Chapter 53 - I need a new job

Chapter 53 - I need a new job

Lucif took the VR helmet off his head. He wasn’t too sure what to make of the matter. He had a lot of dislikes about the game but it was also very thrilling at the same time. This was living in the future!

He lay down on his bed and quickly went to sleep. At the same time, Aruna, Ambrosia and Luar waddled out of the restaurant.

Hiccup, “Tha..that was fun, hiccup.”

“He, he… 5% vodka, powerful stuff.” Luar held onto Aruna’s shoulder. She was slightly older so she had to maintain the most dignity. But in reality she was already borderline drunk. Over the years the alcohol content had been lessened by a great degree due to laws and regulations. All alcohol was strictly monitored. 5% was already the strongest alcohol you could buy but that didn't mean people didn't get drunk off of it.

A giant bird cawed and descended from the sky, it was similar to a Haast eagle but with a larger wing span measuring at least 12 meters in length. It’s wings created a gust that blasted the surrounding dust and leaves out of the way. It's shadow eclipsed the ground as it landed.

It slowly made its descent and landed in front of the three girls. “Are you the ones that called?”

“Hiccup, ye..hh..yes please.”

As he looked down and saw their bodies wavering side to side he said to himself, ‘Oh dear, they are drunk aren’t they. Why do I always get the drunken ones? Tsk, it's just my luck.’

“T..thank you very much.”

The trio climbed the small ladder that he threw down and they sat upon the saddle on the back of the eagle. The saddle was similar to a carriage without a top. It had one seat in the front for the driver and six at the back. It was shaped in a semi circle and it was made of leather.

“Wooh, its feathers are so pretty.”

“Buurrhh!” The eagle started to squawk at her words and flap its wings in discontent.

“Calm down John, it’s alright. They didn’t mean any offense by it.”

The man turned around and started to speak to them. He was wearing a brown leather jacket and a black beret. He had beautiful green eyes and tan brown skin. His perfect white teeth shined in the moonlight as he began to speak.

“Ladies, ladies, this giant haast eagle is a male and he is very particular about how he is complimented.”

Gulp, the three began to pant silently. He was an incredibly beautiful human being. From his tight fitting clothes and well-proportioned muscles to his unique sense of style and thick deep voice, they couldn’t help but take a breath of air in wonder. If you were to take Lucifer and put him in a group of good looking males, he would stand out fragrantly. His good looks were many times above his peers.

But if you were to take a bunch of males with the same good features as Lucif and throw them into a group with this guy, the situation would be reversed. This man was simply too attractive, he had a chiselled jaw and was perfectly groomed. His skin shimmered in the moonlight and made him look godly. Even his attitude and aura resembled that of a perfectly sculpted statue of a grecian god.

His every move and manerism was like a performance, he moved with elegance and class. He had a maturity in his looks that left Lucif in the dust. They three ladies were flabbergasted.

He scratched his head at their reactions, he often got these sorts of stares before and he knew it was because of his looks. This was also why he hated flying around drunken customers. They were usually more confident and would attempt to sexually harass him on occasion or try to get close to him but he couldn't deal with it. He would be a social recluse if he didn't have to work for a living.

There was an awkward silence that permeated the air for a moment, and then finally Luar softly spoke. “Its feathers are so manly?”

“Raaah!” A happy expression appeared on John the Eagles face as he flapped his wings and flew into the air.

“John, calm down. You are lifting off too fast!”

“Raaah!” John ignored his commands and flew into the air. They all felt a sense of vertigo as they flew higher and higher. This was a lot different than flying on a skyboard because it was real flight without the wind resistance barrier. The wind battered against their faces as their speed increased by tenfold.

John was happy and he wanted to show off. Aruna was similarly pleased with the experience while Ambrosia and Luar held on for dear life. Aruna let go of the saddles and stood up, the wind battered against her face as a beautiful feeling overwhelmed her.

“This is wonderful.”

The handsome young man turned around and saw her standing up, “No, don’t!”

But his words fell on deaf ears because one moment she was there and the next she was gone. It was similar to a magician throwing a sheet over themself while yelling ‘Now you see me, now you don’t’ and then disappearing before everyone’s eyes.

Aruna felt herself spinning through the air as she hurtled towards the ground. But despite her impending doom she didn’t feel any fear, she couldn’t explain why but she felt completely safe. She didn’t know if it was the effects of the alcohol or something else.

The green eyed driver ripped off his brown leather jacket and jumped off the eagle.

“W..what!” Ambrosia and Luar held on even tighter now. Aruna had flown off the back and now their driver had just jumped off and committed suicide. That means no one was controlling the eagle. The fear started to take hold as they screamed. But their screams were pushed away by the wind and faded into the distance.

“I got you!”

Aruna felt two arms grab her falling body as she was hoisted up into the sky. As she opened her eyes she saw the good looking driver holding her. His strong arms wrapped around her back and legs as he flew into the sky. Behind him were six large golden wings, flapping in the moonlight as he flew back towards John.

The spinning had upset the alcohol in Aruna’s stomach causing it to come surging forth all at once. “Bleh…” It quickly left her mouth and splattered all across the driver and herself. Even though she was quite beautiful, her beauty was nonexistent in his eyes. All he saw was an irresponsible drunk retard.

He didn’t say anything else, his lips were clenched and his eyebrows furrowed but he said nothing. Aruna was curled into a ball as she fell asleep in his arms holding onto his chest.

“John, slow down now!” His voice echoed and crackled like thunder as he commanded John to slow down. John’s excited expression quickly turned sour as he looked back at the puke covered man.

Gulp…It knew it had stuffed up this time.

Ambrosia and Luar felt the wind lessen significantly as they opened their eyes and saw him flying down from the sky. He slowly glided back into his seat while holding Aruna in his arms.

“E..Exceed.” Luar almost swallowed her tongue as she said this. The surprise evident on her face, this was the first time she had seen an Exceed in person. They were one of the great races but they were nearly driven to extinction during the Millennial War.

The rest of the trip was quite and stifling, no one spoke a word and he didn’t take payment from them either. He quickly dropped them off at Luars residence and then fled in the opposite direction.

John flew through the air as it made a dash into the distance, “This is why I hate drunks. I need a new job, I’m sick of this.”
