He wasn’t like other humans but the Chief still maintained his wariness. He had to because he was the Chief and humans were vicious monsters!
Following not far behind the Chief were a few of the Grand Elders and their grandchildren that clung to their legs as they walked in. The Grand Elders were around the same age as the Chief but they were of different races and tribes.
One of the Grand Elders was a Pterosaur Demi-Human with large skin like wings that reached towards the ground as they were folded in. Another had wings that dragged along the ground; they were similar to the Haast Eagles. There was also a Grand Elder with a weird red comb and wattle on its head. He had white feathers and short wings. He closely resembled that of a rooster!
Each Grand Elder was a high ranking powerful member of their tribe above the Chief. Despite their differences in appearance and personalities, they all had one thing in common. They were all winged Demi-Humans.
The Hidden Sky Village was a village for flying Demi-Humans, a paradise for winged creatures.
The village itself was quite large and had a structure similar to a government. Each race had a Chief and they served on the council. Above the council were the Grand Elders. They didn’t focus on the mundane matters but they were the most powerful among their tribes. They would only step in to make decisions that would greatly affect all the tribes of Hidden Sky like this.
That is why more than 60% of the Grand Elders made an appearance. The rest of the Grand Elders were currently on their deathbeds otherwise they would be here too.
Above the Grand Elders was the Head Chief. The Head Chief was elected by the Grand Elders from among the Grand Elders to serve as a figurehead. This figurehead just so happened to be Sora’s father Chief Xiyi.
Chief Xiyi had faith in his son. Sora was usually a good judge of character and Lucifer had a big wide smile on his face that was impossible to hide. This gave the village Chief and some of the Grand Elders favorable impression. But the reason Lucifer was smiling so strongly was because he was looking at the credit numbers on his ID card.. It wasn’t as satisfying as counting hundred dollar bills but the numbers spoke for themselves. Ever since a young child he had always had a strong love for money.
Chief Xiyi paced back and forth, “Good…That’s good to hear. I am but a humble Chief of the Sky Serpent Tribe. I don’t want to beat around the bush so I will just say it. Will you please provide us with the medical knowledge to cure cancer? Of course we will provide you with the appropriate compensation in return for the knowledge you provide us.”

Lucifer sat down and contemplated the words the Chief had said to him, “Cure cancer?”
Lucifer shook his head, “I don’t know how to cure cancer.”
“Please, I beg of you.”
Chief Xiyi got on the ground and begged fervently with tears welling up in his eyes. The Grand Elders also took a knee and began to ask emotionally.
“We can pay you, any price you demand and we will pay it. Please provide us with the knowledge to save our people!”
At this moment Lucifer noticed that each of the Grand Elders held a handkerchief in their hands that were stained with blood. As he looked around he noticed that even some of their grandchildren had such blood stained handkerchiefs gripped in their hands as they walked past the Doctors hut.
“Cancer? Is that the result of cancer?”
Chief Xiyi followed Lucifer’s gaze and nodded in silence.
“Indeed, cancer is incredibly prevalent amongst us Demi-Humans. Although I look old I am only 35 years old as are the other Grand Elders. We are all nearing the end of our lives because this sickness has taken ahold of us.”
The Chiefs eyes twinkled as a salted tear ran down his face.
“No one is spared from this curse, not even the young children. Some don’t even make it past 10 years of age. And you would be lucky to live as long as we have.”
“So please, we beg of you. Return hope to our people.”
Lucifer didn’t know what to say, he didn’t even know if there was a cure for cancer and even if there was. He surely didn’t know it. He had never studied medicine before let alone something as complex and as damaging as cancer.
In his timeline there had billions upon billions of dollars thrown into cancer research. They had found cures for some strains of cancer but the types of cancer seemed to grow faster than they could find cures. So in 100 years of researching there had never been a complete cure for cancer.
“I’m sorry, I honestly don’t know. But perhaps I can ask someone that does know.”
The Grand Elders and the Chiefs eyes changed from sadness to expectation as they listened to Lucifer gather his thoughts and reply.
“So you are saying there is a chance?”
Lucifer nodded his head, “There is a chance but I can’t guarantee it. But I promise to return here once I return to school and obtain the cure if it exists.”
They grew excited as they rushed towards him, “Let’s carry you back now and find out ASAP.”
“Halt! Leave my patient alone.”
Dr. Green madly rushed forward, blocking the Grand Elders and the Chief.
“He needs 3 weeks to recover, until then he isn’t going anywhere. Besides, did you forget that Demi-Humans aren’t allowed within close proximately to Enochian Academia and he currently can’t move? So how were you planning to get him there?”
“Ahh….” They released a simultaneous gasp; they were overwhelmed with excitement that they forgot something so basic.
“3 weeks and he can leave. Until then no one is to touch him. That goes for you too Lucifer. You won’t be moving an inch until you are fully healed. These are Dr. Greens strict orders.”
