Visdre was a bit confused. He wondered what exactly that item was. But now that it was gone. There was no way to study it.

The artificial soul had been cleansed. The foreign influence seemed to have disappeared. Visdre sighed and unlocked his energy field.

He now only had around 20,000 mental energy.

He opened up the settings of the soul he had created. The backstory he had wrote remained.

Name: Somnus

Born: In the first layer of the abyss.

Raised: In the spirit realm.

History: This entity studied the contracts and tricks of eldritch beings. Designing himself a body and domain. He came to find out that there was more to reality outside of his bubble of existence. He mastered the law of [distortion].

"Now I just have to create my own realm..."

"My focus allows me to perform supernatural feats by amplifying mental energy."

"Due to being a mortal. My energy field is stored within the universe. It is just in a separate layer."

Visdre could feel that if he didn't convert his mental energy into mystic energy. He wouldn't have enough room.

"What if I created a machine."

"Storing all of my mental energy in a physical structure."

"Then treating this structure like a server. Just like how I use my focus to amplify and perform more complicated feats. I will use this structure for more delicate operations."

Visdre went to a computer and pulled up a model program. He then started to design this machine.

"I will need a decent cover."

After a few days. Visdre had finished designing his 'mental energy server'.

During these days he had created a company by controlling multiple souls.

He started a company called 'Matter Council of Nuclear Research'.

On the surface. This was a company that researched nuclear power and particle collision. But in reality. This 'collider' wasn't for colliding particles. It was meant to amplify them, not particles, but mental energy.

There were a few major problems at first.

The first was construction time. It would take years to build his machine. To put things into perspective. It was designed like a hallow doughnut. It was a looping tunnel that looked like a giant ring.

The reason it took so long to build was because it was built underground and went on for 10 kilometers. The resources used were immense. It was projected to cost over a billion dollars.

Visdre spent hours looking through his souls for someone with a net worth of billions. But he only found millionaires.

"It seems the elites of this world have rejected my game world."

"But I still have people in office under my influence."

Visdre soon got the idea that his project could 'uncover the secrets of the universe.' The government decided to help fund a 'hadron collider'.

Visdre decided that the best way to hide something was to hide it in plain sight. So the machine he built served many purposes.

1.) It was a mental energy storage device.

2.) It was a mental energy server and processor.

3.) It was a hadron collider.

During the construction. Visdre was very hands on. People thought he was a construction worker as he helped others work.

But in reality. He was constantly using beacons to carve microscopic runes into the walls of the tunnel that was the collider.

3 years later...

The collider had now formed a closed loop. The scientist were excited to collide particles. Visdre had no interest in such experiments.

By making the structure useful for research. Visdre basically guaranteed that people would perform maintenance on it.

Visdre had long left this project after it was finished. He was currently in the yard of his mansion.

He had his energy field locked. He felt like a normal person without it.

"The frequency..."

He was trying to 'connect' to his mental energy server.

"I need the ability to control mental energy remotely. Otherwise, this isn't going to work. Since I am too far from the structure. I can't feel it at all."

He had already stored 100,000 mental energy inside of his mental energy server.

This was more then he had in his energy field. His energy field now had 51,400.

Visdre was at a loss at what to do to get this to work. He then had an idea.

"Souls feed mental energy into my energy field. This feeds back into reality with my body as the channel."

"All I have to do is trick this mechanism."

Visdre had read further into the technique.

Step 23: Forbidden Technique

"The technique 'Nascent Ascent'. It is based on two concepts. A public and private energy field."

"I'll make my current energy field my private energy field. Then I'll make that machine my public energy field."

Visdre unlocked his energy field.

Visdre started to fly by reversing his magnetic field. Soon he arrived at the headquarters of his company.

He took an elevator down to the proper level. It was about 200 meters underground.

The workers ignored him as if he didn't exist.

He directly walked towards the wall and folded space. Teleporting about a meter into the collider.

"The energy field is stored in the global existence. I don't have one. I am more like a quasi-hidden existence."

"Now I must do something dangerous!"

Visdre started to float as he focused on his souls. More importantly he focused on the connection between them and the energy itself.

He held out his hand and felt as if his body was getting torn to shreds.

In one second he had lost 25,000 mental energy.

Now he had a silver thread in his hand. He felt quite dizzy. But he wasn't finished yet. The thread wrapped around his body like a snake as he stopped floating. He slammed his foot on the ground. The thread started to expand as it stretched to cover the entire 10 kilometer loop.

It then sunk into the walls and Visdre felt a connection.

Visdre locked his private energy field. He then teleported outside of the collider. He left the headquarters and flew back home.

He left a sonic boom this time.

"Everything has been enhanced!"

Not only could he fly faster. He was able to teleport further without as much energy loss. It was as if he had become the client and the focus had become the server.

Although it had taken three years. He felt it was worth it.

That wasn't all however.

He could feel the souls distributing energy into both his public and private consciousness. He directly adjusted the ratio and stopped supplying his private energy field.

He had a direct connection with his server.

He planned to leave his private energy field locked for emergency use.

10 years later...

[ECHO]: MES: 788,400

Visdre had slowly created his 'key'. Some of the functions of 'ECHO' had gone online as well. He now had his visualization technique again.

His mental energy had stopped growing. This wasn't due to it reaching max capacity. It was because he developed a technique that spent it at the same rate he gained it.

This technique he called 'God Mind'.

Basically. He used the concept of consciousness being generated from physical energy. He used his energy at the rate he gained it. He used it to enhance his consciousness.

He was now a being that surpassed 'genius'.

His intellect had become monstrous.

His consciousness burned through massive amounts of mental energy. That wasn't all.

He would lower his IQ temporarily to perform supernatural feats. So as to not use up his stored mental energy. This meant the more power he used. The dumber he would become. But this was just a temporary debuff.

He constantly had liquid mental energy covering his body making him nearly invulnerable.

"I am essentially banned from nonexistence..."

Visdre looked at his massive amounts of mental energy.
