Chapter 6
I’ve finally contacted HQ. I’ve been on the sea for five years now. I hadn’t expected to survive till now.
Five years ago we had come out to his part of the ocean to hold back the monster flood from spreading into the Indian Ocean. We had run out of medical supplies within hours. Luckily we had several Healing Ability users on board.
A year after coming here we had our first casualties that had died of stress. Carl Kinder, one of our vanguards had not slept in days and had a heart attack during a fight. Because of that we lost even more people from the unavoidable situation.
On the third year of coming here only a third of us were still surviving. Most of our comrades had already died from being slaughtered by the monsters or from the constant stress. It was also the year we had run out of supplies. We had decided to eat the monster corpse to sustain us that year.
During the fourth year a huge wave appeared killing even more of us leaving me and nine others. That day I ,Marianne Wilson, promised that I will use my life to guarantee none of my other teammates will die.
Halfth a year later I broke my promise. I who had promise to sacrifice my life was scared of death. I was the only one still alive. My comrades in arms lay deep in the ocean dead while I the lone survivor, survive in this hell.
“Th...s...HQ...Wha...Pro...em”(This is HQ. What is the Problem.)
“I am Marianne Wilson of the Cawdor Guild, Commander of the 2nd Main Army, I request a retreat.”
Holding the microphone she trembled in joy hearing the microphone crackle.
“Re..rt...o...ca...l..es”(Report of Casualties)
“Report 4,999 casualties, 0 injured, 1 alive, 1 ship, no supplies.”
“R..tr..t…...th..sed”(Retreat Authorized)
Leaping up with more vigor than before she turned on the autopilot on the ship.
For the first time in five years the ship had been turned on. Leaping forward the ship at it’s fastest pushed forward at mach 2 rushing forward through the ocean.

“Sir we have just received a report from Cawdor main force #2.”
“How are they?”
Talking in impatience T’mar filled out forms on his desk stacking a tower.
“Sir there were 4,999 casualties, 0 injured, 1 alive, and 1 ship.”
With each number the guild leader’s face got darker and darker before finally crushing his pen exploding ink over all his desk.
“One survivor.”
“Yes Sir, Marianne Wilson of the Cawdor Guild and Commander of the 2nd Main Army.”
“Did you authorize a retreat?”
Letting go of the pen only a ball of metal lay on the table amidst the ink.
“Yes Sir.”
“You may leave.”
If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
“Yes Sir”
Exiting the room the woman left in a hurry leaving the guild leader in the room.
Placing his hand to his forehead not noticing the ink, he deeply sighed.
“Only one survivor, It’s only been a day.”
Laughing to himself darkly he said. “At least there is one survivor in the three main armies.”
********************
Within hours she had arrived at a guild port in London.
“May you be Marianne Wilson?”
“Yes.”
Getting off the ship a woman speedily walked over appearing in front of her.
“Guild Leader T’mar wants to meet you for a full report.”
“Ok.”
“Please this way.”
Driving to the Guild HQ Marianne couldn’t help but notice that nothing's changed in five years.
“Nothing’s changed.”
“Yes nothing’s changed?”
After commenting she closed her eyes only to see the last five years flash through her eyes.
“It was quite the journey wasn’t it Ms. Wilson?”
“Yes, yes it was quite a journey.”
Smiling bitterly she thought of the people that had one by one died during the expedition.
Noticing the smile the woman driving went quiet focusing on the road.
“We are here Ms. Wilson.”
Opening her eyes again they had already arrived at the Guild HQ. A large skyscraper which towered over fifty floors.
“The receptionist will guide you when you get inside.”
“Thank you.”
Exiting the car she walked into the building to see a reception hall the size of a football field. Ignoring the scene which would leave visitors dumbfounded she hurriedly walked towards the receptionist.
“I am here to see the guild leader.”
“Do you have a prior appointment.”
“No, I’m here to report from the 2nd Main Army.”
“Might you be Ms. Wilson?”
“Yes.”
Pointing to another side of the reception area she smiled.
“We have already been told you would be coming. Guild Leader T’mar is on floor 100. The elevators are over there.”
“Thank you.”
Arriving at the elevators she quickly entered one before it closed. Pressing on the number 100 she quietly waited as more and more people left leaving her to be the only person in the elevator.
As the doors opened it revealed a room with a desk in the middle with only one man in the room. The man looked to be young but had ink covering his face.
“I presume you are Ms. Wilson.”
Standing up the man reached out for a handshake with a hand covered in ink.
“Uhh..Yes..”
Reaching out her hand tentatively she barely touched his hand before taking it back.
“You may know me as Guild Leader T’mar.”
“Nice to meet you.”
Sitting herself down she stared at the man across of her.
“How was the Indian Ocean Front?”
“Horrible.”
“Hahaha.”
Laughing at the curt answer he covered his eyes leaning back.
“Did you know you're the only survivor of the three main armies.”
“Pardon.”
“The first and third army has already been slaughtered and disappeared from this world.”
“Oh.”
“Guild Leader Lilly and Tony have also disappeared with no contact in Dungeon Siphila.”
“Oh.”
“You don’t seem very surprised.”
“It has been five years after all.”
“Five years? It’s only been one day since the three main armies were deployed.”
Staring at the man in front of her she quietly looked at him to see if he was joking only to see no emotion other than sadness.
“Sir, What is the date?”
“March XX XXXX.”
“What!”
Jumping in shock she slammed her hands against the desk leaving two handprints in the wood.
“Ms. Wilson. Calm yourself.”
Still standing she shouted at him. “It’s been five years since I went in that damn hell! I’ve lost 5 thousand comrades these five years dammit!”
“Ms. Wilson I am not saying you are lying to me.”
“How can I be calm after you tell me I was only gone for one day!”
