Soon the guards arrived. Visdre was surrounded.
He tried to transform into a bat and fly away. But a holy net casted by the priest trapped him. It didn't help that it was also daytime. His health was rapidly decreasing under the bombardment of these powerful NPCs. They were not playing around.
In terms of strength. He was on par with these NPCs that had been training for decades. But, being unable to escape. He was eventually killed.
[System]: You have died!
[System]: You may respawn in 8 hours!
[System]: Disconnect? Y/N?
"Yes."
Visdre opened his eyes.
He was still in containment.
"The game world is progressing smoothly. But I think it is time to really get started with God's Death."
Visdre's memories of the technique were blurry. In combination with the constant stream of information flowing into his brain from 'The Celestial Cemetery'.
He also was absorbing the thoughts and memories of the people playing the game. Based on how the system worked. He needed to be able to through instinct feel the actions of their thoughts to translate it into skills and abilities in the game.
But despite this. He hadn't truly done anything supernatural. Besides two key points. Information transfer and consciousness control.
Visdre had figured out the trick behind the technique. He knew that the brain transformed physical energy into mental energy. This was the manifestation of consciousness.
Mortals had imagination. But hidden existences had energy fields.
The stress and calculations of the game world were shared across the soul fragments of every 'player'.
Otherwise. Visdre might've been assimilated by the consciousness of the NPCs and players. Visdre had a few plans. He wanted to trigger one of the world events and massively expand the game world. He wanted not hundreds. But hundreds of thousands to millions of souls!
The government however was on his trail.
Multiversal Ascension
His account and video were taken offline. However. He never left any traces to the book 'Path of Somnus: God's Death'.
But the site that hosted his 'multiversal sutra' was undergoing investigation by the higher-ups of the country.
Humanity didn't know what the purpose of this 'game' was. But they felt that they needed to control it. However, despite their efforts. Invitations were still being spread around.
Visdre was questioned by doctors about his experiences in the game. He reported his death and his actions were documented.
He then went to bed.
[System]: You may respawn!
[System]: Connect? Y/N?
"Yes."
Visdre saw a flash of light as he appeared at the altar in the temple. The priest in an instant cast magic on him as he called for the guards.
He was trapped in the temple. His level had also been reset back to zero due to the death.

As he was getting attacked. He used the ring of 'Ooo' that was soulbound.
In an instant he teleported to Ooo.
He was greeted by a glowing skull.
"You seem to have transformed into an undead creature. Excellent!"
"That old curse seems to have benefited you..."
Visdre was confused.
"Curse?"
"Don't worry about it. Let us get to work! Did you bring the goods?"
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
"No..."
Weeks passed in reality as Visdre carried out the rituals and task of this 'quest'. Visdre went on a journey across dimensions. He made friends with nymphs and pixies in the fairly lands. He gathered elemental essences from various elementals.
Visdre avoided the towns.
He then performed a rather evil ritual and opened up the world to the nightmare dimension.
This ritual required sacrificing himself and his source.
All sorts of distortion completely changed the world. Weird creatures of chaos appeared seemingly out of nowhere. The type seen only in the nightmares of others.
This was the first major expansion of this 'game'.
[System]: Your source has been destroyed.
The source was like the soul of a player. Although it was a simulated existence. It wasn't the actual soul. Now that he had sacrificed his source. He was kicked from the game.
Visdre felt something very weird happening to him. Although the game was mere fiction and just a simulation that used the processing power of others.
When he was doing the final ritual. It felt as if something had snapped within him. He wasn't sure what. But something wasn't right!
Now that he lacked a source. It was as if his limiter was removed. He had direct administrator access.
It was through this perspective that he developed a technique. He called it 'hivemind'.
This wasn't as simple as splitting soul. It was turning his consciousness directly into threads. He could then perform multiple task at once.
This allowed Visdre to see the perspective of every 'player' and 'npc' at the same time. He may not have a 'source' to be a player himself. But instead of it being like him getting banned from the game. It was as if he had become god of the game world.
A simple thought could completely warp the rules of his game world. Far more easily then ever before. At first, Visdre thought this had something to do with losing source. But then he theorized it might be due to the accumulation of mental power.
3 months later...
Visdre noticed some weird changes to his body in reality.
1.) He no longer required sleep.
Visdre had developed a true independent consciousness at this point. It was a thinking program he had designed for himself over the last few months. He had nothing but time while in containment. But that wasn't all.
2.) He could 'leave' his body directly.
In the past. Visdre had tried to leave his body mentally. He had succeeded slightly. But his current universe had a very specific law. Null Spirituality.
The spirit body couldn't ever appear in reality. So how did he do this? He warped his perception. This was a feature he had developed by managing the rules of his independent consciousness. It wasn't his spirit body leaving his physical body. Instead it was a form of a spiritual beacon he had developed.
This was like somebody using a camera tied to a rope to explore a hole they themselves couldn't fit into.
Visdre could now send a quasi-spiritual body out of his physical body. This was a body that could pass through physical matter. But the hidden rules of the universe would destroy it quite quickly. So it could only last for a few seconds. But he could have multiple of these beacons, and he could shoot them into the bodies of others.
Doing this could temporarily take control of a person.
3.) He didn't need to eat.
Not only did he design a independent consciousness. But he figured out how to trace his energy field clearly. He was constantly accumulating mental energy from the soul of each player. Not only could he use this energy for mental constructs. His physiology was transformed. He could directly nourish his cells and organs by transforming mental energy into physical energy and matter.
4.) Enhanced senses.
His 'hivemind' technique allowed him to tap into multiple perspectives. The beacons he developed to explore outside of his body could feed information directly into his consciousness. They would dissipate as long as they were outside his body. But he could launch multiple and manage them by using threads of consciousness.
5.) Time dilation.
By manipulating mental energy. He could overclock his brain and release stress chemicals into his body in mass. Through this, he could directly jump his nervous system. Making time seem to slow down from his perspective.
Visdre wasn't the only one that noticed these changes. His doctors regularly did test on him and found that his blood and urine samples had unsafe levels of random metals and chemicals.
He was in containment for being exposed to the 'game world'. So they were already monitoring him 24/7. They noticed that he stopped eating. That he wasn't sleeping and that his personality was becoming a bit weird.
But he didn't seem to be manic or losing weight.
Visdre would still occasionally drink water. But even that became a rarity. By this logic. He should've died after some time with this behavior.
Visdre spent all his time meditating. He still hadn't reconstructed the 'key' yet. Nor had he developed his source castle or spirit body. He wanted perfection.
"It is time to leave..."
Visdre needed stability at first and this place provided it. But now... he had many thousands of souls constantly providing him with mental energy. Staying here would stall his progress. He had so many things he wanted to try and experiment with. He needed privacy.
The fact that he had come so far in body modification despite the hidden rules of this universe. He was excited to experiment.
The government had hidden everything about Visdre. They had dug into his background and found that he was initially rather normal.
But the world would explode at the 'miracle' of his condition. Some scientist that were ordered to work on him were quite jealous. It wasn't simply his personality that changed. His body was transforming.
But he also seemed playful these last few days he was in containment.
----------------------------------------
Visdre knew about the security surrounding him. But he wasn't too worried about his escape. He directly sent a beacon out of his body and had it phase through a wall.
From this beacon. He directly jumped into the body of a doctor. He then had them come to his cell and scan their card on the door. His door opened and he walked out.
Those in the security room saw this and soon he was surrounded by guards. He didn't bother to fight them.
They had tasers equipped.
"Put your hands in the ai-"
Almost every single guard went into a daze. Visdre had sent out 10 beacons at the same time and taken over their bodies briefly. They all collapsed to the ground.
One of them had a trigger finger unfortunately. They shot the taser at Visdre. Time seemed to slow down as Visdre turned his body, avoiding the probe.
He turned his head and the guard dropped to the ground.
Visdre manually broke the camera in this hallway. He then stripped the security guard of their clothes and put them on.
While he did this. He was at the same time having a supervisor smash the server room of the building.
He dragged the security guard into his cell.
Visdre was trying something new in his 'escape'. He pulled out his taser and held it in his hand as he 'looked' for the escapee. He pretended to be a guard as more of them arrived.
As they opened the door. He slipped out.
He was constantly sending out beacons in all directions, giving him 360 degree vision. They dissipated quite quickly. But the mental energy cost weren't too high.
He put his taser away as he lost control of the doctor that had opened his room door.
"Hmm... only a few minutes."
There were still a few layers until freedom. But he had reached an area reserved for staff. He pulled the fire alarm and exited the building with the employees.
He was now free.
"This should to be interesting..."
