Chapter 8
After a few days the snake and boy had already arrived on the second floor of the dungeon. Every time they had encountered a monster the snake would quietly kill it before they moved on and if he couldn’t kill it they would backtrack and take another path.
During these few days Adonis had apologized a multiple of times but the snake still looked at him coldly like a enemy of it’s life that it couldn’t kill. When they entered the second floor the snake’s horns started the fall off dropping onto the floor. If they weren’t so sharp Adonis would have collected them to make a weapon with them.
With each monster the snake killed they both earned the same amount of experience. If the corpse weren’t all destroyed into an unrecognizable state from the snake Adonis could’ve already leveled up his Undead Rise Skill by now.
By the time the second week passed in the second floor all of the snake’s horns had fallen off leaving obsidian black dots on it’s back. Towards these dots the snake would always look at them in a a even more cold light.
“C’mon buddy it can’t be so bad right?” Poking at a campfire he tried to make a small conversation with the snake.
Ignoring his words the snake just laid there coldly looking at it’s hornless back. Not even the sound of breathing came from it as if it were dead.
“I mean yeah they did look cool. They were pretty sharp to. I couldn’t even pick one up.” Continuing the conversation despite no response he talked a one sided conversation. “Either way you're just as strong as ever. Don’t be to sad about it.”
Unknown to Adonis each one of his words were silently angering the snake even more. If Adonis had searched on the internet about the snake a couple of weeks ago, he would’ve found out that for the snake’s species to be male they had to have horns. If they lost or damaged even one of the horns they would fall off the snake's body and will have a increase in hormones instead of testosterone causing it’s male “part” to fall off being replaced with a female “part”. It was literal castration. Except he didn’t know that he had just castrated his own companion by accident and was digging a deeper hole for himself.
“Well good night we have a long day tomorrow get some sleep...do undeads even need sleep?”
Sleeping instantly his light breathing could be heard.
“I feel bad for you.” Appearing out of the darkness Marianne walked towards the snake.
“Sst..Sst.”
“Egh..It shouldn’t be so bad being a female. Well there is that thing that happens every month, but hey it’s not too bad.” Sitting down next to the snake the fire illuminated a tired face.
“Sst..sst sst”
“Well I know a few guys that got castrated when they went into a dungeon once. They’re doing perfectly fine.”
“Sss...ss..”
“At least they’re still male huh..”
The next morning Adonis woke up to stamp out the embers and prepared breakfast to eat while walking.
“I had the weirdest dream last night. There was a woman and you talking and the woman was trying to convince you it isn’t so bad to be a female. But that’s impossible after all you're a guy.”
Hearing his words the snakes eyes frosted over before it took the lead with Adonis trailing behind her(?). And behind them Marianne moved through the shadows following them.
To their surprise they had already found the stairway to the third floor. But unlike before where they walked into the next floor without a care, the two of them checked the area surrounding the stairs.
Every other floor there would be a Mini Boss sort of monster that is stronger than usual monsters. Every ten floors there would be a Boss which is several times stronger than the usual monster. And in the bigger dungeons they would form Raid Bosses every fifty floors that could decimate a whole small guild of 10,000 people.
Small and medium guilds would call raid bosses calamities but large guilds would rush at one with all they have. With every raid boss killed, hundreds of resources could be gathered from the boss. Raid Boss = $$$.
“I know this isn’t the best time to ask this but when you kill the monster can you leave a whole corpse?”
Even though a mini boss was the weakest type of boss monster it was after all still a boss monster.
Still not responding the snake entered the room with the stairway in the middle. From the top of the ceiling a black shape fell from the top landing right on the top of the snake.
If the snake still had its spikes the monster would have already been killed but alas they had fallen off with the snakes male pride.

Towards the unwelcome addition on top of it the snake's fangs held onto it tightly throwing it across the room. After landing onto the wall the black ball disappeared into the ceiling not showing itself.
A moment later the black creature didn’t arrive from the ceiling but had appeared all of a sudden directly in front of the snake. But it still wasn’t fast enough. With impossible speeds the snake directly wrapped around it not letting it have any way to leave.
After being stopped the creature can clearly be seen. The black creature was actually a black goblin. A variant of the goblin race the black goblin was faster and stronger than usual goblins.
Instead of crushing it like usual one of the snakes long fangs inserted itself into the goblin's neck kill it. With a flick of its tail the goblin landed in front of Adonis clutching it’s neck as it gasped for air.
A few twitches later the goblin had died in a pool of black blood. Even after dying the blood flowed freely through the hole in it’s neck.
“Well I guess this works..”
Staring at the corpse in disgust he said, “<
Like last time the feeling of exhaustion exploded through his body but being this time it didn’t show on his face. After the ball of black had entered the goblins body the wound healed itself before the goblin stood up.
*Buzz Buzz*
Feeling his phone vibrate he reached for it only to see a the same notification like last time “Changes found: Update Y/N?”. Pressing yes the phone status screen changed again.

“Ehh..Why is there a question mark by your gender Venom? Wait don’t tell me because I doubted your sexuality you’re becoming female!”
Both of the monsters stared at him in shock at his outburst. Even Marianne that was hidden almost lost concentration and fell out of the shadow.
“Grr..grr..”
Turning to the snake the gobin said some incoherent monster language.
“Sst.sss..”
Understanding the goblin the snake replied back and they started a conversation leaving Adonis staring blankly at the two monsters.
“What the heck..you ignore me for weeks and now you're talking to the goblin like there's nothing wrong,” murmured Adonis.
Turning back to the phone he finished scanning through the information.
“This guy’s pretty strong. And of course almost no change for my stats,” Putting away his phone he said,” Let’s go guys. To the third floor we go.”
