Chapter 50 - Double S class, Triple S rank student

He looked through the cupboards but all the food had spoiled, then at the back he saw a big white bag. In fact there were multiple big white bags.

“Ah, rice? But rice goes off too. Sigh…” He pulled it down anyway and inspected the cover. On the front it said ‘Air tight, nitrogen packed 20kg rice bag.’

“Well it doesn’t look like it spoiled and I am quite hungry. Let’s give it a try.”

He grabbed the rice, put it in a pot with some water and sprinkled it with salt as it came to a boil. “This salt looks quite good too, it doesn't look spoiled. Along with the honey, maple syrup, sugar, soy sauce, powdered milk and hard liquor. They all seem fine. Hard liquor? As I recall, hard liquor was banned the better half of a few centuries ago. Gumdigger Rum? That sounds interesting.”

He took out a little shot glass and filled it up while he waited for the rice to cook.

Shoot

It shot down his throat as a burning sensation spread through his throat followed by a feeling of drunkenness which encompassed his whole body.

“Now that is one manly drink, a single shot and I can barely stand. What else could I expect from a bottle aged 1,000 years! It doesn’t disappoint. Gumdigger rum, sweet to the taste and packs a punch. I’ve tasted many fine alcohols in my time but none as spectacular as this.”

He kicked his feet back and waited for the rice to cook. He was very unsteady and found it hard to keep his balance as he waddled over. First he drained the water and then he began to eat the rice.

“Surprisingly, it is pretty good.” He licked his bowl clean and helped himself to another bowl before heading back to the computer room. The skeleton head was now on the ground, rolling around and trying to bump the gag in it's mouth away but his struggle was futile.

Lucif sat on the chair with a satisfied belly. He was ready to call it a night so he clicked on the button that said “Rest Area.” The building rotated once again and in front of him appeared a large hall way with thousands of doors. He walked to the first door and opened it up, inside was a large king sized bed with a toilet, a shower, a bath, a few draws, a cupboard, a walk in closet and a TV.

“Are all the rooms like this? Awesome.” He quickly jumped into his bed and made himself comfortable.

“Let’s see what’s on T.V” He picked up the remote and flicked it on but he was greeted by the message. ‘Please connect to the Wi-Fi before accessing the television network.’

The time was 8.25 pm, it had been quite a busy day for the trio Aruna, Ambrosia and Luar. They sat around at a restaurant called ‘Escargots de Bourgogne’ eating giant cooked snails. Unlike conventional eating places, all the food here was hand prepared.

“It’s almost 8.30, where is he?”

Aruna thought for a minute and then began to speak, “He probably forgot, brother is strong and he doesn’t go looking for trouble so I don’t think he would be in a disadvantageous situation. He worked hard to pay for our tuition fees. I think we should forgive him for missing our meeting.”

“Aruna, you are too soft. He is your brother, brothers are supposed to spoil their sisters!” Luar proclaimed boldly. Ambrosia chuckled because Luar was definitely the most soft hearted one out of them.

Aruna nodded her head, “Yeah, you are right. It should be expected! The next time he makes a lot of money, I won’t be so stingy. Hehe, I did help support him for 13 years of his life. Now that he has matured, it is only right for him to spoil his big sister now.”

In another location in the tallest tower of Enochian Academia sat two people. They were seated in a refined manner, just two people drinking tea and chatting with one another.

“So did you see anyone of interest today little Vice Principal?”

“Mmm, there were 2 double S rank mortal human female students. I watched their test and found their methods quite amusing. There was also a mortal human male with an SS,SS,SS ranking.”

“He is a mortal double S class triple S rank student?” Her eyes lit up when she heard this, “It seems my school has accepted another top tier genius into its ranks.”

“Yes, that’s right big sis. But I assigned him as a transfer student and threw him at the end of the rankings haha.”

They both laughed and sipped their tea, “So he didn’t ask any questions about it? He wasn’t suspicious at all.”

“Well, I told him it was a system error and only you could fix his ranking.”

She nodded her head in response, “Good, this will be a good trial by fire for him. What area did you assign him too?”

“Area 51.”

“A..Area 51? That was a joke right?”

“No...Should it be?”

The principal jumped up, followed by the vice principal.

“What’s wrong sis? Why are you getting so flustered? It’s only a wasteland area.”

“Fool! Area 51 is the place the outcasts gather.”

“Shit, the outcast? That’s not good, that’s not good at all.” She knew she had stuffed up and time was of the essence. Since he had come and gone, a few hours had already passed. She was hoping that nothing bad had happened, otherwise they would lose a top tier genius with limitless potential.

The two quickly ran and jumped out the window. What was most shocking about them was that they weren’t jumping around but flying through the air like gods.

“What was his name?”

“Lucifer Akira.”

“Lucifer Akira? Heh, what a coincidence. I happened to meet him today. That kid had a good air about him, I’m sure he’s perfectly fine. But just to be safe we better hurry up.”

They quickened their speed tenfold as the sound barrier broke behind them and they shot into the distance.

In space orbiting Planet Almega was a super warship in the shape of a white raven. It was gigantic and would eclipse Enochian Academia if it were to come close. The wings flapped up and down and resembled an Immortal bird. Its eyes were pitch black and no light reflected off of them. The bird’s eyes held an uncomfortable darkness about them. It moved and looked like a real bird but it wasn’t, it was a giant spaceship. The ship was famous and known all across the Milky Way. It inspired fear inside the hearts of mortals and immortals alike.

It was so striking that ships were scared to get within a 100,000 km radius of it. They would circumvent this area even if it took a lot longer.

But on board an unlikely scene was playing out. Raven, the commander of chief was currently cowering in the corner as he tried to avoid someone chasing him.

“What do you mean you can’t find them?” She yelled, her voice strained and full of stress.

The woman yelling lifted a cup and threw it at his face. Raven was incredibly powerful, so powerful that he was unmatched in both intellect and strength but underneath this women’s violent berating and beatings he wouldn’t dare to lift a finger.

“I… I sent a million soldiers to search for them today. They swept the entire planet but they were nowhere to be found. We also sent probes and robots to scan the underground bases but they were nowhere to found. We can sweep the planet again and again until we find them. They might have missed them.”

“M..missed them? Don’t bullshit me. A million soldiers accompanied by ten million probes and robots swept the entire planet in only 4 hours. Then they swept the planet once again. Even a tiny bug couldn’t escape their search so how could they?”

Gulp

She had been yelling at him for the past 2 hours but he couldn’t build up the courage to say the words that were in his heart. Finally, he did. “I hate to say it, but…They might be dead.”

Tears welled up in her eyes when she heard him say these few words that she knew was coming. She wiped her eyes and looked at him with clenched fist. Her eyes were red and her breathing started to speed up.

“Hh..hh…hh..”

Her heart beat became erratic and finally she started to weep. When the results came back and they were nowhere to be found she had already guessed what had happened to them but she wouldn’t let herself think those daunting thoughts.

It wasn’t until she heard the words come out of his mouth that she couldn’t take it anymore and broke down crying. All her walls, apprehensions and fears were coming true. The weight of the world seemed to crush her as she fell to the ground. The four walls seemed to enclose her as she started to hyperventilate and choke on her own tears.

Raven approached her slowly and held her in his arms tightly.

Her tears were like an unstoppable river. She started to speak softly but her words were filled with pain and were barely audible. “He…”

She paused and tried to speak but she couldn’t.

“He was…hhh…hhh..”

“He was your son.”
