Chapter Thirty-Five

His soldiers were chanting in front of him as they barged into the Elf Capital, fully confident that they would destroy this race just like the orcs. They were surprised when the elves attacked from both sides. The death and carnage began as Elf killed demons and vice versa, the Demon King was searching for the King of the Elves but couldn't find him anywhere near his army. 'Coward' The reputation of the Elf King was that he was a coward afraid of fighting anyone who might have a chance at beating him.

They were fighting against the Elves when all of a sudden they were attacked from behind. It was the Humans. The Demon King was now stuck between the combined forces of the Elves and Humans, he couldn't pull out of the fight now since he was deep in the enemy's territory. He sensed a familiar mana signature which made him smile. Arthur.

Arthur watched as the Demon Army marched into the Capital with nothing but the gates in their way when suddenly he heard commotion coming from inside, he guessed it was the Elves's forces that were hiding. Just as he planned to help them, he saw them. The Human forces. He sighed a breath of relief, the pressure of having to fight the army alone thrown out. He rushed over to them and informed them of the situation before they also went in behind the Demon Army and started attacking from the rear.

Arthur first met up with Luna, The King, and The First Knight to give everyone their roles to play. He told them who they should fight and whom he would fight. They all agreed so they were off to fight their own respective battles. Luna went for the Demon Queen, The King went for one general, and the First Knight for the other. Arthur prepared himself to face the Demon King. He felt the presence of the Demon King before he saw him in the distance. The Demon King was staring right at him with a face that wanted nothing more than his demise.

'I guess it's time to end this war' Arthur thought rather casually for the position he was in. He charged through the Demon Soldiers toward the Demon King summoning his Innate blade as he went. After a while of slicing through the soldiers, he and the Demon King were standing only twenty meters from each other.

"I see we can finally have our showdown!" The Demon King shouted at Arthur

"Yes, and of course you'll die by my hands," Arthur replied

"You've become quite the arrogant lad, Arthur. How about we stop stalling and start this quick bout?" The King suggested

"Fine by me" Arthur replied summoning his sword.

Arthur was the first to attack. He used his 'Gift of Strength, Passive effect' and 'Gift of Speed, Flash step.' to get right into Asmodeus's face and slashed upwards which Asmodeus dodged and countered with a punch to the side of his head. He had to block it with his free hand since his blade was still in its upward momentum. Asmodeus pressed his advantage following Arthur's dodge. He kicked out which was quickly sidestepped by Arthur, Asmodeus didn't relent and threw a few more punches before Arthur finally saw an opening. He tried slashing at Asmodeus's arm but missed it by a centimeter, which gave Asmodeus an opening to counter. He first tripped Arthur and then followed it with a punch straight into his back.

BOOM. Arthur created a crater as he was smashed into the ground. Asmodeus tried following it up with another kick toward his head but Arthur quickly rolled out of the way. He stood up simultaneously somersaulting away from Asmodeus to gain some distance.

"Running already? We only just started." Asmodeus teased

Arthur didn't answer but instead flash stepped behind him, Asmodeus expecting this already threw a punch behind him even before the Flash step which hit Arthur right in the chest. BLECH. The punch was so hard that it made Arthur puke blood from the impact.

"You're quite disappointing boy. I thought you killing Scarlett would make you a more worthy opponent but it seems you're just another obstacle in my way."

"I'm not done yet bastard," Arthur told him.

"Now that's the spirit!" Asmodeus encouraged

Arthur heard Asmodeus start chanting something but before he could stop him there was suddenly a dead body that started rising and attacking him, three more followed from each side. He struck at the first one and killed it before turning around and killing the one behind him, slicing its head clean off. The other two were already on him but before he could do the same to them Asmodeus appeared in front of him "Boo" he sent out a punch. Arthur blocked just in time to jump away from the Walking Dead because they were closing in from his side. He quickly dispatched them before Asmodeus could attack him again.

Arthur struck Asmodeus with all strength. Asmodeus blocked, but the blade cut through his forearm because it was used to block the strike. The forearm fell to the ground with a thumb, only leaving behind a stump. "Maybe I have to take you a bit more seriously eh?" Asmodeus said. The next words out of his mouth shocked Arthur to the core. "Copy" was all he said but suddenly a katana-like black sword appeared in his hand. It was Night Splitter, a replica of his sword. "It's quite a nice blade, now how about we fight a bit more fairly?"

Asmodeus went forward to strike, lunging forward with a swift thrust. Arthur parried with his blade, deflecting the attack and counterattacking with a slash. Asmodeus dodged to the side, barely avoiding the sharp edge.

They exchanged a series of blows, clashing steel against steel, sparks flying in the air. Arthur was faster and more agile, but Asmodeus was stronger and more experienced. They matched each other in skill and determination, neither one willing to give up.

Arthur saw an opportunity when Asmodeus stumbled on a loose stone. He swung his sword with all his might, aiming for his opponent's neck. Asmodeus reacted in time, raising his sword to block the strike. The impact was so powerful that it made a thunderclap sound as it connected, sending debris flying in all directions.
