Daphne started her day like any other. She took a long, hot shower before putting on her work clothes, which today meant a black pantsuit, with her brown hair tied in in one braid.
She poured herself half a cup of pure black coffee, as she pondered about work. She was a lower level manager at Phantasm, who made the stupidest decision ever. She was supposed to make sure a new game gets produced, weeding out the bad ideas from the good and then setting up a team to make it.
But then Raven joined her company, the one behind My Heart Goes Doki, which she knew only since a friend of hers works in that company, and was at the time one of those who helped Raven make that game become reality. And having such an amazing worker she knew she had to use that. So she changed it from people giving ideas that they go forward with, to just Raven making a game prototype. Which turned into 9 prototypes being made, with one on the way.
Daphne was way more than surprised when Raven presented the first prototype just a week in. Tho, the game prototype was… For a lack of a better word boring, unoriginal. And so she told her that. But it seemed as if Raven couldn’t comprehend that she needed to stop trying to make a game she thought the company would like, which is why she had to tell her that one month before the deadline. Which surprisingly worked, and made Daphne feel stupid for not doing it sooner.
Daphne downed the coffee, she really hoped that this dumb idea of hers was going to work. Because if Raven couldn’t finish that game prototype, who knows if Daphne would keep her job. As a manager she was responsible for her workers after all.
“Come on, Raven. I know you can do it.” Daphne said, knowing she can't hear her, as she put the cup in the sink.
When she stepped outside she realized how cold it is, so she went back inside her house to grab a jacket. Fucking cold ruined her outfit once again. At least the building she worked at wasn't cold. So maybe her pretty outfit was still going to be seen.

Daphne looked around the office where she saw Raven working diligently for her new game prototype. Should she go check on her, to make sure she isn't doing something stupid? Nah, Raven knew what she was doing.
She better check on others, like Alexander and his team, the ones who were in charge of making new updates for Heaven Killers. And so she stepped to their desks.
“How's the winter update coming along?”
Alexander smiled, as he showed Daphne his teammates play-testing the game. There seemed to be some bugs, but this being almost ready for release was way more than than their team usually does. Not to badmouth Alexander, he wasn't bad, he was just no Raven.
“Almost done thanks to Raven, if it weren’t for her it would take us way longer.”
Daphne smiled. So Raven helped others before finishing with her own job. It's good to see she's benevolent. This was the first time when Alexander's team almost finished an update months before the release.
Raven maybe haven't done much for her own game, but just having her in the company was an asset. Daphne laughed as she remembered how Raven thought she was gonna fire her, as if that was ever going to happen. Hell, even if Raven didn't succeed in making that game prototype she would keep her job, but likely be moved to Alexander's team. Even Daphne's supervisor now knows who Raven is, or more like what she's done. So if anyone was going to be fired it would be Daphne way before Raven would even be considered.
“Well that's great to hear,” Daphne finally answered.
She then turned back to Raven who seemed as if she was staring at her. Did she have a stain on her clothes? No, she made sure they were clean before wearing them. Maybe Raven just needs help after all, “Hey Raven, how is your prototype going? Need help with anything.”
Raven waved with her hands, “Everything is going fine, no need for help,” then she made one of those awkward I'm-definitely-hiding-something smiles. Well, as long as it's not work related it’s none of Daphne's business, so she didn't bother to pry further.
It was nice everything seemed on track, which meant Daphne could finally give her attention to all the bureaucracy she had to deal with.
