Chapter 65 - Elder Young’s sincere apology

Chapter 65 - Elder Young’s sincere apology

“I thought you humans were like us and could regrow lost limbs. You people are so powerful yet something as simple as re-growing a limb or two is beyond your abilities? I seem to have overestimated you.”

The doctor shook his head in disappointment.

The door behind Dr. Green opened and two figures burst in. One was Sora and the other was Elder Young.

Elder Young saw that Lucifer had finally awoken from his tri week slumber. He immediately got down on the ground and slammed his head onto the floor.

“Please forgive my actions.”

Sora didn’t get on the floor and apologize. But he did cup his hands and say, “I also offer my apologies.”

Elder Young’s head was down low on the ground and he was sincerely groveling on the ground in apology. Lucifer wasn’t too sure why he was doing this so he had to ask.

“Why are you apologizing? And why so whole heartedly?”

Sora looked at Elder Young and then back to Lucifer before answering the question on behalf of Elder Young.

“Elder Young thought that you were an enemy and misinterpreted the words I said to him. He warned the guardians that two enemy outsiders had appeared before dashing off to find my father, the council and the grand elders. That was the reason they attacked you and why I was unaware that they would do so, my apologies.”

Lucifer cocked his head to the side. Relatively speaking, the attack from the plasma snakes had ripped open his skin but that was only a flesh wound. On the other hand he was down a hand and an arm which he wouldn’t be able to restore.

“I don’t care about that. Shouldn’t you apologize for my arm?”

Sora looked at Lucifer with a strange look as he raised an eyebrow.

“Why don’t you just grow it back? It’s no big deal.”

Lucifer almost spewed blood, “What the heck, if I could regrow my arm don’t you think I would have done so by now?”

“Ah…”

Sora didn’t know how to react or reply so he just stood there wide eyed. The conversation got very awkward and silent.

Lucifer decided to ignore Sora and told Elder Young that it was alright and it was only a misunderstanding but he would have to foot the medical bills and pay reparations.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.

Elder Young tacitly agreed and felt relieved that Lucifer didn’t demand his life or something similar. He also requested Sora to pay his medical fees, emotional and traumatic counseling fees, rehabilitation fees, recovery fees  and also a fee for him being permanently disabled.

Sora’s mouth dropped when he heard Lucifer’s audacious request but in the end he silently nodded his head and agreed. What else could he do?

Although the Demi-Humans were quite savage, they still maintained a certain sense of civility. They traded using international space currency and had their own market and economy. It had to be said that Young Lord Sora was indeed very rich.

1,000,000 credits were quickly deposited into his account followed by 5,000 credits from Elder Young. He now had 1,005,005.6 credits in his account.

Unfortunately he couldn’t use this method to scam money from rich suckers very often. He only had so many limbs!

He looked at his money and smiled in ecstasy. 1,005,005.6 credits are worth around 990 million Almegian dollars. He had gone from a poor peasant to a rich tycoon!

Now he had enough credits to buy his immortality one hundred times over. He could also help free bucks children from imprisonment. He didn’t know how the process worked but he knew the price. And he now had such a large sum in his pocket he could spend lavishly and freely.

Lucifer’s body was sore all over and he couldn’t move much. Dr. Green guessed that at Lucifer’s healing rate he would need at least 2 months before he could move around again freely. So he would be stuck here until then.

“I need to pass a message over to my peers at Enochian Academia.”

Sora quickly voiced a response, “If we enter Enochian Academia we will be cut down like animals. We can’t get a message there. Does it have to be so discreet? Why don’t you message them on MyFace?”

“MyFace, what’s that?”

“It’s the intergalactic number one social media platform. You really are a country bumpkin to not even know of this.”

Lucifer thought about it for a moment. He wasn’t sure if Aruna and Ambrosia would be on MyFace because they had no access to the internet or anything similar. But they had been here for over 3 weeks so surely they would have made one by now. It was worth a try at the very least and he owed it to them to ease their worries.

For all they knew he could be dead. And that wasn’t too far from the truth either.

“How do I connect?”

“How do you connect? You just use your brain line.”

“What’s that?”

“What’s that….? Mother of Higgs boson! How can you not know what a brain line is?”

Sora tapped on his temple twice before a blue radiance spread from his eyes and enveloped them. If you looked closely at his eyes you would see various degrees of information and dim lights flashing inside of his eyeball spreading from his retina.

In his eyes floated a holographic screen, from the holographic screen that he could control using his eyes. He clicked on the option to connect to Lucifer. After his request, the computer returned with the message.

“Unable to connect, user not registered.”

“Not registered? That’s weird…”

As Sora was going to continue speaking, the door burst open and Sora’s father walked in.

“Ahm, hello young man. I am Chief Xiyi Emo. Sorry about the misunderstanding from before, my son has told me all about you. I understand you aren’t feeling too well. Would you mind if we have a little chat?”

The Chief spoke very fast, almost like he was in a hurry. Lucifer agreed then sat back and listened.

“As you know, relations between Demi-Humans and Humans have never been good. We are often slaughtered as game and treated as pest. But Sora says you hold no prejudice towards our race? Is that true…”

Lucifer nodded his head.

The village Chief smiled in response, he could tell Lucifer didn’t look down on their race at all. He wasn’t like other humans but the Chief still maintained his wariness.
