Chapter 18
<
After the cutscenes disappeared it went black than white clear letters appeared in front of him.
<
Appearing before him a expansive grassland virtualized. Even the gentle wind blew against his face.
<
In front of him a dozen types of weapons materialized and dropped onto the ground.
<
Picking up a sleek pistol from the pile of weapons he inserted one of the cartridges that was next to it.
Training Pistol
Ranged attack +5
A pistol issued to new cadets in the World Defence Army of the Cawdor Guild.
“Cawdor Guild…” muttered Mark seeing the window in front of him.
<
The empty grassland changed into a dark mystifying forest where shadows flitted across.
<
One of the shadows disappeared appearing in front of him. It was a goblin. A dark green skinned skinny lanky child sized figure.
<
Stolen novel; please report.
The goblin’s skin started to change color labeling parts of it’s body like it’s head and area around the right side of its chest red.
<
Firing the pistol expertly the beam flew true and hit the forehead of the goblin leaving a bloody hole. Collapsing onto the ground the goblin disappeared as if never there.
<
The dark forest disappeared around him leaving a black space around him.
<
Appearing before him a map glowed eerily onto his face.
<
<
“Guild Headquarters, London,” said Mark remembering Mikaela’s words before the game.
<
<
Like cold water had been poured over his hold body he felt a cold feeling spread through his body as the world went dark. After staring into the darkness with the feeling of flying through the air the world materialized in front of him.
<
Taking in the world around him it was surprisingly real. He even smelled the dizzying smells that wafted around the building.
“Hey Mark!” said a voice behind him.
Turning around he saw Riley waving towards him, “Ahh Hey. “said Mark waving back.
“Have you seen Mikaela?” asked Riley looking around after she arrived in front of him.
“No I haven’t I just arrived,”said Mark leveling himself with the ground after he regained the feeling to his body.
“Mikaela’s always slow with the tutorials,”said Riley helping Mark stand, “She always says she needs to check every corner for hidden stuff, it might take her a while. We should just head out first she can find us later.”
“Uhh yeah ok,” said Mark leaning onto Riley’s shoulder as the waves of dizziness disappeared.
“What do you want to do first?” asked Riley leading Mark to a open area, “I don’t usually play RPG’s so I’m not sure what we’re supposed to do.”
“Well we should probably find a NPC to get a quest like that one,” said Mark pointing towards a old looking man that was surrounded by other players, “Usually in the beginning there would be a person that stands out like him that would give the first quest.”
Leading the way towards the old man Mark nearly got trampled by the amount of players around him before Riley decided to lead the way and open up a path towards the old man.
“Sorry about that,” said Mark catching his breath, “I’m not to good with crowds.”
“It’s alright when I was younger I would do the same thing with Mikaela,” said Riley smiling, “Then she grew up and can stand crowds now..*sigh* they grow up so fast.”
