Chapter 2: Confidence

Chapter 2: Confidence

Visdre followed the first step for a week and then excitedly opened up the next chapter. The previous guilt was washed away as if it never existed in the first place.

Step 2: Increase Complexity

He learned from this chapter that 'A1-B' meant three different things. 'A' was the column. While '1' was the row. 'B' was the color.

He then followed the instructions and added a new square to the right side of the previous one.

"I will name you 'B1-W'!"

In his sea of consciousness. There was two different squares. One black and one white.

Visdre noticed that the technique warned of rushing through the steps and he decided to not do so.

He was glad he waited a week to continue reading.

If he had read ahead. He probably wouldn't be able to stop himself and he would end up reading it all at once.

Who knows what sort of problems that could create?

Visdre spent a week reinforcing this image in his sea of consciousness. He then continued the chapter.

Adding 'C1-B' and 'D1-W'.

Once again another week was spent meditating on this

He especially dazed off during work to visualize this image.

He doubled the complexity to eight:

'A1-B','B1-W','C1-B','D1-W','E1-B','F1-W','G1-B','H1-W'

"It says something about a password..."

A1bB1wC1bD1wE1bF1wG1bH1w

Visdre was able to form the password from scratch due to it being a pattern. But he wasn't fast and couldn't remember it from scratch without using logic.

So he opened up a text document on his computer and spent his free time typing the password until it became like instinct.

He also made sure to periodically visualize the squares together in his sea of consciousness.

He then clicked the next chapter...

Step 3: Passwords

Visdre struggled with this step as it was a true double of complexity.

But in his mind, he did assign a new value to the passwords:

2=A2wB2bC2wD2bE2wF2bG2wH2b

1=A1bB1wC1bD1wE1bF1wG1bH1w

Visdre repeated his process with '2'. He typed it repeatedly into a text document until he had memorized it. He also associated it with another row of the board he was constructing.

He then went to the next chapter a month later.

Step 4: Complete the Board

Visdre was overwhelmed with this step, as it was a lot more information than the previous steps. But he paced himself and completed this step within half a year to his satisfaction.

8=A8wB8bC8wD8bE8wF8bG8wH8b

7=A7bB7wC7bD7wE7bF7wG7bH7w

6=A6wB6bC6wD6bE6wF6bG6wH6b

5=A5bB5wC5bD5wE5bF5wG5bH5w

4=A4wB4bC4wD4bE4wF4bG4wH4b

3=A3bB3wC3bD3wE3bF3wG3bH3w

2=A2wB2bC2wD2bE2wF2bG2wH2b

1=A1bB1wC1bD1wE1bF1wG1bH1w

Visdre noticed something different about himself. He used to have memory problems and was bad at keeping track of task during his job.

But after working on this technique for months...

There was a change.

His thinking no longer felt dull.

He processed things faster.

Before, if he was below average IQ.

Perhaps now... it had become average!

"How did this technique improve my mind?"

Visdre felt this was too mystical. But he wasn't going to complain.

Visdre had been the source of jokes at his job, but his coworkers noticed a change in his temperment. There was a feeling of 'confidence' that hadn't existed before.

Visdre also wasn't idle in his sleep.

During dreams, he would try to read the mysterious book. He would also sit down in the white room and meditate on the squares.

The text was readable and matched what he had already read.

The door didn't seem to have any changes unfortunately.
