We left the city and ventured into the wilderness. It was my first time outside the city, and I felt a mixture of excitement and danger. I knew this trip wouldn't be a walk in the park, so I prepared myself and stayed alert throughout the journey, keeping my hand on my sword's hilt. After walking for over ten hours, we finally set up camp, and I took the first watch. It was all so thrilling, and I felt like a kid experiencing something new. While keeping watch for any monsters or other creatures, I felt the urge to test my Night Splitter. I hadn't used it in a while, and I had improved significantly since then. Last time, I held it out for a minute before collapsing. How long would it be this time? Maybe ten minutes? Maybe even an hour if I pushed myself to the limit. I decided to try to hold it out for ten minutes instead of pushing to the absolute limit since I still had to keep watch for at least three hours.
I summoned a smooth black sword that seemed to absorb all the light. It was beautiful, but after seven minutes, I felt a strain inside me. I couldn't identify the energy source and after ten minutes, I was only at 50% of my limit. I released the sword back into my soul then. I wondered how using the Gift of Strength would affect the time I could keep the blade out. Three hours passed, and I woke up Michael for the next watch.
Suddenly, Scarlett screamed, saying she saw people approaching. There were three of them, so we could each take one in a fight. I was confident in my abilities, and Scarlett probably was as well, but I didn't know Michael's strength. When I asked him to reveal his Gifts, he refused, and I had no choice but to back down, even though it annoyed me. Scarlett probably knew all about his Gifts. Enough of that I have to focus on the new arrivals enemies or not I have not stayed on guard.
"Identify yourself and don't come any closer!" Scarlett was the one talking.
"I'm Legolas we don't want to fight!" He screamed back leaving out his last name on purpose if I had to make a guess. They seem to be of Elf descent
"What is your business here?'' Asked Scarlett
"We come from the land you people call the Elf Continent, we want guidance to the nearest city to resupply on food and water" He seemed genuine enough but something was off about him.

"Very well if you travel south from here you should hit the Capital" They didn't stop coming closer, which was a bit suspicious.
"Do you people have a map we could use to get there, we are not the best with directions" Still moving closer, I saw one swordsman and two mages very similar to our own company
"We do not and I suggest you stop moving closer or we will take action" I see so Scarlett also seemed to realize they were trying to come closer
"Oh come on we don't mean any harm" Still moving closer
"I do not care stop moving closer or we will atta-" Before she could finish her sentence they attacked. The two mages separating and going for Michael and Scarlett respectively. I faced the elf swordsman, Legolas, with my sword at the ready. I could feel the tension in the air as our eyes locked in a fierce stare-down.
I charged forward with a powerful thrust aimed directly at Legolas' chest. The elf deftly sidestepped the attack, but I followed up with a quick series of strikes that forced him back. I could feel the adrenaline pumping through my veins as we exchanged blows, my muscles straining with the effort.
As the battle raged on, I realized that I had the upper hand. My strength and skill were simply too much for Legolas to handle. With a sudden burst of energy, I launched a powerful strike that caught Legolas off guard, sending him stumbling backward.
Before Legolas could recover, I activated my skill 'Gift of Speed', my sword aimed directly at his heart. I shot at him like a bullet, Legolas had no time to launch a counterattack. Legolas tried to dodge, but it was too late. My sword pierced his chest, and he fell to the ground, his lifeblood spilling onto the grass.
I stood over Legolas' body. I had won the battle, but I felt no joy in my victory. I knew Legolas was just trying to survive but this is how it ends in this world of survival of the fittest. I was hoping that I would never have to face another opponent like Legolas again. I knew that I would carry the memory of this battle with me for the rest of my life. My first real battle. My first opponent to die by my sword.
I knew the battle wasn't over though as I saw the other two still fiercely fighting their opponents, I saw Scarlett had the upper hand so I went to help Michael. I knew I had to kill him before he saw me so I prepared to activate my 'Gift of Speed' again. Tensing my muscles I saw the image in my head and then... BOOM I shot like a rocket, leaving a crater where I was standing. I aimed for the elf's head and my sword cleaved straight through his neck cutting his head off cleanly. I turned back to make sure Scarlett was doing fine but by the time I looked back, she already killed the elf.
