Chapter 7
“Ms. Wilson, Do you know how old I am?”
“Huh.”
Not expecting the man in front of her to ask a question back she couldn’t respond in time.
“I should be 796 years old this year.”
Still not responding she blankly stared at the man who relaxedly opened his eyes and smiled. A devil's smile. The smile which showed experience and sadness a normal man in his twenties would not have.
“I call it the Time Collapse.”
“What is it?”
Sitting down the pressure on the desk disappeared making it bend back into its normal shape without any handprints.
“I don’t know.”
“What?”
“Ms. Wilson I really don’t know what it is.”
“Stop bullshiting with me!”
The anger which had just subsided flared again as she slammed the fist again almost splitting the desk in half.
“All I know is that once you are in a Time Collapse, time could be slowed down on Earth or sped up. The longest I’ve been in one was estimated to be 1000000:1 slow. From your experience it could possibly even be 2000:1 slow. A tip of the iceberg of what I have experienced.”
“Then do you know why it happens.”
Growling her words she didn’t look to be a human being but a devil who had been through thousands of battles. Her bloody aura exploded out cracking the bullet proof windows. Even with this pressure he calmly and relaxedly talked to her.
“From what I have heard from Guild Leader Lily, there is only a very slight chance of 3% that it could happen anytime. Even if you were in a dungeon there is still only a low chance of 5%. And the only time that this has ever happened is after the dungeons first appeared in the early 1900’s.”
“Does that mean it could happen right here right now?”
“Exactly, they are completely random in time or even place. There is no pattern. Only they come and go. They are also untrackable or even noticeable until ability users step away from the area of influence. In the area of influence any communication device would malfunction.”
“Why are you telling me this?”
Slumping weakly into the chair she weakly looked at him.
“Guild leader Lily and Tony have disappeared. I suspect they have been dragged into a Time Collapse during their expedition. I would like if you could take over the guild while they are gone.”
“What about their son?”
“He’s only three years old.”
“Age doesn’t mean anything. You and me are the perfect example.”
“That’s true.”
Laughing at the joke they tiredly sighed before resuming the conversation.
“I’ll go take a look at the kid.”
“Why not just take the guild as your own?”
“That’s cause I don't want to become you.”
Laughing she turned and walked into the elevator that had not closed since she had arrived.
“And I would rather become the puppeteer than the marionette.”
As the elevator closed her words echoed back to the guild leader.
“Damn bitch...she noticed.”

Waking up his broken hand passed a sharp pain coursing through his body waking him up instantly. Propping himself up painfully with his good hand a painful groan escaped his mouth.

“I blame that damn snake.”
Curling his fingers on his broken hand another sharp pain coursed up his arm nearly causing him to faint again. Gasping for breath he reached with his good hand to stand up.
“Dammit..urgh...dammit.”
Steadying himself he tried to open the door to the house only to have it not budge. Putting his whole body into pulling on the door it still stayed close.
“What the..”
Checking to make sure the door was unlocked he pulled the door with his whole strength only to have no results.
Outside the door the snake had wrapped its tail around a tree and was trying to pull itself out of the door. Causing the door to be jammed and unopened.
Putting more force into its lower body, the snake ripped the tree in half as it’s horn stayed stuck into the door. The tree after the pulling force flew into the house breaking a window and little bit of the wall.
“My house!”
Despite the pain in his arm Adonis ran towards the opening in horror. Picking up a chunk of wood which had been part of the wall he saw the culprit of this incident.
“Dammit! Dammit! Dammit!”
Taking the chunk of wood he banged it onto its head a few times before hurting his arm. After hurting his arm he chose to start kicking the snake instead.
“Did I ever tell you how much I hate you.”
“Sst..sst”
Trying to talk back the snake with it’s horn stuck, took a kick to the eye before quietly accepting its fate.
After a few more kicks Adonis finally stopped to rest.
“Are you stuck?”
“Sst..stts..stt”
“I'll take that as a yes. This might work..Don’t move.”
Taking out the Laser MK5 from his pocket he put the muzzle right next to the snakes horn.
“SSTSSSTSSSTSSTS!”
Panicking the snake trashed its tail around leaving deep holes in the ground.
“It’ll be fine.”
Pulling the trigger he fired a few times in different places widening the hole until the horn slipped out.
“See I told you it was gonna be fine.”
The horn that had come out smoking and had a sinister red glow to it. While it started to cool the tip cracked off and landed in between the snake and Adonis.
“...”
Staring at the horn both the snake and Adonis stared at it in shock. Adonis out of the stupor first quietly backed himself to the doorway of the house before sprinting in. The snake in it’s stupor didn’t notice it had been left alone again.
“Well that wasn’t my fault..”
Back inside the house Adonis had decided to pack up to go into the dungeon again after thinking of the pros and cons of going back in.
Pros
>Get Stronger
>Further the Goals on the List
>Strengthen the Snake
Cons
>Snake is in shock
>Possible Death
“Should be fine.”
Inside of his bag there was food, water, clothing, and a medic kit. Walking back out of the house with the bag, the snake was still staring at the horn fragment which fell on the ground.
“You ok.”
Patting the snake's head it shivered before looking back with a hint of resentment.
“Hehe..”
Chuckling awkwardly he said, “Let’s go back in.”
Slinging the bag onto his shoulder he walked into the maze with the snake reluctantly following. Exactly like last time they didn’t find any monsters even after walking for hours.
*********************
“Welcome to the Cawdor Manor, Ms. Wilson. It is our pleasure to have you here.”
Bowing forward slightly he greeted her in front of the mansion. Contrary to his amiable greeting she spoke coldly.
“You know why I am here right?”
Keeping his smiles he said, “I was informed by Guild Leader T’mar. But I am sorry to say that the young master has locked himself up inside of the Artificial Dungeon,”
“Show me the Dungeon.”
“Please follow me.”
Leading the way through the house Tony lead Marianne through the house and the back garden before they arrived at a solitary building. Inside the building several servants were cleaning and keeping the room clean. And in the corner stood a locked metal door.
Unknown to most the door was made of Tungsten infused with Mithril. The door itself was practically indestructible even against some of the strongest monster types. And to this door, Marianne directly punched it causing it to cave in like paper.
“Now we don’t have any problem do we.”
“Ms. Wilson please don’t make too much of a mess.”
Still smiling even though sweat bullets appeared on his forehead he tried to keep his face calm.
“I don’t want anyone to come in here.”
Stepping through the debris of the broken door she disappeared into the darkness of the dungeon.
“I don’t remember there being anybody as strong as her that year.” muttered Taylor.
***************************
After walking for hours they had finally spotted their first prey. The trash mob that would usually appear as the first monster to be killed, a goblin.
Charging forward without any noise the snake curled around the goblin killing it instantly by crushing it into a meat patty. The black blood of the goblin oozed onto the snake leaving a unidentifiable green and black blob on the ground.
“Are you angry?”
Turning toward Adonis the snake glared back.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t know that would happen.”
Turning away the snake crawled forward slowly not looking back.
*Sigh*
Following the snake they disappeared around the next corner. The area where the goblin had died a woman appeared out of the darkness like a shadow. Seeing the mess she disappeared into the shadows again after turning the corner to follow the boy and snake.
