come with me." Then he made a phone call home, saying that the distance between home and school was too far, and it wasn't convenient to commute, so he would be staying in the dormitory at school from now on. After the call, Louis found a double room in the Northern Hotel and settled in.
Everyone asked Jerry for the results, but Jerry shook his head with a gloomy expression and didn't say anything. He took a car home. However, based on Louis's behavior, everyone guessed that Louis must have lost. They just didn't notice the bitterness on Jerry's face.
Louis and Anne entered the room, and when Louis saw her expressionless face, he wanted to tease her. He chuckled and said, "Anne, can you smile?"
Anne didn't respond and removed her coat, lying down on the bed. Louis blushed, thinking, "This girl is really cool!" He went into the bathroom to clean himself up. After a fierce battle, he felt like he was covered in bloodstains. Taking a shower would make him feel better psychologically.
After Louis had finished grooming and lay down on the bed, Anne finally got up from the bed, her face slightly flushed, and walked into the bathroom. Louis couldn't sleep, and his eyes glanced at the bathroom, which surprised him. The bathroom door was made of glass, so he couldn't see anything from the inside out, but he could vaguely see from the outside in. As he looked at Anne's faintly visible body, Louis's face turned red, thinking, "Did Anne just see me naked earlier?"
With this thought in mind, Louis pulled the covers over his head and went to sleep.
The next day, Emmanuel personally came to find Louis. Upon meeting, Emmanuel smiled and said, "Impressive! You fought beautifully in the early morning. Although you didn't kill Asa, you took half of his life!"
Louis was taken aback and asked hastily, "Asa didn't die?"
"Right, but he's seriously injured," Emmanuel replied.

Louis shook his head and sighed, realizing that he had killed the wrong guy yesterday. Louis voiced his doubts, and Emmanuel laughed and said, "Don't blame Steven for this. Asa has a brother who looks just like him, and Steven has never seen them both. It's mainly my fault for not explaining to you beforehand that Asa had a brother. Although Asa didn't die, the Devil's core strength has been severely weakened, and his brother is dead. Either way, this is a cause for celebration! Our troubles will be much less in the future!"
Louis still felt regretful, but he asked, "What are your plans for the future?"
Emmanuel replied, "While Asa is hospitalized with his injuries, we'll strike together to take down Devil. Then, the entire city's underworld will be ours!"
Louis agreed. Emmanuel was right; they couldn't give Devil any chance to bounce back and had to crush it completely. They spent a long time in the room discussing their plan to join forces against the Devil. Afterward, they relaxed and chatted casually. Emmanuel noticed Anne behind Louis, and his eyes lit up. He silently admired her beauty and pointed to Anne, asking, "Who is this young lady?"
Louis was embarrassed to reveal that she was his bodyguard, so he made up a story, saying, "She... She's the deputy head of the Ninja, both in terms of intelligence and skills, she's quite formidable!" Anne heard this, looked at Louis, and then turned away without saying a word.
Emmanuel couldn't take his eyes off Anne, finding her to have an extraordinary aura. He liked her but didn't understand why. Louis noticed Emmanuel's distraction and asked, "Something wrong?"
Emmanuel suddenly snapped out of his trance and thought to himself that he shouldn't be such a lecherous person. However, he couldn't help but feel captivated by this girl today. He sighed, shifted the conversation to Emily, and tried to ease his embarrassment, but his gaze involuntarily drifted back toward Anne.
In the afternoon, Emmanuel forcefully dragged Louis to have lunch, and of course, he didn't forget to invite Anne. During the meal, Emmanuel always tried to strike up a conversation with Anne, but she only nodded occasionally and didn't say a word. This made Emmanuel feel like a failure, while Louis, although not having spent much time with Anne, had some understanding of her personality and wasn't surprised by her silence.
In the evening, Louis gathered the core members for a meeting. During the meeting, Louis first informed everyone that Asa hadn't died but had been seriously injured in an accidental explosion. This news dampened everyone's spirits a bit, but Louis encouraged them, saying, "Asa not being dead is not a big deal. He's lying in the hospital and can't do much right now, so there's no need to worry!"
Due to the increasing size of the guild, Louis had everyone select deputy department heads based on their department's situation for better management. Louis had observed the power of the Ninja during the attack on Devil's headquarters and instructed Jerry to expand the ranks of the covert team members, focusing on quality rather than quantity. He then discussed the next steps for the attack on the Devil with everyone. Since Devil had little strength left, the plan was quickly agreed upon, and the meeting ended shortly.
Although Louis was somewhat disappointed with the results from the previous day, he still gathered everyone for a meal that evening. Louis drank heavily and ended up being escorted back to his room by Steven and Anne.
The next day, when Louis woke up, it was already past eight o'clock. In the past few days, Louis had been busy dealing with Devil's affairs and had rarely gone to school. Today, the guild members were resting, and he had no obligations, so he took Anne to school. The school had lost some of its vitality without Nightmare's training, but there were still many students. Anne undoubtedly attracted everyone's attention as Louis rarely had women around him. When a beautiful lady suddenly appeared, students crowded around to get a look. Louis was not pleased with this and glared to clear a ten-meter radius around him.
However, the news of Louis having a girlfriend spread quickly. The current Louis was a source of pride and representation for the school, so any news about him became widely known. The news soon reached Emily's ears, and at first, she was skeptical. She knew Louis's character, but with everyone saying the same thing, she couldn't help but believe it. A girl with a good relationship with Emily relayed the message, confirming that it was true and that she had seen it with her own eyes.
Emily couldn't sit still and went to Louis's classroom to confront him.
Emily arrived at the classroom door, kicked the door open regardless of whether there was a class going on, and shouted, "Louis! Come out!" Her loud voice startled even the teacher who was lecturing, causing his reference books to fall to the ground.
Louis innocently walked out, with Anne following behind him as usual. Emily saw Anne behind Louis and thought, "She's quite pretty!" Fuming with anger, she was about to shout when Louis quickly stepped forward and covered her mouth with his hand, whispering, "Can we talk outside? Don't shout in the hallway; others will make fun of us!"
Emily's mouth was covered by Louis, fueling her anger even more, as she was convinced that the two of them must have a secret. She grabbed Louis's hand and bit it fiercely.
Louis winced in pain, tears nearly escaping his eyes. He quickly used his other hand to cover his mouth, afraid that he might make a sound. At this moment, Anne walked over, grabbed Emily's clothes, and forcefully pulled her away, leaving both Louis and Emily stunned by the sudden action.
