Chapter 59 - Dirty prank gone wrong

After an unknown amount of time passed, Sora pulled Lucif out of the river. His face was blue but his arm had stopped bleeding.

“You are one impulsive person, you know that? You nearly got us both killed. Please, next time you feel like dying then do it alone.”

There was a moment of silence between the two.

“Where is my arm?”

“I ate it.”

“Y..you ate it? What the hell dude, I could have sowed it back on once it was detoxified.”

“Well I had to play it off otherwise you would have been killed by the other Outcast. Are you really going to blame me right now?”

Lucif didn’t understand what had happened while he was underwater, he saw a few shadows but that was it.

The two got into a heated argument as a vicious array of words were exchanged. But Sora started to lose ground because he felt slightly guilty. That was because this was all supposed to be a little prank. He has 6 types of venom in his body. The one he injected into Lucifs arm was a non-lethal kind. It would cause swelling and pain but would go away after a few hours. He did it to simply scare the bejeebies out of Lucif.

Of course he would never admit this, Lucif was a complete lunatic and he was slightly afraid of him. But in Lucifs mind, this snake had really saved him and then he had nearly killed him so they could be considered even.

“I knew it!” The snow wolf that had spoken out his suspicions before had returned because he simply couldn’t let the thought go. There was something suspicious about the circumstances and he was right. As soon as he saw the human boy he bared his fangs. The surroundings rumbled as his legs pushed off the ground, causing a fracture to appear.

Sora’s body started to grow elongated as his legs joined together and formed into a large 30 meter long tail. His hands turned into wings and he lifted off the ground and flew into the air.

All his teeth were sharp like daggers and a purple liquid dripped from his two fangs. The snow wolfs body pounced through the air followed by the arc of his claw strike. Sora just barely missed his attack as he dodged to the side. The claw had an extended reach created by the air pressure and it cut a large tree in half.

“Hiss…” The purple venom sprayed out of Sora’s mouth and flew through the air but the wolf easily dodged it.

“Your sky serpent tribe is too slow to contend with us. You really want to go to war over a human?” The wolf bared his fangs in disgust.

Truthfully, there was no good reason to protect Lucif and Sora had only saved him on a whim. He was a human and humans were the worst tyrants of all. Other trespassers could be freed, but there was a strong blood feud between demi-humans and humans.

So why was he protecting him? He didn’t know the answer to that question but it had something to do with the way Lucif looked at him, not in disgust but in a grateful and appreciative manner. It wasn’t a look humans gave to him often.

Lucif looked at the giant tree that had been easily severed in half; he felt a shiver crawl up his spine. ‘What deadly power, it’s almost like magic but it’s not.’

The outcasts were similar to super humans but only a portion of them possessed sentient self-awareness. The others looked similar and they had powerful strength but their mind was no different than an animals. No one was sure where they came from and how they came to be but many speculated that they were a product of genetic experimentation.

The fight went on as Lucif stared in wonder. The snow wolf had natural ability, powerful muscles and quick reflexes. Sora was quick witted, flexible and agile. They seemed evenly matched on the surface but Sora was quickly gaining ground. His venom was the biggest factor. Every time he sprayed and missed the venom would splash the surroundings.

But the venom didn’t just disappear; it fizzled and created poisonous smoke which rose into its air. The snow wolf was flying through the poisonous clouds fast enough to not be affected but it was significantly restricting his fighting ability.

Sora was already lost in the heat of battle; his natural instincts had kicked into overdrive as he battled for life and death. But as this happened, something changed.

The snow wolfs eyes became clear and his muscles tensed causing distortions in the surrounding air.

“Awoooo!”

His voice sent shockwaves rippling through the jungle, the sound frightened thousands of birds as they flew into the sky, fleeing from the sound waves. His speed and strength increased tenfold as he battered Sora with an all-out berserker like strike.

Cut, cut, cut, slice, cut, slice, dash

Four wounds appeared on Sora’s body. So far this had been a bloodless battle but now the stakes had been raised.

‘I can’t just sit around and watch. Sora is losing and the miasma is spreading.’

Lucif picked up a stone with his mouth and then tossed it into the air, then he pulled back and roundhouse kicked it at the wolf.

Smack

It hit the wolf’s stomach and cracked but the snow wolf didn’t even notice it. It felt no different than a mosquito bite. Lucif stopped his movements, ‘Damn, that’s one tough body. Alright then, I’ll aim for the eyes.’

Lucif picked up a few more stones and roundhouse kicked them at the wolf. His aim wasn’t as accurate when he was roundhouse kicking stones but he had no choice. His right arm was currently applying pressure to his left arm, stopping it from bleeding out.

If he let go he was sure it would start bleeding again.

12 hits and 20 missed shots with only one shot hitting the snow wolf right on the noggin.

Finally, the snow wolf had noticed Lucif was throwing stones at it which made it visibly annoyed. “Damn human, stop throwing s..ow, stop it. Stop it I said!”

The stones weren’t painful at all but something about seeing it happen created a false sense of pain in his mind.

After seeing Lucif’s tactics, Sora spread his mouth and stretched it over a large boulder which he then bit down and crushed into smaller stones before flying into the air. From then on he started hurdling the broken stone fragments at the snow wolf.

“Get down here you bastard, ow. That really hurt…Ow, stop it!”

The snow wolf tried to jump into the air but Sora was flying too high for him to reach. It was such a simple idea and he wasn’t sure why he hadn’t thought of it sooner.
