Chapter Twenty-Six

Luna couldn't believe her eyes, the man in front of her was the same human that was brought as a prisoner. 'How could this be?' She thought to herself. That's when Luna saw it, the Demon Eye. She didn't know any specific details about demon eyes but it's said that only Royalty are born with such power. 'How did a human prisoner get one of those? And more yet is walking through the Castle like it's nothing?!' Something was off about the whole situation but she played it cool since she didn't want to blow her chances of killing the Demon King. Seifer introduced himself first.

"Hey, you must be Arthur. I'm Seifer, the leader of this team. And this is Luna, our magic specialist. We're your new fighting partners." Extending his hand to the prisoner.

"Hi, I'm Arthur. I'm a swordsman. It's nice to meet you." Luna just kept fake smiling and nodding towards Arthur

"Hello, Arthur. We're glad to have you on our team. We've heard good things about you from the King and Queen." Seifer leads the conversation.

"Thank you. I'm looking forward to working with you." Seifer took him and led him by the shoulder

"Great. Then let's get started. We have a lot to learn from each other."

Luna, Arthur, and Seifer started walking toward where all the training equipment was located when Arthur suddenly asked Seifer to hand-to-hand combat spar. Luna was surprised by his straightforward nature but she knew he would get smashed into the ground by Seifer, Arthur just got out of prison and a torture chamber. There's no way he could beat Seifer who's been training since he was a baby.

The sun was high in the sky, casting a warm glow over the training ground. Arthur and Seifer stood facing each other, their stances relaxed but their eyes focused. This was a friendly match, but they were both competitive by nature.

"Ready when you are, Arthur," Seifer called out, his voice echoing slightly in the quiet of the training ground.

Arthur nodded, his eyes never leaving Seifer. "Alright." he said, and then he was gone.

Seifer blinked, looking around in surprise. "Flash step?" he muttered to himself, just as Arthur reappeared behind him.

"Match over." punching Seifer in the back he shot five meters forward, a look of surprise on his face.

"What the hell." Seifer said from afar. "You're certainly stronger than you look."

Arthur grinned, getting back into a fighting stance "Thanks, Seifer. Ready for round two?"

Seifer wasn't ready to admit defeat just yet. "Try your best!" he suggested a playful glint in his eye.

Arthur nodded. "I won't hold back then."

The two squared off again, their friendly rivalry adding an extra layer of excitement to the match. They traded blows, their movements a blur of speed and precision. Arthur used his flash step again, but this time Seifer was ready for him. He blocked Arthur's attack, countering with a swift kick that sent Arthur stumbling back.

"Nice one," Arthur said, grinning despite the hit. He quickly regained his footing, launching himself at Seifer with renewed vigor. The match continued, the two pushing each other to their limits. In the end, it was Arthur who emerged victorious, his flash step giving him the edge he needed to win. As the sun began to set, Arthur and Seifer sat down on the training ground, exhausted but satisfied. They had both learned a lot from the match, and they were already looking forward to their next sparring session.

'The large amount of power I was given through the eye made me fast enough to use flash step effectively. I've been trying to master going at high speeds but I never thought I would improve this fast.' Arthur thought. This was only the start of Arthur's new power. He still had yet to test out his 'Gift of Strength' and 'Eye of Ugallu' not even mentioning his Innate sword and 4th Gift which he can't use yet. Arthur saw Luna stare at him with a confused look on her face. 'What's her problem? I i guess ill just go ask her directly.'

"Hey, is there something funny looking about me? Why are you staring at me like that?" Arthur said with no emotion in his voice

"Oh uh, sorry I'll just tell you directly I guess. Weren't you the same prisoner those humans brought over here five months ago?"

"Yes, I was. What about it?"

"So I was wondering why you have a Demon Eye and how you have permission to walk around the castle freely. And why aren't you trying to get revenge on the Demon King for what he did to you?"

"I don't know why I was given a Demon Eye or how it even got in there. I have permission to walk around the castle freely because I'm now part of the special force for the Demon King. For your last question, I honestly don't know myself. All the hatred, sadness, love, and kindness I had for anyone faded after getting the Demon eye."

"That sounds pretty sad, Arthur"

"It does? Well, I wouldn't know what's good or bad anymore I guess."

"I see." She walked away as soon as she said that. Arthur stared at her back for a while before turning back to Seifer so that he could inform Arthur about the strategy that he and Luna had already gone over.
