“Ah…So he didn’t give you a last name because he didn’t want to offend the Gods?”
Ambrosia nodded her head in response.
“Um, alright then.” It was obvious to her that Maria didn’t believe her story. It was just too farfetched in a modern society such as this so she quickly shrugged it off and changed the subject.
Ambrosia truly believed the story that her Grandfather had told her. As she retold the story her eyes were filled with light and confidence, even Aruna and Lucif didn’t believe the story.
More than likely Jericho told her this story to make her feel special, like she was some gift from the Heavens or something. He would tell her that she was destined for greatness and that she would ascend to the Heavens one day. It was a beautiful sentiment in a world such as this. In truth, it wasn’t a bad parenting method, it would inspire her confidence and allow her to grow magnificently.
Maria used her admin access code and entered the information then overwrote the system defaults. After 5 minutes of continuous tapping it was complete. Most ticket purchases only took a few seconds so the crowds of people behind were getting frustrated.
Finally, it loaded and then automatically scanned for their background information but no data was found on the trio.
“What planet, moon, star, asteroid, space station or colony are you from?” She looked up and down at the young teens in front of her. They were adorned with exquisite clothes, they appeared to be quite expensive and the girls were wearing jewelry. Only some well off bosses could afford to adorn their children in such fine jewelry so they weren’t poor.
But why is their information profile not appearing? Everyone has an information profile, because everyone has to register to pay taxes. A lot of young nobles who have yet to take over their parents business didn’t have their profiles registered but that didn’t mean they didn’t have ID cards as proof of status.
The two girls looked confused and looked to Lucifer for an answer. The girls had never ventured off the planet and they weren’t taught much about their own planet either. The stories they were told were of a planet before the war but a lot had happened since then. They didn’t even know the name of this planet. Their knowledge was very limited when it came to subjects such as this.
“Um, we are from this planet. We were raised here, the planet we are standing on right now.” He beat around the bush, he didn’t know the name of the planet either but he was sure this would answer the question.
The lady burrowed her eyebrows as she looked at them and said, “So you are natives of planet Almega? What do your parents do?”
“They are both beneath the earth.”
Maria slapped her face and frowned, “I can’t process your applications without any background information or identification. What if you are terrorist? Hai….I’d get in serious trouble if you killed someone illegally.”
Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
“I.D? Um, can I use this I.D?” Ambrosia pulled out her work I.D from her old factory but Maria shook her head. “Anyone can get those sorts of identifications without proof.”
The three were stumped and didn’t know what to do. Maria looked over at their innocent and attractive faces and couldn’t help but feel sympathetic to their cause.
“Hai….Alright, I guess I can issue you some tickets regardless. But you have to promise me you will behave otherwise my head will be on the chopping block, quite literally.”
They nodded their heads with enthusiasm. “Yes, yes, we promise, we promise.”
Punch, Punch, Punch.. The three tickets were punched with three holes and passed over to the three. “That will be $123,000 please.”
Lucifs mouth dropped along with the others. “W..what do you mean? Isn’t that price a bit outrageous?”
“Hai….Kids, I’m already going out on a limb for you here. Didn’t you know about the price?”
“I’m sorry miss. We didn’t know it was so expensive. We only have enough for our tuition. Our boss told us the tickets were only $1000 each.”
The lady opened her mouth in realization and waved her hands, “Ah, you misunderstand. We also manage the school fees here, its $40,000 a year per person and $1000 each for the skybus tickets.”
Then she pointed to a sign next to her booth that they didn’t bother to read. On it, it said:
Skybus Tickets
Fines and Taxes
Skycraft hire services
Colony Travel Tickets
Item Deliveries and Transport
Enochian Academia Tuition Fees
Once they realized, Lucif quickly pulled out his work payment card to pay the fees and skybus tickets. But contrary to his expectations, Maria was once again looking at him weirdly.
“Damn kid, you never told me you had a Silver embassy card. Were you just wasting my time? Tsk..”
“A silver what?”
Maria looked like she had seen a ghost, “You carry something as important as this around yet don’t even know what it is? Silver embassy cards give you a wide range of benefits, you can access areas that only mid ranking nobles can access, you can use public services such as the ISTC for free and it also acts as a high class identification card. You can use them for a wide range of things that people could only dream of. They are so rare that only one in one million families have these, but you don’t even know what it is?”
Lucif shook his head, “We all have these cards, are you sure they are the same cards you are talking about?”
Aruna and Ambrosia also withdrew their cards and gave them to Maria. She trembled before she quickly swiped their cards into the machine, anxious to find if these cards were the real deal. Ding, Ding, Ding.
All three cards were legitimate and the profiles for each of them appeared along with their pictures.
Lucifer Akira, Aruna Akira, Ambrosia…
“Ah, like you said. Your name is registered as only Ambrosia. So it turns out that all three of these cards are legitimate. The reason your profiles never came up was due to this card, once you have one of these all your private information is hidden from the system and no one can access that information without your consent. But with these silver embassy cards you can board the skybus for free.”
Ambrosia and Aruna were pleasantly surprised but not as much as Lucifer. ‘I’m going to save $3,000. Haha, yes. I’m going to save some money.’ He was almost jumping for joy and had to physically restrain himself. Usually he wouldn’t react this way but he was near broke so any savings was basically a blessing.
“Alright, here are your free tickets. Ahm, I mean three tickets. I’ll give you my number so you can get into contact with me. If you ever need help with anything else in the future don’t be afraid to call. A couple of country bumpkins like you will probably get into trouble more often than not. So keep it close.”
Maria waved them off with a warm smile as they made their way to the waiting area where they saw Luar the elven girl. She had quite a happy expression on her face and was feeling quite relieved after she got her ticket.
